Mercedes sells mostly rich-bitch girl cars nowadays. So yeah, get a CLK or the like...
10/31/2005 9:19:59 AM
k, so we drove a 911 carrera s on saturday. first off, i have to say that if we do decide to purchase one, it won't be from the baton rouge dealer. rudest bunch of people i have ever seen. i guess we looked to "young" to be able to afford one... anyway, my husband liked it quite a bit. we might check around for a couple year old turbo just to see what the difference is and if it is worth it. personanally i thought it rode pretty badly but then our roads suck big time. the acceleration and handling were impressive i will definitely admit. hmmm next weekend, i think mercedes.

teg you are in a frat so obviously originality doesn't mean shit to you if I am going to pay 100k for a car i better not see another one every time i go downtown[Edited on October 31, 2005 at 12:43 PM. Reason : and the car is still built by amg even if the badge doesn't say it.]

^I'm sure some of the Mercedes still might be alright. I hope she doesn't give up on that Z06 before test driving it either.

^^no i realize that any sports car will be a much stiffer ride than a sedan. but my best friend has a corvette and it honestly doesn't ride that badly at all. ^no worries there. it is probably my favorite of the ones i listed (my husband likes the porsche). i think we'll test a z06 when we get back from vacation.edit - as far as originality goes, whether or not i see other ones on the road doesn't matter to me. it just means we all have good taste. [Edited on October 31, 2005 at 2:18 PM. Reason : er]
10/31/2005 2:16:14 PM
as much as I like the idea of the power in a z06, there is no way I would ever buy one, especially if I wanted to talk about good taste. That's the kind of car billy bob and sue ellen buy while they live in their double wide. Might as well get a 1988 IROC-Z with t-tops and blast the REO
10/31/2005 2:27:55 PM
^not quite but i know what you mean...there are really just too many of them on the road driven by old farts these days. Oh well [Edited on October 31, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Reason : i wouldnt drive or buy one after i was like 25-30 years old]
10/31/2005 2:29:37 PM
Again, don't get me wrong, they've got more power than anyone could ever ask for....and the new z06's have a much better interior than the last model, but it's still a far cry from what I would want for 70k. nothing screamed piece of shit car more than the old gearshift knob in the previous model...it was the size of a christmas ham and looked like asshole
10/31/2005 4:04:44 PM
I can't imagine the cost of replacing such an item.[Edited on October 31, 2005 at 4:08 PM. Reason : ]
10/31/2005 4:06:57 PM
what pissed me off was the 3ft long shifter lol, mine was cut down when i got it so i didnt even know how long they were stock until i drove a buddies car...i was like god damn this thing is like something off a school bus or somethin
10/31/2005 4:38:05 PM
haha yeah the first thing i did to my fbody was a new shifter
10/31/2005 4:44:35 PM
right, because when I plunk down 60-70k, I should have to worry about buying a new shifter....it's just a small example of the reasons why I wouldn't buy a vette....if they can't even give you a good shift knob, why waste the money?
10/31/2005 7:35:43 PM
its hardly a 'waste', although they could definetly spend a little more in the right places to make it a much more appealing car--the shifter being one of those areas. IMO, the leather is another...the factory leather is cheap as hell and plastic like feeling. Some of the plastic interior could be re-done or at least made to fit better, the fuel gauge issues could be fixed, blah blah blah. I've said all this 100 times, you get the idea... I can't see buying a corvette new, they just lose their value way too quickly seeing how I picked mine up for $14K, although it isn't a Z06 and is high mileage.
11/1/2005 1:33:04 AM
^ i agree a z06 is the car to buy if you want a ton of performance and don't really mind the lack of sophistication (does the c6 still have the fiberglass leafspring) the entire car is like that its more the car for jeff gordon than james bond
11/1/2005 2:01:35 AM
^look asshole, just b/c I'm right doesn't mean you have to attack my afiliations. Thats just weak.

Z06 and have ~$30k left over to transform it into something that just might be capable of scaring me. Those cars have been making ~440rwhp stock, and around 480-490 with just a cold air kit, headers, exhaust, and a dyno tune. That's a car that will run 130+ in the 1/4, stop and corner with the world's best exotics, and have damn near impeccable street manners for under $100k.
