im thinking 16 person prob will be impractical too, but we'll see.[Edited on May 21, 2005 at 8:40 AM. Reason : specially will all the ranged weapons, pretty gay to get huge lazer from insanely far]

if they made the revolution like that NES pic, i'd buy one no matter what.

If you're playing Super Smash Bros. online, the screen really only needs to focus on your character and the people close to him. With each person playing the game having their own screen, the game doesn't have to worry about including everyone on the screen at once.
5/21/2005 4:06:41 PM
ok i didnt know we're talking about online play

Did ya'll see Filter on G4. I was really suprised they put the Revolution against PS3 on the Filter face off. I honestly thought it was gonna be 360 vs. PS3.
5/24/2005 11:46:50 AM
^they'd lose half of their fanboy audience either way, that would be a lose lose situation for themthat station is so awful.[Edited on May 24, 2005 at 4:16 PM. Reason : d]

Yall betta get ready. Nintendo has confirmed every single downloadable past Nintendo game via the Revolution will be 100% F.R.E.E. Where do I sign up?http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2584&
6/3/2005 4:16:15 PM
i applaud this marketing
6/3/2005 4:17:58 PM
Game over. This is indeed HUGE news.
6/3/2005 4:19:11 PM
Holy freakin shit. Great googly moogly.
6/3/2005 4:20:13 PM
Notice the fine print. Only Nintendo created titles such as zelda and mario will be free. Games by other developers in the past will cost whatever the developer wants to charge for it.
6/3/2005 4:22:56 PM
But still, thats alot of GOOD, QUALITY games. I'd love to play me some Fire Emblem.
6/3/2005 4:24:34 PM
^^I'm sure you will still be able to buy those games. They can't make them too expensive, they know that nobody is gonna pay more than $10 for like Mortal Kombat.[Edited on June 3, 2005 at 4:27 PM. Reason : ]
6/3/2005 4:27:39 PM
Don't get me wrong, this is still huge. They just sold me a revolution with this move, I love all my old games. It'd just be better if all old nintendo games were going to be free Guess I'll settle for deep discount price though.
6/3/2005 4:30:28 PM
Well, I'm sure companies like Capcom will let you download for free :-p Or maybe just a small fee. The article states that progress hasn't been made on that avenue yet.Besides, the ability to play SNES mariokart over the net is worth it alone.[Edited on June 3, 2005 at 4:53 PM. Reason : ed]
6/3/2005 4:31:25 PM
I dont think they are going back and making all those games internet playable, they are just saying you can download them and play them on the revolution.
6/3/2005 4:59:18 PM
I think it would be easy... just treat an internet player as you would a guy sitting next to you.One can hope.
6/3/2005 5:29:16 PM
OK, that link goes to an article that says:http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=36071&subsectionid=1587
6/3/2005 5:50:24 PM
who owns the rights to goldeneye etc by rare since they got bought by microsoft? if nintendo got them in the deal would they be considered 1st party now and downloadable with other games like mario?
6/3/2005 6:17:24 PM
ea probably owns the rights to goldeneye, i believe they have the bond liscense
6/3/2005 8:53:57 PM
the sole reason why i always buy nintendo is to play mario/donkey kong/etci don't care about the usual bloodfeast ps2/xbox gamesso i meanwhatever
6/3/2005 9:11:31 PM
you can play my donkey kong
6/3/2005 9:30:09 PM
I hope it would be free. But either way, I'm still not really convinced about this system being revolutionary. I'm just gonna wait it out to see what else Nintendo will come up with, especially w/ 3rd party support and mature games. I just really hope the Resident Evil series will still be on the Nintendo line up.

Bah, I don't really care. There aren't really any older Nintendo games that I want that I don't already have anyway. But that's just me personally.
6/7/2005 8:37:45 PM
^same hereBut I'm interested in some 3rd party games that are hard to come by.
6/7/2005 8:58:34 PM
Here's a list of what's gonna be FREE thus far (notice Mario Kart 64, Perfect Dark, GOLDENEYE, etc.)http://news.gaminghorizon.com/media2/1118026860.1280.html
6/7/2005 9:52:44 PM
^That is NOT a list of free games available for download. That is a list of games that Nintendo has published in Japan compiled by a message board user.http://cube.ign.com/articles/622/622722p1.htmlReally, do you think Nintendo would give away Goldeneye, the entire DKC series, Super Mario Kart and 64, and the entire Mario Bros. series away for free? What are they gonna charge us to download?
6/7/2005 10:31:46 PM
6/7/2005 10:34:51 PM
if you can download Duck Hunt, is the Zapper compatible with the Revolution? What about games that use the Power Pad?
6/7/2005 11:24:30 PM
Dear Nintendo:Please to read the internet. The 21st century is calling.Kthnx.
6/8/2005 1:05:22 AM
So I just read Nintendo is not supporting HD games...Is it just me or is this a really bad move. Honestly, why the fuck is Nintendo always hesitant to do something. I mean they didn't do online gaming cuz they didn't think it was time for online gaming and now look at them.
6/10/2005 9:22:28 PM
as a gamer that doesn't concern me at all. unfortunately, the majority of the buying market is of the opinion that " holy shitt!!! yuo can't see the tittays in HI-REZ on nintendo kiidie machine! more like gay-tendo lollers. GRAPHIX >> GAMEPLAY 4TW!"
6/10/2005 9:35:39 PM
graphics arent everything, but sweet high rez graphics enhance the gaming experience definately.i want the whole package in a game.
6/10/2005 10:41:55 PM
i still think good-looking hi-res games will be expensive and few and far-between..way too much work for designers and developers to pull off a 40-50 hour game with that much detail and way more expensive.. it will be passed on to the consumer
6/10/2005 11:02:24 PM
hardly any games are 40-50 hours long anyway so ur point isnt taken. truthfully i dont care if its that extra nice, cuz my tv's suck anyway. but short, awesome looking, well designed gaems are fine by me.
6/10/2005 11:16:12 PM
This point really pisses me off. The Nintendo Gamecube pretty much MADE me want a HDTV. People might not notice the difference in some games, but Super Smash Bros. and Soul Calibur II look fucking sweet in 480p. And if people can appreciate the difference in detail in those games (like I most certainly do), what makes Nintendo think the detailed textures of next-gen systems won't make a difference? If they support 480p and 720p I won't mind, but if they completely drop progressive scan support I'm gonna be pissed the fuck off. They may as well drop Dolby Digital surround sound while they're at it. By 2008 their technology will be behind the times again. This is just like CD's and online support.Honestly, it's another BIG strike against them if they don't support progressive scan at all and the decision sounds like another instance of looking at Japan instead of America. More and more people are jumping on the HD bandwagon and if they go into a store and are told that the Revolution doesn't support HD pictures, it's one more reason to pick up an Xbox 360 or PS3.
6/11/2005 12:53:17 AM
no joke.If I dropped a couple grand on a nice HD set I'd want to play my video games in HD damnit. (whether or not graphics make the game)
6/11/2005 12:59:19 AM
^^Amen

7/25/2005 9:57:34 PM
so Nintendo FINALLY realized that they should make a system that uses standard media in a standard size.Took the mongoloid fuckers long enough.

It is really kinda difficult to think about what they could be doing with this controller to make it so new and revolutionary, but if you think about it, most of the things standard on any controller these days were pioneered by Nintendo. And online play for older games would be great. I am looking forward to playing Goldeneye and SSBM online.
8/21/2005 7:17:42 PM
There's a few funny pics of the Revo controller on IGN:http://gear.ign.com/articles/643/643663p1.html[Edited on August 21, 2005 at 7:29 PM. Reason : .....]
8/21/2005 7:27:31 PM
That controller would suck. Gyroscopic motion sensors are just too sensitive and not stable enough for everyday gaming. Plus, people are too damn lazy too hold their arm out and keep it steady. Sidewinder PC controllers have had stuff like this before and it just sucked for use but was neat none the less.
8/21/2005 11:51:16 PM
Those guesses look like shit
