4/4/2005 11:32:41 PM
cuz it's so bling bling now, lol. stands out just a little more than a primered/rusted car.
4/4/2005 11:45:02 PM
yeah twice today I got the "floor it" motion from people. by the way i tried to get on it yesterday leaving but it damn near cut off. of course when I got going it was fine again. I guess it just didnt want to show off.
4/5/2005 12:09:29 AM
haha, yeah i noticed you just kinda puttered off... figured you were just driving like a fag
4/5/2005 12:42:12 AM
when the heat soak gets to it yeah it sucksI have 227 miles on it now, havent seen any more oil smoke in quite a while so I guess the rings have seated. Runs strong.
4/5/2005 9:04:07 PM
fixed everything up, official mileage this week was 8.13MPG
4/15/2005 6:08:20 AM
what octane does it use?
4/15/2005 11:52:08 AM
dang man, optmusprimer, that cutlass is awesome.what kind of stuff are you doing to the suspension. tranny, rear-end, etc? is this going to be a daily driver/drag car? major props on the choice of engine components, thats going to be sweet. post more pics if you got any.
4/15/2005 12:51:36 PM
i drive this car everyday, been putting the cheapest gas in it actually and it barely spark knocks once in a while. not enough to bother me. the front suspension is done on the car for the most part, all been rebuilt, new everything from ball joints to the poly bushings. rear end and transmission are stock currently.
4/15/2005 6:12:57 PM
thanks for stopping by sun. sounds good
4/18/2005 5:44:51 PM
Slick. Very slick. Going to put stripes over that red?
4/18/2005 5:54:30 PM
now getting 12-14mpg
5/5/2005 6:40:35 PM
turns out the starting problem i have been having has been the battery. somehow i managed to kill a red top optima that i bought in december 02.I have bought all new factory replacement distributor parts for 2 reasons: 1- alot of people swear that the accell cap/rotor/coil arent any better than stock and 2- my accell or blue point shit is hanging on for dear life. got one screw out of four holding the coil on and 3 of four clips holding the cap on. not to mention the contacts in the cap and on the rotor look like shit. also I want to re-jet (going up from 64) the carb and at least replace the plugs if not go to a different heat range before I get it to the track for once.
7/10/2005 1:25:24 AM
hei?
7/10/2005 1:27:45 AM
red top: meh, you're buying a name thats slighly better than the $20 battery you can get at advanceyellow top: a real battery
7/10/2005 1:30:45 AM
^^yeah HEI^ why would I buy a yellow top when I need a battery for starting?
7/10/2005 1:31:55 AM
oh you need teh blue top!!!111one
7/10/2005 1:33:18 AM
I wish they were like legos so i could stack them lol
7/10/2005 1:34:47 AM
well if you killed the damn thing already...
7/10/2005 1:35:42 AM
what do you mean by the rotor/cap contacts look bad? like worn, or singed/darkened from spark/heat? what are the plugs gapped at?
7/10/2005 1:36:06 AM
plugs are gapped at either .045 or .060 cant remember
7/10/2005 1:39:53 AM
rotor/cap contacts look like...?? could be gap needs to be widened a touch. i've seen contacts with a good hei behind them damn near melt if the plug gap is too small...
7/10/2005 1:47:07 AM
hmm
7/10/2005 1:50:03 AM
Accel coils are famous for being so hot that they melt caps and rotors, and they personally don't make a cap and rotor thats good enough to withstand their own coil. I've been told that MSD cap and rotors are some of the only ones good enough to last for a while. Plug gap should be no more than .065, but certainly with an hei more than .045. Try reading the instructions that came with the coil kit or whatever, it specifies.

just got my turndowns on, idle resonance is out of this world but thats the way it goesthrottle response is much better and cruising RPM is actually lower, signs that the old tailpipes were choking the engine[Edited on July 14, 2005 at 4:04 PM. Reason : now, to get more air/fuel into the engine...]
