^Considering how quick the last 3 commitments went, I can't see Gott wanting him to visit anywhere else. Unless they wanted to give Anya a chance to make his OV first, but I wonder if Gott really has a preference over who claims the position?

^bingo. they wanted Anya and don't see us getting 2 of meeks/anya/woodson. but thats the way it goes...its a great problem to have kids wanting to commit before other visits.

*fully expect Woodson to commit to State by Friday

i think if at any point woodson was ready to commit to us, we'd gladly accept.

we can't afford to whiff on both woodson and anya. we could even take woodson, anya, and randle if they all wanted to come play here. our frontcourt is clearing out after this season.

can't imagine this staff wouldn't let Woodson commit on the spot, no matter how much they want Anya

We need bigs so damn bad, I would have a hard time believing we would slow play a 4* center at this point.

we would take both

the plan if that happens is to try washington at the 3. im sure that would be a henson-esque disaster but yea

We're not getting him, but it would be preferable for UNC to join us on that boat.

Don't think we will get Randle or Meeks. Woodson or Anya maybe.

I would like to see us in the running for Mamadou Ndiaye. I can see him staying around for 4 years and being useful the whole time.

As far as guards are concerned, will Torian Graham will be a JUCO transfer for 2013?

Pretty sure you have to graduate from JUCO in order to qualify for Div 1. It takes 2 years to get through JUCO, so Graham won't be transferring anywhere until '14.

Other than the fact that it has no backing, what's dumb about that? It's certainly not the dumbest thing said in this thread. It actually makes sense. If I was coaching a kid that was getting recruited by D1 school for basketball, I'd want him to be fully informed before making a decision.

in the past month or so we've taken four spur of the moment commitments. it seems very unlikely that we'd tell a kid to sleep on it.

We need big men badly. The only rational explanation for not accepting Woodson's commitment on the spot would be if we felt we had Anya in the bag. Which we don't, because everybody knows that Indiana has him in the bag.

it's certainly possible that the coaches on woodson's end suggested that, but there's no chance in hell that our staff refused a commitment from him. that just flat out did not happen. i have no inside info, but i'll guarantee that didn't happen. if he wants to commit, we'd accept in a heartbeat.

I think unc gets meeks, Indiana gets anya, and we get woodson. Randle sadly to UK but I think we have a shot if we kill it early on this season.

Wiggins reclassifying to 2013

Unfortunately 2013 class for Kentucky is more or less full so that may make Carolina the front runners

^^Kentucky's class is never "full" (they always have scholarships to give), but yeah, there's a question whether Wiggins wants to share touches with the Harrison twins and Young.

^^Yeah I mean I'm sure they can find room, I just wonder if you want to reclassify to have to share with that historic class

I'm also assuming Randle wants in on that action though that's not a sure thing.

National media loves Calipari and ESPN is basically following around kids who they are recruiting with cameras. He's got recruiting on lockdown until his program gets busted again.

i'm sure calipari is squeaky clean at this point. "come play for me, be on espn every single night, win a national title and get drafted in the first round one year from now." he doesn't need cash.

^ Indiana showed him so much love. Hope we do the same. It's cool though, Purvis is probably our best recruiter.

unfortunately we can't show him the same love, since we don't have a home game and it's not midnight madness, etc.

Not sure we can make it far in the tournament with a couple of 6'-8" power forwards. We will end up playing some damn midwest team with a true NBA center and our frontcourt scorers getting in foul trouble trying to guard him. We need a lanky 7 footer, if just for rebounds and defense. Someone to follow BDV.

There aren't any 7-footers in the 2013 class. Unless you want to go hunting for another Bartosz. Meeks, Anya and Woodson, the top 3 ranked centers for this class, are all 6'9 or so.

^^Anya has a 9'3" wingspan. The 6'8" for him is pretty irrelevant, he'd be able to defend anyone in the post.
