11/16/2008 8:38:50 PM

11/16/2008 10:51:14 PM
do you play horde? xfer to onyxia!
11/16/2008 10:58:52 PM
too late, I'm already there, haha
11/16/2008 11:11:57 PM
so all the xpac content cleared in 68 hours. this is a sign that the game is catering to the absolute worst scrubs (probly 50+% of the game). 10 mans and pvp I guess..
11/17/2008 3:27:21 AM
i see them adjusting the difficulty a bit...and anyone know why the guilds name is twentyfifthnovember....WHATS GUNNA HAPPEN!?!
11/17/2008 5:24:40 AM
Let me know when I don't have to poopsock 10 arena losses and hours of battlegrounds per week to get gear that is 2 seasons behind the top players and maybe I'll come back.
11/17/2008 8:54:29 AM
1900+ person queue on Doomhammer last night. I tried to log in at 7:30 and didn't get in until almost 10:00.
11/17/2008 8:55:47 AM
<twentyfifthnovember> is a combined <Curse> and <SK-Gaming>, they're unveiling some new WoW community site of theirs on Nov 25.

Seriously Blizzard, how the fuck? WotLK is to WoW what WoW was to the entire MMORPG genre back in 2004. Keep in mind, I didn't like Burning Crusade, and more or less quit the game for almost 2 years after it was released. It's just mind boggling that they managed to make what is essentially a 4 year old game, feel like a brand new experience. You would be downright dumb to waste your time playing any other MMO. I honestly feel bad for any gamers out there who won't try it due to the stigma that comes along with playing WoW or any other MMO, because it's easily one of the best gaming experiences out there.I'll finish by saying the competition is fucked. Blizzard is simply the best at this and WotLK moves the goal posts completely out of reach.
11/17/2008 2:59:40 PM
granted I never did do end game content or raids BUT I've always enjoyed WoW and loved Burning crusade. I did quit for about a year until this past Saturday when I picked up WotLK. Haven't seen much of the exp yet but from what i've been reading it sounds badass!
11/17/2008 3:04:34 PM
^^
11/17/2008 6:11:01 PM
11/17/2008 6:28:35 PM
^gronke's just upset that no one wants to play with him.
11/17/2008 7:14:55 PM
^^ So? Is it still that way or not?
11/17/2008 7:25:41 PM
it never was that way.
11/17/2008 7:30:33 PM
If Blizzard spent as much time in PVP as they do in PVE, I'd play it again. By god, the game has been out for 4 years and we have.. what.. 5 battleground maps now? Compare that to the amount of instances and raids that have come out since the original release. I can count at least 20 off the top of my head.[Edited on November 17, 2008 at 7:43 PM. Seriously (obligatory this isn't a warhammer thread post to follow I'm sure) , if blizz put half the effort into pvp that they did into pve they would fucking lock down 100% of the mmo community. How hard can it be to make more BGs with the new instances. I'm sure more instance servers can't be much cheaper than more bg/arena servers. How about some abilities that work only in pvp to spice up the game some, or even just work differently (other than different diminishing returns). How about making tanks viable in pvp like they are in warhammer to fucking change it up a bit, for example.there is a lot they could have / could be doing more for pvp.
11/17/2008 9:57:32 PM
11/17/2008 9:59:54 PM
what's a good castbar addon? I can't remember what I used before I quit.Something that'll watch your dots and show the time remaining on enemy cooldowns, etc
11/17/2008 10:02:37 PM
warrior tanks are pretty good at pvp now...tons of stuns and shit.
11/17/2008 10:11:23 PM
I'm sure arena teams are dying to find a good prot warrior.
11/17/2008 10:19:31 PM
I just played an AB at lvl 73.good lord, that was the most fun I've had in a video game since...since I quit wow earlier this year.pvp in this game is still so fun
11/17/2008 10:41:44 PM
yeah don't get me wrong, I'm sure i'll come back after the 80 billion 360 games are out by the end of the year.Just have to decide if I want to level my UD Lock or a Paladin on either faction. Any idea if Ret is still as gimped as ever at 80? or at least leveling towards 80. Looks like they got some kickass abilities, just haven't read a single forum other than this thread on wow in months. Also I hear locks got the nerf bat.
11/17/2008 11:00:37 PM
ret pallies are ridiculously powerful I hearalthough I haven't fought one yet
11/18/2008 12:09:58 AM
Locks got nerfed badly enough after the initial patch that I was doing half of my pre-patch dps and having to follow a new fire-based destro rotation that took a lot of micromanaging. I hear we were buffed back up a bit after the second patch, but I haven't played to test that out.I do know ret pallies have a ton of burst damage now. It's turning out good in my favor, because I'm soloing as prot on a pvp server, but I don't get fucked with at all, I guess because they assume I'm ret.
11/18/2008 5:41:37 AM
I tried the whole aoe grinding and just leveling by tanking instances thing with my paladin for a few levels durring BC, not sure if I can do that again.
11/18/2008 11:00:35 AM
Dinged 80 Tuesday the 18th at 6am. Not monumental but it definitely took a serious effort. Time to farm herbs before the wave catches up.
11/19/2008 1:53:44 AM
If you want solely pvp, like someone said, you keep playing warhammer and ignore this thread.Blizzard hands down created a PvE experience unlike any other.I CHALLENGE you not to get pumped as hell at the end of the wrathgate questline.
11/19/2008 3:41:34 AM
Guess who's back..
11/19/2008 8:33:55 AM
I too, fell off of the wagon.
11/19/2008 3:23:33 PM
I'm 75 on the druid.Anyone else make bank on cobolt ore in the first couple days? I know i was selling those stacks at 250g a pop for the first 48 hours.
11/19/2008 3:25:18 PM
I'm playing a warrior again on Greymane and this realm's economy must be mad fucked. Everyone has been hording gold and has over 15k. Is it like this everywhere?
11/19/2008 3:56:26 PM
Its not really hording gold.Making money is easy.
11/19/2008 4:23:39 PM
That's my only concern with WoW, that it will eventually reach Diablo II territory where gold is no longer a viable currency due to how easy it is to obtain. Granted, I'm poor as shit so we're not there yet
11/19/2008 4:32:00 PM
Quite the contrary.Raid consumables are cheaper now then vanilla- including enchants.*this came out more dickish then I intended.Editted.[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 4:53 PM. Reason : >.<]
11/19/2008 4:45:29 PM
I guess I didn't really mean hording, more so that it appears since I've left, there hasn't really been anything at all to spend gold on and now people are just buying glyphs worth 10g for 100g out of sheer laziness. I sold some blue 69 plate mediocre pants for 200g within 30 min. As you say, everything is dirt cheap, but it seems somehow the realm is completely flooded with gold and I don't know if everyone is just buying it on ebay or if all the raiders that 'beat tbc' are doing dailies every day for their fix. I know making money is easy, it's always been. You basically day-trade the auctionhouse if you have hours upon hours to waste or you have a job that allows for a laptop install of wow to sit there and scan and alert you.
11/19/2008 5:07:42 PM
i'm pretty sure you have to try to not make money.
11/19/2008 7:06:39 PM
after about 3 hours of play I'm not impressed
11/19/2008 8:21:23 PM
I've always run full destro on my lock, I'm doing good dps though - at least I feel like I am.What kind of rotation are you running?
11/19/2008 11:23:48 PM
I'm going to go ahead and place this as even more entertaining then Fallout 3.
11/20/2008 12:05:41 AM
holy god, pvp sets look SO UGLY NOW. Season 4 was ugly as hell, but S5 gear somehow gets worse.Whoever designed the armor sets must have quit or SOMETHING after Tier6 came out.I wish my pvp set was just a palette swap of t3.http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/wotlk/armorsets/pve213_warlock.jpgvshttp://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/wotlk/armorsets/deadlyglad_warlock.jpgHow shitty.[Edited on November 20, 2008 at 12:45 AM. Reason : I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS AN I AM UPSET]
11/20/2008 12:43:55 AM
^First link looks like fucking C'thun or something. Almost as gay as bug-eye T3 (T2?...forgot) way back in the day.The second link actually looks pretty cool. Calmed down a lot from other sets they've been making lately, which I like. There's only so many tentacles and spires you can put on the shoulders before everyone starts looking like a fucking imbecile.
11/20/2008 12:47:32 AM
Meh, I think it's waaaaaaaay too plain looking. They all remind me of the mage dungeon set from TBC.Doesn't look intimidating at all.Rogues get a hilarious clownface for their raid sets thoughhttp://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/wotlk/armorsets/pve200_rogue.jpg[Edited on November 20, 2008 at 12:58 AM. Reason : clownface.]
11/20/2008 12:56:13 AM
IMO epics haven't looked intimidating ever since literally everyone in the game started wearing them (a.k.a: TBC/the PvP-ruining clusterfuck around that same era/whenever some dumbass thought the resilience stat was a good idea/probably the same dumbass who thought that giving out welfare gear from older seasons for honor was also a good idea).I'd be far happier knowing that my character doesn't look like a retarded multi-eyed personification of the Two Towers from LoTR. Frankly people are intimidated by great gear because they know what high-level gear looks like, not because great gear looks particularly scary. Then again, it's not like I care much, since I don't feel like shelling out even more money for the expansion/continued monthly playing fees. I'm sure I'll get back into the game in a year or so, once some more of my friends start playing (or restart playing), and by then I'll probably have the free time/money to blow on WoW. But for the most part this game is only particularly fun when you're playing with >2 people that you know IRL... Otherwise, totally not worth it at all.
11/20/2008 1:06:40 AM
I agree, arena gear should never have gone to honor. That whole thing pissed me off. Cheapens the whole thing.
11/20/2008 1:14:06 AM
PvE and PvP sets are on two different art and dev tracks now so there's going to be even less cross mixing and especially no more confusing what kind of gear people have. Tier dungeon sets will be easily identifiable as will Gladiator sets.Resilience also no longer works in PvE either as bosses ignore it so you can't be crit immune by stacking that stat as you could, sorta, before.I actually think the arena gear is what a foot soldier or warrior should be wearing. No more lantern sparky glow bullshit, but nittygritty battle gear. Not to mention, with the new graphics update, all that gear actually looks seriously beast in game - provided your system can run at max resolution. I agree that the clownshoes tentacle bullshit was getting out of hand- My paladin in full T6 looked like a flashlight, while in full sunwell, looked like a can opener. So far, I've been very pleased with the artwork in Wrath. In fact, its nothing short of downright stellar. Honestly, if you're the type of douchebag that just blows through content without stopping and reading quests, then I think you should probably skip this xpac. All the time and effort went into the environment and integrating lore with quests an multiple story arcs. For instance, you help a troll warlord betray his people to Arthas for a fiefdom and title, then two zones later you have to sneak into that warlords Necropolis, disguised, to gain his trust and eventually kill him. I mean COME ON, how is that not epic?I'm not going to even bother talking about the vehicle quests like riding the Storm King and demolishing scourge or jumping from proto drake to proto drake to duel titan females in a right of passage. There are so many minigames spread out.I also like how with phasing, as you progress the scenery and landscape changes. For instance, you start at the Argent camp in Icecrown while its being sieged by nerubian warriors, and then as you progress through quests to wipe them out, you gradually notice that the town isn't under attack anymore and there aren't any mobs around.
11/20/2008 1:29:30 AM
Yeah, just stopped before I take a tank into the mist wherever the horde starting area is. The game has been getting a lot better as I play.
11/20/2008 2:00:58 AM
