this country was such a great place to live before donald trump created racism, misogyny, islamophobia, homophobia, bad schools, and nuclear weapons. we used to care so much about peace and the environment and everyone was treated as equal...even people with disabilities.
11/10/2016 6:33:06 PM
What you described was a fantasy world that has never been argued by anyone. And thanks to trump, it will always be a fantasy. It's not perfect now so might as well go backwards right?[Edited on November 10, 2016 at 6:45 PM. Reason : That was a worse argument than Gary Johnson's global warming argument]
11/10/2016 6:43:58 PM
Not only did none of those things exist but as a nation, we've been the epitome of the opposite of the things on that list. theres a saying, "if you're not moving forward, you're moving backwards" and dems refused to leap forward.Dems can still make powerful speeches about all the progress we are making without being in office. Thats all they did in office anyway. That and weak "incremental" "babystep" legislation.
11/10/2016 6:50:53 PM
It's not specific to the presidential race, but I still don't understand why there wasn't more backlash towards the senators who obstructed Merrick Garland's nomination.
11/11/2016 2:25:18 PM
I don't understand why there wasn't more backlash to Obama nominating a "tough on crime" conservative.
11/11/2016 2:32:15 PM
I didn't expect the president to nominate a very liberal justice, given the fact that he or she would arguably be replacing the most conservative member of the Supreme Court.
11/11/2016 2:51:28 PM
i thought that was the point although im not familiar with the norms. the way liberals are freaking out seems to indicate that they believe GOP will aim to change the court with young, conservative justices.
11/11/2016 7:22:31 PM
Hopefully they will.

People have found all sorts of ways to feel better about this election already. Trump voters are rejoicing and mocking the rest of the country for feeling angry. Sanders supporters get to say "I told you so!" and enjoy the view from atop their high horse. Millennials are bitching about it incessantly on Facebook. Californians are working to secede from the country all together. I'm glad everyone has found a way to cope and be happy again
11/13/2016 2:40:16 PM
Trump Wins Michigan's 16 electoral college votes. 306 total.Turns out he didn't need FL's 29.
11/14/2016 8:49:13 PM
^ neither here nor there, but a little after 9 on election night, when mi was trending towards trump, i called it for Trump on my social media-- that was the upset.
11/15/2016 12:42:39 PM
This just in:More people voted against Hillary than for her.
11/15/2016 8:40:21 PM
This in a week ago:More people voted against Trump than against Clinton.
11/15/2016 8:57:12 PM
So what does she win?NOTHING!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
11/15/2016 9:13:28 PM
And what do you get? A guy who "spoke his mind and told it like it is," who is now backtracking and saying he doesn't believe that stuff about immigration and Obamacare.A guy who "will fight the establishment and drain the swamp," who immediately offered the top cabinet positions to Washington insiders.A guy who "will surround himself with the best minds," including a unapologetic white supremacist and anti-Semite.
11/15/2016 10:19:06 PM
^ Yup. Methinks the Trumpsters don't really know what they have elected.
11/15/2016 11:08:15 PM
^^ also looks like he's putting his family in top positions, seems like his son in law is the person who's really going to be the president.

http://www.newsweek.com/myths-cost-democrats-presidential-election-521044Some of the sanders opposition the GOP had. Was pretty bad but nothing much worse than trumps past. Would have taken some fighting but not insurmountable

Stopped reading here:
11/16/2016 11:24:32 AM
everyone is blaming bernie or bust people despite there not actually being evidence that points to them. are bernie or bust people responsible for kerry losing?it's a pretty convenient excuse though, so i can understand why it's being pushed, it's also an easy excuse because it means the democrats can continue on the same path without looking internally and making big changes
11/16/2016 11:38:09 AM
I'm not blaming them all that much. But I do think they suck almost as bad as Trump supporters for trying rub a hypothetical victory in everyone's faces.
11/16/2016 11:50:24 AM
Eichenwald is a fucking idiot. All the stuff in his Sanders opposition file was already public. There wasn't a secret video of Bernie talking about grabbing pussy was there? Because that would have surely sunk him.
11/16/2016 11:50:48 AM
^^ but the fact that his platform was ignored does need to be rubbed in their faces, because its a platform that needs to be adopted. sanders supporters can't sit idly by, they have to be active to make sure the message is heard so that the party can change course.
11/16/2016 12:08:26 PM
He was added to the Democratic leadership committee today for what it's worth.
11/16/2016 12:10:51 PM
him and warren
11/16/2016 12:12:11 PM
He was named to an "outreach" position, nothing to do with policy as far as I can tell. Basically a mascot. They even called it a "junior" position.[Edited on November 16, 2016 at 12:17 PM. Reason : .]
11/16/2016 12:15:16 PM
well Sanders is an indpendent, so you can't exactly make him party leader
11/16/2016 12:18:26 PM
he's serving out his term as an independent iircthey certainly could appoint him to a real position
11/16/2016 12:21:31 PM
its unrealistic to expect the democratic party to appoint an independent to a senior position. this role will allow him to have influence, and he should be in the outreach position because its what he should be doing for the party.
11/16/2016 12:26:27 PM
yeah the party isn't going to give itself up. Its going to have to die completely. They will prolly stay in denial through 2020

I mean, internment stood up to SC scrutiny... Then again, so did Dred Scott.

im not sure if donald trump or the word "normalize" is the worst thing to come out of this election
11/21/2016 12:15:09 PM
why?
11/21/2016 12:39:59 PM
im joking really but both sides are using the word to justify hostility. trying to reach common ground with someone you disagree with is now "normalizing", as if shouting over someone's sincerely held belief will make it disappear. apologies to anyone using it correctly.
11/21/2016 1:02:39 PM
if the liberals didn't all live in 1 state, maybe this would have a different outcome. hey dummies, MOVE!
11/21/2016 1:46:36 PM
seriously, if the "overvote" in CA, WA, OR, NY moved into other states, Hillary would have won both the popular vote (the one that doesn't matter) and the electoral college vote (the one that will make someone President....like Trump)

Sort of like how the American MSM spread fake news and didn't do their job. Out of all the leftist hissy fits post Trump, the "fake news" narrative is the most ironic. Keep it up, leftists. Give the Orange man 4 more years.
11/25/2016 12:39:25 PM
Not the same but I don't understand you to get that.[Edited on November 25, 2016 at 12:49 PM. Reason : if you said they spent time on stories that probably werent important then yes but you didn't..]

^^ remember when you said that terms like "trigger warnings" were bullshit because they were made up by one side of the discussion?[Edited on November 25, 2016 at 12:50 PM. Reason : asdf]
11/25/2016 12:50:14 PM
I'd challenge you to find a specific example of this "Russian propaganda" that is "fake news" that you think actually influenced people. The one thing it references is Hilary's health, which was referred to as a "right wing conspiracy" before we saw her collapse on September 11th. Which, was only revealed because a guy with his phone did what the mainstream media wouldn't dare to do. The entire "fake news" narrative is another joke from the liberal media... Who helped cost Clinton the election because they don't do their job, and now their solution is to try and censor actual journalists doing their job for them. And naturally, it wouldn't quite be a leftist excuse if they weren't someone blaming Putin for their dirty laundry.
11/25/2016 2:37:28 PM
remember when you said that terms like "trigger warnings" were bullshit because they were made up by one side of the discussion?
11/25/2016 4:44:31 PM
Yea, what's your point?

https://news.vice.com/story/fbi-may-have-been-investigating-trump-when-comey-announced-new-clinton-emails?utm_source=viceinstausI wonder if Alex Jones will pick this one up?
11/29/2016 6:17:37 PM
why would anyone pick that up, including the author?
11/30/2016 11:07:12 AM
Well, I guess you're not a conspiracy theorist.Oh wait, yes you are. You don't find it strange that the FBI was all too willing to inject itself into Hillary's campaign but uses rare (often associated with clandestine shit) language to describe its alleged investigations of Trump and delays the release until after the election?
