After earning over half a million miles via Suntrust's Delta AMEX they finally closed my account after a recent review. Was a fun run while it lasted.

Hah. Totally taking credit for these changes.http://millionmilesecrets.com/2015/05/12/bad-news-for-suntrust-delta-debit-cardholders/#more-125193

Damn, instant approval for all 3 BOA Alaska CardCiti Premier (for the second time)Chase United Personal (for the second time)
5/12/2015 4:26:08 PM
The only Citi I've ever had was an AA card. What's the best way to use ThankYou points?
5/12/2015 4:29:51 PM
You can essentially cash them out at 1 cent per point but with 50k I may try to use them elsewhere this time.
5/12/2015 4:36:22 PM
Who has the best balance transfer with 0% or low interest promo?
5/12/2015 6:17:19 PM
I get checks all the time for that crap. Can't shred them fast enough.

I'm too lazy to get the link, but discover it is running a double cash back promotion for 12 billing cycles. Existing card members are eligible; you just have to call in and ask for it. 10% off restaurants for the rest of the month. Next quarter is 10% home improvement, department stores and amazon.

Just managed to cash in 25,000 sky pesos for a last minute flight to Boston $547 retail

Some funny comments in there. Guy sounds depressing. Sleeps on planes, never actually sees the world just the airports and the occasional hotel. Does however make me want to work for an airline and get standby. My buddy works for United and flies all over the world for free on standby.

Does anyone have a Wells Fargo CC? They told me I could only get it if I already had a personal banking account with them.[Edited on July 23, 2015 at 10:55 AM. Reason : ]

My first credit card was Wachovia and it's Wells Fargo now. I rarely use it though. Sucky benefits.
7/23/2015 11:22:42 AM
Understood, but it looks to have a 500$ sign up bonus
7/23/2015 5:33:27 PM
in that case get an acct and then take all the money out
7/23/2015 9:36:25 PM
Pretty sure I got one without having an account with them, but they made me fax them two pay statements.
7/23/2015 9:41:29 PM
About to get a bunch of work done on my house - was wondering if anyone has seen any good sign up offers lately? I've done most of the standard ones.
7/26/2015 10:48:34 PM
Yeah, I've started redoing them. Really just depends if you're looking for something specific.I think the "85,000 Points With the AMEX Hilton HHonors Surpass Card" is the only sign up offer out now that's higher than usual.
7/26/2015 11:21:53 PM
Chase United is still at 50k. Fluctuates between that and 30k. Guess not that abnormal though.
7/27/2015 10:52:58 AM
KNot an offer to open, but my AMEX business card right now is offering $75 statement credits on purchases at a few places including Home Depot and Staples. Up to 5 credits Luckily my dad just happens to need some stuff from Home Depot., goiing to buy him 5 gift cards. Free $375![Edited on July 27, 2015 at 6:54 PM. Reason : K]
7/27/2015 6:53:52 PM
Last I checked it was $250 min purchase, but still a pretty good deal.I need to get some visas gcs after I mistakenly charged my hotel to my company card instead of my own. [Edited on July 27, 2015 at 8:54 PM. Reason : yeah, forgot about the chase united which I got last churn]
7/27/2015 8:54:29 PM

https://www.citi.com/credit-card-details/citi.action?ID=citi-thankyou-premier-credit-cardCiti Premier - spend $3k within 3 months, get 50k points (good for $500). First year fee waived.
8/1/2015 9:35:50 AM
That offer is pretty standard.Called to cancel chase's British airways card before the annual fee came due but they said they'd give me 9000 more miles for $1500 spend. Seems like a pretty good deal since AA's short haul flights are only 4500 miles each.[Edited on August 1, 2015 at 5:04 PM. Reason : ]

Cancelled my chase Hyatt. Got my free night for this year plus my annual fee refundedJesus Christ. The MasterCard online system to set your pin on a prepaid card is flaky as fuck.
8/12/2015 1:48:21 PM
All my cards have been replaced with chip and signature now. I'm hoping they transition to chip and pin soon! Still have to sign internationally. I think Chase said "sometime this year".
8/12/2015 1:59:42 PM

I was looking at that one, but doesn't it have a 495 dollar annual fee that isn't waived?I got approved for the 50K American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card last night, gonna churn the points and get gift cards with the two $100 fee waivers and cancel next year before the fee kicks in
8/27/2015 1:12:37 PM
It does. But in this instance, he gets 100,000 points and $200 additional towards one airline incidental charges of his choice, plus a lot of other benefits. So, its not a bad trade.
8/27/2015 3:16:44 PM
$200 X 2 since its per cal year. conservatively 100k pts are worth $1,000 plus I'll use the lounge access several times throughout the year[Edited on August 27, 2015 at 7:18 PM. Reason : ]

Ok, yall, I just did my credit report and it shows a dismal 515. What would be a good start a rebuilding my credit? I've already payed off all my outstanding debt, with the exception of medical bills I owe on from years ago. The loan I have now is paid current. Are secured credit cards worth it or is that a waste? Help me TWW credit magicians!
9/3/2015 6:36:36 PM
Pay off your medical bills.
9/3/2015 10:48:00 PM
Is the medical debt in collections? How many open lines of credit do you have? Do you have a significant other with good credit that you trust (and who trusts you)? If so, have them open a credit card and add you as an authorized user in the application. It will show up on your credit report just like it's your credit card and give a big boost to your score. Regardless, you should definitely get a couple of secured credit cards right now. As soon as you start getting offers in the mail for cards that don't have an annual fee (might take a couple of years), apply for them. Also, when you apply for cards do all your applications within a few days of each other and don't spread them out over time.[Edited on September 5, 2015 at 10:21 AM. Reason : ]
