players dropping passing left and right and not wrecking a frosh qb's shit isn't really his faultjust sayin'
11/27/2010 8:01:23 PM
Did anyone else catch the play by play guy butchering the pronunciation of Kernersville at the beginning of the gameI don't want to read back through this stupid thread[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 8:07 PM. Reason : Didn't realize O'Brien played at East Forsyth before that]
11/27/2010 8:06:40 PM
In no way did we deserve to win, but Ron Cherry stole that final chance from us. Words cannot describe how pissed I am.
11/27/2010 8:07:18 PM
playing playoff games with a broken ankle is pretty commonespecially for swedes
11/27/2010 8:07:22 PM
We beat ourselves pretty much the whole game. We gave them 2 of their touchdowns with turnovers and dropped way to many passes. We shouldn't have even been in position for that last call to make a difference, but we put ourselves there. It was a gallant effort coming back and the refs screwed us on that last call. He was atleast a yard from the sticks on the sideline.
11/27/2010 8:08:14 PM
Talk to me when I can actually see the bone (lol)

^what was he mentioning kernersville for??
11/27/2010 8:24:31 PM
I am disappointed that state just disappeared after the 1st quarter. At least I am $90 richer since I knew not to buy Championship tickets since it was State after all.
11/27/2010 8:29:30 PM
i didnt see a good game at all. We dropped some passes...but whose job is it to get into those players???????? THE COACH!
11/27/2010 8:33:11 PM
This has probably already been mentioned but nice job Archer of single coverage on their WR Smith on most of the plays. What was he thinking?
11/27/2010 8:34:02 PM
My biggest complaint is that we tried nothing to stop their receiver who caught everything. No adjustments were ever made and he had a ridiculous career day.
11/27/2010 8:38:03 PM
so should we still fire archer?
11/27/2010 8:40:57 PM

Bishop is garbage
11/27/2010 8:56:54 PM
Our defensive games plans are garbage. If Mike Archer isn't gone after this, I'm boycotting.
11/27/2010 9:05:38 PM
I'm pulling for va tech next week. At least them we can say they we probably not have won and be going to the orange bowl anyway
11/27/2010 9:08:03 PM
fuck the various emails i've gotten over the last 2 hours about buying FSU/VT tickets
11/27/2010 9:12:27 PM
well, maybe next year we can play more than one quarter per game. it might help... I'm just sayin
11/27/2010 9:17:24 PM
I don't think Archer deserves to go after this season, he and Tenuta turned this defense around drastically. However, we saw absolutely no improvement in the offense this year. I said on here after game 1 the offense was going to be our weakness and it was all year. Russell didn't play that great this year, and our WR's dropped a ton of catches. I'm hoping the same kind of adjustments we saw in the defense this year happens with offense next year, whether that means firing Bible or bringing in some top notch position coaches I don't care.
11/27/2010 9:22:28 PM
some asshole on my facebook page wrote: Sowwy State!I wrote: 8-4 and 4-0 against UNC the last 4 years. Enjoy the muffler bowl and NCAA sanctions, cheaterspromptly was defriended
11/27/2010 9:24:37 PM
our offensive issues this year all go back to shitty red zone play
11/27/2010 9:24:41 PM
in 2003 (Rivers' senior season), we finished 8-5. This year, we were predicted to finish toward the bottom of the ACC. Just a little perspective before everyone starts making their christmas lists of who they want fired/hired.
11/27/2010 9:31:16 PM
^true
11/27/2010 9:34:36 PM
season of inches
11/27/2010 9:41:14 PM
we had a motherfucking parade the last time we finished a season this good
11/27/2010 9:46:12 PM
have you ever considered that we were picked to finish near the bottom of the ACC because of who our coordinators are? We still finished middle of the pack in a piss-poor ACC, so don't go claiming moral victories for this season.
11/27/2010 9:51:34 PM
on the bright side, at least we won't be ranked in whatever bowl game we play
11/27/2010 9:53:31 PM
I haven't considered that, actually. And you know why? Because it's fucking stupid. I'm not claiming moral victories, I'm just pointing out that maybe the coaches deserve credit for playing above our level of skill. We've overachieved this year. I'm upset at the loss, but really, at what point in the year did we show that we are a top flight ACC team?
11/27/2010 9:54:24 PM
We don't have to claim "moral victories". We're a mediocre football program. Always have been.
11/27/2010 9:55:43 PM
so, is there a chance that State could go to the Music City Bowl?
11/27/2010 9:58:12 PM
God I hope so.Would like to play a Tennessee or Kentucky or something.[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 10:02 PM. Reason : ,]

gator bowl.
11/27/2010 10:01:40 PM
cause UT is probably headed there... that would be sweet
11/27/2010 10:02:42 PM
Oh fuck, we just thought alike.Time to kill myself.
11/27/2010 10:03:07 PM
we underachieved with the talent we have. I don't know what team you were watching all year, but we showed a tremendous amount of talent compared to the rest of the ACC. When you don't know how to execute a 2 minute drill, then you have coaching problems. When you don't know how to properly run cover-2 without getting burnt over the middle by every team we play, then you have coaching problems. When your team forgets how to form tackle, then you have coaching problems. When you have explosive offensive players that can't score in the red zone, then you have coaching problems.
11/27/2010 10:06:10 PM
we don't really have that much talent.and I'll add that our talent level was pretty commensurate with our performance/results. When receivers can't catch a ball lofted at them, then they're not particularly talented.\/ i'll agree with that. i'm speaking about the entire body of work of the season, not just today's game. but the "we have so much talent" excuse seems to be tossed around without much evidence to back it up.[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 10:15 PM. 11/27/2010 10:09:52 PM
no we didn't, but we had enough talent to beat Maryland
