Do people in your league use trade vetos for strategic purposes? One of the guys in my league vetoed my trade because he thought it wasn't a "fair" trade.
10/24/2008 2:04:40 PM
of courseyou never know if people have behind the scenes shit going, ie "if you trade me MB3 and Brees for a kicker and defense, I'll give you part of the money when I win the league"
10/24/2008 2:07:12 PM
So since "you never know", you just veto trades left and right?I was of the impression that a veto vote meant you thought there was cheating or collusion. Not that you just oppose a trade because of your perception of it, etc.
10/24/2008 2:26:32 PM
i don't, but if something seems really unfair i willif a trade seems legit i don't have a problem with itbut if you're fighting for one of the last playoff spots, and a team you're competing with for that spot might gain a big advantage from a trade, some people will veto it

Ok, that's just wrong IMO. The veto trade option isn't there for strategy...it's to prevent cheating. Whether a trade is "fair" is subjective...trades should be allowed for everyone if it's allowed at all, regardless of your record or your personal opinion of said team.Anyways....I'm being veto'd on my Julius Jones + Breaston for Reggie Bush (I get) trade.
10/24/2008 2:43:13 PM
in other news, Santonio Holmes got busted with 3 blunts and was "very cooperative and respectful"NFL/Steelers won't do anything until after it runs its course in the legal system, which I'd assume will be pushed back to next year so it shouldn't affect his fantasy status^that sounds like a fair trade to mevetoing trades is kinda grey territory...if only the commish can veto, hopefully he's reasonable...if its based on league votes, that seems more democratic, but some people will veto a trade if they don't like it[Edited on October 24, 2008 at 2:45 PM. Reason : .]
10/24/2008 2:43:46 PM
^^that's a legit trade.....is your league set up where 1 veto can stop a trade? You should be able to set up a vote, or commish only veto.[Edited on October 24, 2008 at 2:45 PM. Reason : .]

10/24/2008 2:49:27 PM
interesting...i guess teams are trying to be a little more proactive with their discipline without waiting for the league (ie Steve Smith, Plaxico, Larry Johnson)...and by teams, i don't mean the bengals
10/24/2008 2:58:03 PM
I hope deuce gets suspendedsince i scooper Pierre Thomas AND Aaron Stecker in my 5000 dollar league
10/24/2008 3:03:01 PM
i have brees and colston so i hope all the running backs get suspended
10/24/2008 3:10:41 PM
STUD RUNNING BACK UPDATE
10/24/2008 3:58:11 PM
Johnson or Boldin? Not sure if boldin is ready yet and you never know with ocho.
10/24/2008 5:07:36 PM
10/24/2008 5:53:15 PM
^^personally, i'd take the risk and start Boldin. Fitzpatrick (4.6 YPA) decreases Johnson's value and Johnson's been sucking ass all season anyway.
10/24/2008 6:24:28 PM
Mewelde Moore to start againhttp://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3662291
10/24/2008 7:42:55 PM
Who would you start start in the RB/WR spotVincent Jackson (London jet lag?)T.J. Houshmanzada (not sure palmers situation)Mewelde Moore (Giants have a real tough D)Weird lineup I know, but both Grant and Peterson are on a bye this week.
10/24/2008 11:45:07 PM
10/25/2008 12:14:24 AM
I was thinking of going with Garrard, it's just Roethlisberger is projected to have more points in my league.I know projections don't really mean anything, but whatever.
10/25/2008 12:32:28 AM
I've got Johnnie Lee Higgins as my backup WR and he's going to be returning kicks again this week. Return yards give the same amount of points as rushing yards in my league so I'm trying to decide if I should start him or a sick Derrick Mason. Oakland is @ Baltimore this week. Thoughts?
10/25/2008 2:34:54 AM
this is weird, i've never seen this beforein one of my money leagues, there are 6/12 people with a > 0.500 record.5/12 of us are all tied for first at 5-2.
10/25/2008 7:53:08 AM
jamal lewis at JacJulius jones at SFwho should i start?
10/25/2008 10:18:11 AM
Lewis will get all the touches so I would go with him.
10/25/2008 12:00:04 PM
10/25/2008 12:48:59 PM
i'm no expert or guru, so this is probably shitty advicebut with mewelde having such a great week last week, and being the #1 back for PIT this week with Parker being out....I don't see how you sit him, even against NYG. It's the steelers, they're going to run the ball. but keep in mind, this is what I've told myself considering I too have to decide whether to play him this week
10/25/2008 12:52:17 PM
thats tough, I'd probably go with Mewelde, as hard as that is for me to say
10/25/2008 12:53:07 PM
that one may be easy if deuce doesn't play
10/25/2008 1:23:44 PM
^^, That goes back to my conflict about this week at RB:
10/25/2008 1:23:55 PM
No way Parker may play some and the Giants D is pretty stiff.Stick with LT and Turner.Should I give up Thomas Jones for Colston while TJ is hot and Colston is down???? I have Barber/Gore/Slaton at RB so I don't really need him.
10/25/2008 9:19:47 PM
^ I would. I'm liking Colston to end the season strong and you are pretty set at RB.Grant and Stewart for Mojo? Thoughts?
10/25/2008 9:46:49 PM
In that same league though, I am being offered Gore for Fitzgerald.....so I have two offers on the table.[Edited on October 26, 2008 at 12:08 AM. Reason : ^Grant is slowly getting better....who you callin MoJo?]
10/26/2008 12:07:40 AM
Giants D or Washington D????
10/26/2008 12:36:52 AM
doesn't washington play detroit?
10/26/2008 12:44:21 AM
Washington plays the Lions....WTF why are you even asking?Giants play Steelers in a good matchup.
10/26/2008 12:44:34 AM
10/26/2008 9:47:06 AM
10/26/2008 9:48:09 AM
10/26/2008 9:56:40 AM
Deuce McCallister or Jonathan stewart?leaning toward deuce.
10/26/2008 11:13:53 AM
that's a tough one...I have them ranked very close to one another.Remember it's going to be another sloppy field in London, as it's been raining all day today.Deuce may finish with more total yards, but I can easily see Stewart getting a goal line score or two and about 80 yards.Start Stewart.
10/26/2008 11:26:26 AM
Hey Panthro:
10/26/2008 11:29:57 AM
I'm not quite sure who I should start this week.Mewelde Moore or Kevin Faulk. Any advice?
10/26/2008 12:03:22 PM
I'd say MooreI think Green-ellis will see a lot more carries than faulk.
10/26/2008 12:15:56 PM
Moore - even though the G-men have stout defense.Faulk's supporting cast is not used to creating a dependable run game.
10/26/2008 12:16:04 PM
ok, boldin's active. i've also got fitzgerald, so should i start boldin or kevin walter against cincy?
10/26/2008 12:24:25 PM
^boldin?Rhodes vs Tenn orBenson vs Hous[Edited on October 26, 2008 at 12:51 PM. Reason : .]
10/26/2008 12:43:35 PM
would you play green-ellis over jonathan stewart?
10/26/2008 12:52:12 PM
WR Quandry:Brown is out. Chambers is playing.Who do I start?K. CurtisC. ChambersM. Floyd
10/26/2008 12:55:51 PM
i wouldn't start Curtis just yet. give him a week or two to get back in to the flow
10/26/2008 12:56:59 PM
