Gravis said that offering Pateev was totally independent of the deal with Favors

The 2009 recruiting classes as of signing day. There are still prospects out there that could make this list change. I've bolded the ACC schools. It was funny reading all the GT fans comments in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution articles on Favors talking about why would Favors even consider NC State and that GT's class was so great. Eh, Duke will have to make up a lot of ground. Wall has a good relationship with Lowe and Calipari.

I do not doubt the chance of "NC State shit" happening.

I refuse to get my hopes up. I just won't do it and get my hopes stomped and pissed on again... but I'm giddy just thinking about it.I'm surprised Uconn isn't on the could be Top 5 list. If Durand Scott commits, they'd have the #'s 21, 41 and 65 in the class filling their only available scholarships...[Edited on November 13, 2008 at 12:16 PM. Reason : rivals]

i think we'll get wall
11/13/2008 12:19:49 PM
I think we a decent season, not win the ACC or anything, but a solid season for what we have to just help the confidence of Favors and Wall.I think both are going to wait and see how the season shakes out and I've read that Wall is trying to make sure his grades/SATs line-up with all the schools he's considering. So I think these kids are definitely doing the right thing for themselves.I'm a long-time State fan, so I know not to get my hopes up too much. But I think we have as good a shot with both as anyone else does, just gonna have to hope in the end they pick the good guys.
11/13/2008 12:51:45 PM
I wonder when they are expected to announce their commitments, or when they are expected to commit. I know Wall is visiting Memphis on Saturday. Maybe Favors will commit earlier since he already visited UGA and GT.
11/13/2008 3:42:39 PM
What's the deal on Lo Brown and company...did we get LOIs?
11/13/2008 4:26:30 PM
^I haven't heard anything. Someone on here said Wood signed, but I haven't seen anything to confirm it.What are they waiting for!?!?
11/13/2008 4:42:17 PM
Lorenzo Brown wont do anything until Monday when he has a PC with his friend
11/13/2008 4:56:11 PM
^Who's his 'friend'? Howell?
11/13/2008 5:12:37 PM
probably a HS teammate.... Howell signed at the same time his buddy/classmate did (Ari Stewart - Wake)

11/13/2008 6:20:42 PM
^Nice. It'll be interesting to see how Wood's senior year goes and if he lives up to the hype of "shooting better than reddick at this stage" hype.
11/13/2008 6:25:51 PM
I can't find the article link, but I read that Scott Wood is already Marion's all-time leader in 3-point field goals and shooting percentage and he still has a season to play. Never hurts to have a guy who can knock down the three.

11/13/2008 6:51:29 PM
^that was on espn
11/13/2008 6:53:27 PM
Well there's also been some big commitments during that time. Those rankings came out in late August. Kenny Boyton committed to Florida, Abdul Gaddy switched to Washington after Olson announced his retirement, Avery Bradley and Jordan Hamilton chose Texas, Ryan Kelly chose Duke, Daniel Orton chose Kentucky, Wally Judge committed to Kansas State, Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson committed to Kansas, Tyler Honeycutt decided on UCLA, and Rodney Williams committed to Minnesota. Those are all players that Scout has listed as higher than Lorenzo Brown (I don't agree with a couple of those being higher, but whatever). There were also other guys that committed to programs during that span and boosted those teams' rankings.[Edited on November 13, 2008 at 8:47 PM. Reason : ]

Have any of you looked at the "Derrick Favors please go to NC State" and the "John Wall please go to NC State" groups on Facebook? WTF is Cody Hawkins, the QB for Colorado, doing in the group for John Wall? Why does he want Wall to go to State?
11/13/2008 8:56:42 PM
interesting comments from Lowe about our signings. Howell is signing Monday with his teammate, but Lowe mentioned that Brown and Wood were signed but that there were others and they were optimistic there were no problems with them.
11/14/2008 1:24:34 PM
if there is someone else signing, it can't be wall or favors because they already said they'd wait. well, favors' coach said he "may or may not wait" but i'm not getting my hopes up.
11/14/2008 1:30:02 PM
evidently Wall and Favors are getting interviewed today(?) on ESPNU sometime between 4-6 for their signing day special

^ I would be careful reading into that statement that somehow we've got some silent verbals that are going to signLowe got in a little bit of heat talking about CJ Leslie who has not signed a LOI...coaches can't talk about recruits who aren't yet signed, so it may be that he was talking about Richard Howell...but that still doesn't explain the plural of "others"...probably nothing to see here
11/14/2008 1:50:19 PM
i just want to know one way or another so i can stop clicking on this thread every few hours and seeing chit-chat shit instead of reading recruiting "news"
