no way he was ever coming here - that just shows how delusional you are. we got played. Do you want me to list all the other coaches we thought were coming that never had any intention? Errr.

Based on everything I've heard/read/whatever about the coaching search that ended in Lowe being hired, Calipari was definitely interested in our job. Apparently not interested enough to take it, but everything coming out of the situation suggested he was almost our coach.

The rumor was he was very interested but declined after finding out most of his Memphis recruits wouldn't ave gotten into NC State (UNC system standards).

"rumor", i.e. it's all speculation. I heard just as many rumors about him playing up for money as I did otherwise, so I am going with my gut here.

Does changing my previous statement to "Donovan-Barnes Delusional" make it better for you all? I stand by my tongue-in-cheek analogies.

standing by it, as I clearly said. The preceding comment was a rhetorical question, GeniuSxBoY. Look, I think there was no way Cal was coming - we got played - and I don't give a shit what that crook says. It doesn't matter anyway we got the better man in the end.

this is hilarious. you paint a completely plausible scenario as delusional b/c you don't trust someone that you've never met, and then say in earnest that gottfried is better than the reigning national champ.

"The vote had been taken. It was unanimous. John Calipari was leaving. He was going to accept the NC State job.

Every assistant on the private jet flying through the spring night in 2006 from Memphis to Raleigh had his hand up. Assistant John Robic, who had been with Calipari at UMass, voted with his leg. It was their way of assuring the coach that they would all make the move to the new school with him.

"Yeah, we were gone," Calipari said last Friday as he ate fried chicken in one of his many spots along Beale Street, within eyesight of the FedEx Forum.

Calipari was enticed by NC State's commitment to the program, the financial considerations for his staff, and the challenge of facing the blue bloods at Duke and North Carolina."

Damn, you have horrible reading comprehension skills. I said better "Man" - not better shady recruiter of one-and-done teams. I'd rather have Gott than that win at all costs shitbag that would leave our school in sanctions. What's so fucking hard to understand about that?

haha.. yeah, it's safe to say he was comfortable here.

Also, lol @ that site saying the interview was "exclusive" content only for subscribers, but you can just scroll down and read the whole article a piece at a time anyway.

I would say that's a safe bet. Although beating out Lewis after he's got a year under his belt might be a bit tougher than he expects.

I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing three ball-handlers on the floor some times. Combos of Lewis/Turner/Barber/Purvis (if Purvis is still around).

Torian Graham has been cleared by the NCAA and is looking to enroll somewhere for the spring semester.

Thank God for small miracles. I know he chest bumped with Dean Smith once but he isn't a very good game coach and for a guy that would cost that much he hasn't won the big one or really come close in near a decade. If you're paying the big bucks you better be getting a champion.

So then what would be the advantage of enrolling in the Spring? Redshirt and have an extra semester of practice time?

Well if he wanted to come to State and sit out then that's what he should do. However, I doubt that he'll do that if he can play for UCLA or Kentucky without having to sit. How does Kentucky always find their way into every recruiting conversation we have. I swear, I'm starting to hate them more than Carolina.

UCLA hasn't started school yet from what I'm hearing.

The Wolfpacker article said that he would be immediately eligible to play wherever he enrolled. Of course The Wolfpacker article also was relying on Torian for the information about him being cleared:
Quote :
"Mark Armstrong ?@ArmstrongWTVD
Been told that Torian Graham has absolutely not been cleared for 2012. His stint at Pace Academy is Durham is what's problematic..."
