I rolled over in bed and started looking at deals before I even fully woke up this morning. In my groggy, dreamlike state, this is what I got:

http://tinyurl.com/bnyav5c

I rationalized it with the belief that it would be good for winter, the holidays, NC State game days, and tacky sweater parties. I don't return stuff by mail so if it doesn't work, I'm going to have to pay somebody to carry it back for me. There's no way I'm actually going in that store.

I'm looking for suggestions on a good spot for my sister's bachelorette party in Durham or Raleigh (prefer Durham). We want ridiculous fruity drinks and a fun place. There will be fewer than 10 people. No loud music plz, but karaoke or something would be nice. Any ideas? Thanks ladies!

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a stand mixer? My old one conked out after about 5 years of service. I need something that has dough hooks as an attachment too.

Spending-wise I'd like it to atleast be less than or around $100.

Thanks ladies, I guess I'll start searching everywhere and get a kitchenaid.

Also, let's talk again about Mirena. I've been thinking about making the switch. Anyone have any issues or complications?

I HATED the mirena. I always have very bad reactions with birth control in the first place. I had all the very normal side effects (bloated, extra bleeding, headache, weight gain) but then I would have things like itchy skin, clotting, and dizzy spells all the time. I am pretty sure you don't want to be pregnant anytime soon so it is good for that, for sure. I was on it a little over two years, took it out to try for Orion and got pregnant finally almost 9 months later. With Maya and Joel, pregnancy was almost instant (even though I did not try at all with Joel, it just happened by accident). I am NOT trying to start a battle but I am a person that believes once the sperm and egg meet then that is a baby. I will find the articles but it is way more harsh on your uterus than normal birth control because it is local, even though the amount of hormone is small. PLEASE DON'T START A DEBATE. I AM PRO-CHOICE OVERALL, not personally.

Lol I'm not sure why abortion is brought up

Anyways, I'm used to the hormones being local to the uterus, I've been on the ring since 2007. I just don't want the estrogen anymore, I don't like the pill, and it seemed like it fits all my criteria.

Is it cost effective? What's your period like with it? Any other folks have adverse side effects?

Kohls sent me a flyer today with a coupon for the kitchen aid mixer!

Concerning Mirena, you can also look into the copper IUD if you don't want any hormones in your system. I would have gone that route when I was having BC issues but there's some studies linking copper exposure to my food sensitivity so I stayed clear. And luckily the BC I got switched to works great because my doctor was seriously stumped! I'm on FemCon FE and I love it. I actually had to increase how much hormone I was taking and it's solved all my girl trouble (bleeding, break outs, etc).

I was just talking about how harsh it on the uterus...ugh....I shouldn't have brought it up.

It is def cost effective! I did have to pay out of pocket for most of it but it was way cheaper than monthly birth control cost over 5 years.

[Edited on November 28, 2012 at 8:25 PM. Reason : I used the ring too, that was my favorite form of birth control for sure]

There was a thread on IUDs, message_topic.aspx?topic=628859

I will say again how much I love mine. I did the ring for I think 3 years and loved it ... until my body decided to change how it responded to it and made me hate it.

I liked my mirena overall, but I definitely had trouble losing weight and I had some issues with depression, although that year was a particularly rough one so I'm not sure if it was the IUD or just life. Three months after taking it out I was 20 LBS lighter and loads happier.

mine is $40/month but i can't have the generics otherwise mine would be free but it's okay - the generic was slowly killing me by making my body produce too much cortisol.

update on the mixer:

I asked my mom for her opinion because she's had her sunbeam for 45 years and loves it. but she was adamant that I had to get a kitchenaid, like you guys said. Then her and my dad went to lowes and found one, they took a print out of it for sale for $199 and made them price match and then used my dad's VA discount. So I guess I have a kitchenaid now.

merry christmas to me

Cousin's failed boutique adventure again leads me to score free stuff. Got three pairs of black soho girls leggings, marika workout pants, cabi skinny jeans and a black bobi tank and v neck T.

She also sent me what can be described as no other than mom jeans elastic band top and errythang.
Actually...they aren't bad. Miraclebody jeans? Whatever...I'll rock em they're free!

So I just bought these epic boots at Nordstrom today but I tried them on for longer than 3 seconds after I got home and the zipper on one of them is unraveling at the bottom I got the last brown pair in the entire store and I don't really want to return them if they can't be replaced. Does anyone think they'd get the zipper fixed for me?

I got these in the brown

We'll need to see a picture of you in just the boots to tell for sure, but yeah worst case scenario you return them and have them order a new pair, or you take them to a cobbler and get them fixed.

I got some Vintage Shoe Company Bastrop's during black friday sale ness for $96 (with some cashback not including):

They are.. so awesome. The leather is so nice. I keep them in the box so I can keep opening and smelling their delicious leather smell.
