LOL! Do you have any actual evidence CNN ran that ad?

You know, pointing out that a Sinclair station ran a horrible ad is not at all the same as running that ad, yourself. I mean, hell, you're doing exactly the same thing CNN did.

Keep up this level of incompetence and you're gonna lose your IRA job, son.

Letting these for profit media conglomerates run the debates def has major problems. Thats one place I can agree with Earl.

So I'm not sure if his quote was taken out of context, but it sounds like Beto wants to come for AR-15's already in one's possession.

Regardless if Beto really even has a chance at winning this thing, Trump could use this as a rallying cry..."See? They really DO want to take your guns"

^^ I believe Beto actually wants buybacks.

To your point though: Republicans have been saying that since forever, regardless of the actual Democratic position. Not sure how this time will be materially different.

And let's not pretend Trump (or the rest of his party) gives two shits about the truth. If Trump thinks it's to his advantage to say something, he'll say it.

this debate sucked ass. sanders and warren won the medicare part, everything else was a bunch of people lying about what they'd do in office.

Because the field is still too diluted. Trump breezed through the RNC primary in 2016 because it became the world vs him...you were either with him, or you were spread out among 18 others who individually couldn't make a splash. If that primary had been just Trump, Kasich, Cruz, and Rubio from the beginning, it would have been something completely different.

If we had a debate only made up of Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, and we didn't have to waste airspace with people who have zero chance of winning, at least one of them would be looking a lot stronger right now.

Imagine a basketball game where every single player, including those on the bench, had to be passed the ball before anyone could take a shot.

I think probably Castro and Warren and Bernie are my 3 top choices.

Castro would have the toughest time beating Trump though largely because of his racial background.

Imagine thinking the board of a major corporation would not strategically run operations in a way that would maximize profits across the board. Being a conspiracy and click-based horse race garbage are not mutually exclusive but even if it was only the latter, that would still be unacceptable from people claiming to be journalists. They need to be barred from calling themselves journalists and reclassified as entertainment. They need to be forced to run a warning label explaining that they are not journalists. All debates should take place on CSPAN.

It was designed this way. They changed the rules to create their desired result. They proactively rigged the primary this time around.

Sanders said he supports "any appropriate constitutional mechanism to hold him accountable."

Some insider information on the WFP thing:

https://twitter.com/CDRosa/status/1173622863796015104

Quote :
"I heard the board got a signal from big donors that those donors would only fund a WFP IE if it was for Warren. It is what it is, we know Bernie continues to have the biggest base of support among working families, and that he is the best for our working families."

Separately, at a certain point, Bernie->Warren converts have to be concerned about the glowing coverage she's receiving from establishment newspapers. Why would they leave Bernie out and paint this as a Biden vs. Warren race? Hmm...

^Harris could still come back with a good showing in Iowa. If Biden keeps bumbling his way through debates and press conferences the centrists might be looking to her for stability. But otherwise no, everyone else is done.

It's still 9 months before the DNC 2020. So still plenty of time to find your favorite candidate. And the next debate in October even may expand back to two nights.

The October debate has 11 qualifying candidates now that Tom Steyer bought his way onto the stage. And could be even more that qualify, Oct 2 is the qualifying deadline

CNN/ABC haven't officially announced that it will be 2 nights, but I would be surprised if it's not. More airtime to get paid for ads

There was controversy a few months ago about Pete Buttigieg having fired the police chief in South Bend after he became Mayor. Some new information has come out on this event. Wonder how much this will affect his campaign? Honestly surprised it hasn't been talked about more

Quote :
" Legal documents related to Pete Buttigieg’s ousting of South Bend’s first black police chief describe a plan by white police officers in 2011 to use Buttigieg’s campaign donors to get him to remove the chief, Darryl Boykins, once Buttigieg became mayor.

“It is going to be a fun time when all white people are in charge,” one officer is quoted as saying in the documents, which describe secret police recordings. The previously undisclosed documents shed new light on the most controversial chapter of Buttigieg’s South Bend political career."

white people didn't like south bend's black police chief so they had donors and buttigiegs campaign chair lobby to remove him. buttigieg acted like he wanted to get to the bottom of things and know what was on the recordings but wasn't allowed to, but actually his lawyers listened to the tapes in 2013.

it's all a bunch of well documented corruption, i don't think anything directly involved buttigieg but he went along with things

If the green party isn't a threat to reach any key thresholds, I'll probably hold my nose and vote for Warren in a general (wouldn't tell my friends on the left), but I''m hard on her typical supporters because of their reasoning. To me, there is no acceptable reason why someone who is actually progressive would prefer Warren over Sanders. They are actually just a bunch of moderates who want itsy bitsy change. Heres the list of reasons I've heard and please feel free to add yours if its not on there

-She's a woman
-She's a better speaker
-She's younger
-She has laid out detailed plans
-She's a capitalist
-She will be best for the middle class

Most of the people who relate with her are the wealthy and educated big city liberals who know progressive values are best but at the same time, don't want to do anything too disruptive to the advantages they get by being middle class. To the actual left, the existence of a middle class is offensive because it implies a lower class as well as an upper class in addition to that middle class. We don't want a middle class. We don't even see things that way. Theres a working class and a capitalist class. We want to do things to help the working class as well as people who aren't able to work.

If your vision for America is capitalism with more regulation sprinkled in, you are supporting Warren
If your vision for America is continuing Obama's legacy, you're supporting Biden
If your vision for America is a radical shift towards social democracy, you're supporting Sanders

Sanders is going to get a huge chunk of the delegates, and so are the bottom dwellers. Unless something catastrophic happens to Biden (which i dont see the republicans releasing until a year from now), he's going to get a big chunk as well. I just don't see any way this doesn't end in a contested convention with superdelegates choosing the nominee.

I'm split between Warren and Sanders as my second choice behind Yang, though I find myself leaning toward Warren. I def have some reservations about her (just as I do for Bernie and Yang too), but I also feel that a lot of Bernie supporters in particular are overly dismissive of her, call her a neoliberal trojan horse and stuff like that.

[Edited on September 18, 2019 at 12:59 PM. Reason : there are no perfect candidates. but there are def many candidates who I'd rather see POTUS vs Trump]

I'd vote for Warren in the general but imho she's just a very watered down version of Bernie who would appoint a cabinet slightly to the left of Obama. One of the big reasons I'm excited for a Bernie presidency is because of who he'd hire into his administration. His foreign policy and economic advisors are actually pushing boundaries, and that's a big deal.
