red gazing ball in my grandparent's garden

Hello,I don't have a dslr, but I was taking pictures of the trees in my town and they came out pretty well, except for some slight blurring around the edges. Would anyone have any idea as to why this happened?
12/1/2006 10:45:49 AM
your pic is kinda overexposed and you may not have image stabilization (IS)Move up the shutter speed if the object is in motion (i.e. tree blowing in the wind?) especially in bright light (i.e. daytime).http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/fototech/apershutter/shutter.htmDepth of Field is a lil off too. So you're focused only on objects closest to you. Adjust w/ manual focusing and f-stop.[Edited on December 1, 2006 at 8:45 PM. Reason : ]

^jackleg picked a good one.that is my "starter lens"well it was my first "real" lens i invested in and it is a hell of a lens. i thought about selling it but can't because i love it too much to actually follow through. fairly cheap for a wide to tele lens. sharp sharp sharp. little distortion. slow focusing but very small. much smaller than the 28-90 quantary actually.

From my grandfather's. We did Christmas with the extended family this past weekend.I think the tone on these might be a little warm. Still figuring out how to process these on the mac so they look right on PCs, as well.
12/18/2006 8:15:19 PM
Ewwww, direct flash.First step I'd take would be to avoid that.
12/18/2006 8:29:02 PM
Any suggestions? I'm working with an S3IS in a dreafully lit house.

^^Use an index card to bounce the flash, or some tissue paper to diffuse it some. Direct flash is ewww.Use available light when necessary.
