this needs some more girly updates.

I got some cute panties on sale from VS. you really don't need to wait for their huge sale, they are slowly trying to get rid of things b/4 the crowds come.

Okay, ladies, for my wedding - Full veil that covers my face, or veil with comb that tucks under the updo part of the hair?

Perhaps - I've not shopped extensively for a veil yet My sister-in-law had trouble finding one that did both though - She had to have material or something added to hers to have the veil over her face for hers (this was 8 years ago). I'll look into it - was just looking for an opinion about the two "look" options

I went out and bought the dolcissima shade (lighter one) earlier and I think I'm in love. It's not too shiny, but it definitely adds a bit of a kick to someone who doesn't wear makeup on a regular basis.

I got my hair cut last night (hadn't had it cut in like 5 months) and a mani/pedi (about the same amount of time since I had it done).

I feel pretty, oh so pretty!

god i'm such an ebay makeup whore. i spent about $55 on two different auctions on ebay, and who knows if I'll even use any of the stuff.

but i'm going wednesday for a hair cut. haven't had one since mid-april, and that was more of a trim. i'm debating on how i should cut it. it's medium, shoulder-length (well it hits my shoulder). but my hair is really fine/thin. idk what would work with my face and style of hair. any ideas?

I think it's funny that girl's buy lip plumpers or get fat injections, when all you need to do is soak your lips in salt water...

Anyway, I'm in love with Too-Faced Pink Chocolate Palette...

^^ I get my eyebrows waxed, but I will absolutely not put hot wax on hair anywhere else.

meanwhile I hate getting my eyebrows waxed because it's too close to my eyes and I get nervous.

I figure dripping a little wax down there isn't going to be nearly as bad as on my face or anything

i shave, dammit! but that skin does not do so hot with a razor to it all of the time. nair ftw most of the time, but i was just contemplating in general about waxing them.

hahahaha

getting my eyebrows waxed really doesn't hurt that much, it's not a lot of hair

but you're out of your mind

being a little crazy does help

and getting your underarms done is reasonably cheap where I went (generations salon) but the results didn't last that long for me.

In general, you get what you pay for. I would go to nail/eyebrow places and got burned (literally haha) a few times, and switched to this other place and I love it.

Now if only I could afford waxing on a regular basis...

I have no clue. It was a pretty big deal.

Almost makes me wanna go get one to have on hand just in case (my parents have actually talked to me about keeping one on hand for my sister, since she'd never go to them but would come to me), and see just how ardently those soapbox pharmacists stand up to an assertive customer

And how far up the company hierarchy I could take any resulting complaints.

More like uninformed abstinence-only sex education and withholding contraceptives encourages unprotected sex. If someone's going to be promiscuous with the availability of the Plan B pill, they're going to be promiscuous without it. There's no point in denying it to all because of the misconceptions about a small group of potential users. [/soapbox]

More on the thread topic, I just wanted to put in another rec for the Design Gallery for a great haircut. I love what she did so much more than the horrible cut I got back home last week. I think I'll be going to them to fix it (and I think I'll go short again).

Kayne from Project Runway has designed some cute shoes. http://johnathankayne.com/shoes.php Speaking of PR, I'm so mad that TWC doesn't offer Bravo in Raleigh.

Much like one of those baptist nutjobs who actually said on News14 that if the HPV is included in the battery of vaccinations that the state pays for, young girls will engage in premarital sex.

...My jaw damn near put a hole in the floor, as they typically stop JUST short of statements like that. I wish to god I could remember the fella's name.

Seriously...try to get it. When folks realize they're dealing with someone who knows both the law and their rights, they get awfully compliant with a quickness.

i don't have anything better to add to the plan b stuff since ambrosia, mcfluffle, and tartsquid said it more intelligently/eloquently, but i agree that it's freakin insane that pharmacists are doing this.

I know.

What I'm getting at is that if you're feeling mischevious and have some time to kill, you can really ruffle their feathers by essentially making them man up and do their fucking job. IIRC, they can refuse to sell you a medication based on moral/religious objections, but if you request assistance from them in getting said medication, they must help you.

Research + balls = grand times
It's a slow night at work, so I've already started poking around to see exactly what's required and what's not of NC pharmacists.

Well that's why I got my HPV shots, of course, I'm just having soooooo much sex these days. These people are absolutely crazy.
