yeah i lvld my rogue up to 21 and said...what am i doing. made a priest instead.
3/30/2005 6:24:42 PM
mages and priests are the most wanted right now i'd think, well on my server at least.
3/30/2005 10:01:43 PM
I got to 41 with my Hunter and I have just been unmotivated with what to do. I think it has something to do with my lvl 15 Warlock that I have on PvP and I am finding Warlock to be fun and frustrating at times. Is there anything that I should start doing at 40? I have mail armor, and I have done the Dragonscale quest. I just don't know if I should try and grind, quest or what. But I am still finding this game to be very rewarding. My guild is kinda weird. Anyone have a very good guild with mature people on Medivh? I would like to find a smaller group of folks so that there isn't just endless chatter about everything.
3/30/2005 10:13:08 PM
it's all about being in a good guild. my guild has about 100 60's in it (almost all 60's, a few 50's) and we have an age requirement of 18+... some 16,17's let in.
3/30/2005 10:19:33 PM
I know it's not such a huge deal on PvE, but PvP it can be crucial. Sadly it seems like the kiddies are even more immature on Stormscale. If there are any Alliance folks here on Stormscale and are in a good guild, drop me a PM.
3/30/2005 10:26:09 PM
A lot of guilds just have that big 'holier then thou' thing going. EPK (Horde on Gorefiend) really pissed me off a few weeks ago. EPK and some miscellaneous were raiding Southshore, and they didn't let anyone in their raid group, nor communicated with us at all. When Alliance started showing up and fighting, they all mounted up and left the rest of us to get slaughtered. They spent the next 10 minutes on horseback trying to "flank" Southshore, but mostly doing jack unless they saw a few strays.Guilds are good sometimes, but ours seem to divide our faction.
3/30/2005 11:02:30 PM
thats the way it will be since there is a lack of good pvp. you get jackass guilds that form to make their own raid groups and whatnot and treat ppl like shit and fight with each other. at least this game is mostly instanced so it isnt as much of an issue but you still have pricks that are bossy and think they know everything.ps. pvp with a warlock is gonna be risky. i like it and we arent terrible (no class is really that terrible), but there are a lot of issues/bugs that need to be worked out and probably wont be soon. we got a lot of potential and with the right spec can dish out dmg, but got a few big hindinering issues.[Edited on March 30, 2005 at 11:22 PM. Reason : that said, it is by far more interesting to play in general though.]

I am sick of Tuesdays being a no-go for playing and then you screw me out of an hour and a half on Thursday so that you can make up for screwing me over two days before. *Shakes fist at Blizzard*. On a side note, what level should I start paying attention to the calls to go to Uldaman and Mauradan?

Hey I have never gotten an MMORPG yet, but I have played the shit outta some like Morrowind. Think I wanna get in on this. How much is the game per month and do you suggest getting in it? I only can play a few hours in the evening every weekday, as I work about 11 hours a day.

Is the Sniper's Scope the best thing to put on a bow? I want to make sure before I perminantly attach one to my Epic Bow.
4/1/2005 8:56:58 AM
^ i believe so, i haven't heard of anything better, but im sure they'll add something eventually. i beleive you can always reattach something new (thats how enchanting works at least).^^ if you have a few hours a night you should be ok until you reach lvl 60. at 60 most raids take 1.5-3.5 hours to complete and its about the only thing you can do unless u like jerking off while killing lvl 20 ppl. 1-50 is pretty easy and most lvls wont take longer than 6 hours to finish so you'll feel you are getting a lot done. you can quest solo or, if you feel like it, do low level instance dungeons for some quests and decent loot (but those take a whiel too and you dont get much xp lest u have a ton of quests). once you hit early-mid 50's levels slow down to about 8 hours a lvl and then at the very end around 10, so those are rough but not compared to most other mmo's. when you arent playing you get a "rest bonus" so next time you come in you get 200% exp for each mob you kill until a certain point (and quests dont count towards that total luckily). i beleive if you dont play for like 5-6 days you reach a max of 1.5 levels of double exp. it isn't insane but you'll definatley notice a difference. this will help you since you'll be slightly more casual and you'll get 1-3 bubs of that experience every day (outa 20).[Edited on April 1, 2005 at 10:04 AM. Reason : its fun, dont get me wrong, but if you play a lot of MMO's and hit 60, you get bored]
4/1/2005 10:03:34 AM
so how fun is soloing? One thing I was looking forward to with this game was being able to solo. Is it even doable?
4/1/2005 10:39:57 AM
You can solo grind fairly easily up through 50After that it takes progressively longer to level unless you mix in some questing.
4/1/2005 10:41:13 AM
but are there quests and story archs you can do solo?
4/1/2005 10:43:07 AM
Ive soloed my way to 20 in just a few days. I think its just as easy and fun as grouping plus you can go at your own pace.
4/1/2005 12:18:24 PM
to answer your question, you can solo all the way to the level cap and never talk to another person if you want to. you can do this either by grinding the standard mmo way, or questing in various zones. there are lots of little stories and they bridge to take you to new areas where you can find higher level quests. you usually dont have to go looking for a new zone, a quest will take you there. i am lvl 60 and only did grinding for a total of maybe 2 levels. if i wanted to grind id have stayed in daoc or eq, questing is almost or equally as fast as long as you have plenty of quests in the area ur at.as a warrior or rogue or the like you have food you can eat to regain health VERY quickly between battles, and healers have plenty of offensive spells to solo with (and water to regain mana quickly). some classes obviously have it easier (pet classes), but all are pretty easy to solo with.[Edited on April 1, 2005 at 12:50 PM. 4/1/2005 12:49:24 PM
It's so great to come back at level 53 to Tarren Mill and kill all the level 30s at Southshore.
4/2/2005 12:11:04 PM
if that entertains you for more than an hour on any given week you either: are way too bored and need to find something to do, dont like a challenge, or suck at real pvp.i dont mind ganking people and do it now and then, but really, i dont see how people sit around for hours in lakeshire or something and gank lvl 20's and then hide when higher lvl people come out. i see it all the time.[Edited on April 2, 2005 at 1:21 PM. Reason : not saying u do, but in general]
4/2/2005 1:19:46 PM
they're not allowing roof camping anymore :-(its retarded. If its a pvp server they should either allow it, or get rid of the guards. Or atleast tone them down.
4/2/2005 1:32:27 PM
its an exploit and required no skill. it wasnt all that annoying cuz it usually wasnt very powerful ppl up there and they could only hit you for like 2 seconds.i liked when priests would go to the back of the inn to heal and you could hit them with ur imp from outside the town. they never see it comin.[Edited on April 2, 2005 at 3:14 PM. Can we do a new round of people posting pics of their chars? I would be interested in what everyone is playing now.
4/2/2005 4:34:48 PM
you get shit for raiding?
4/2/2005 4:35:45 PM
you need to form a raid group for the upper level dungeons since a 5 man group isn't big enough. It's not the standard horde vs. human raid.
4/2/2005 4:37:42 PM
munchkin army for the win. plus i know how much a few of u love gnomes.
4/2/2005 5:18:34 PM
Okay, I want to play an undead character on a PvP server but I don't know what job to pick. I have an Alliance warlock on Stormscale so I kinda don't want to play another one. I started a priest and got to level 7 and I feel really dinky. What would you guys suggest?
4/2/2005 8:21:19 PM
alcanis checking in on medivh
4/2/2005 9:07:21 PM
^^dinky? priests destroy other players...
4/2/2005 9:33:30 PM
As a warlock, I would choose either talioring to make cloth armor and bags or herbalism/alchemy to make potions. To compare the two, look at http://www.thottbot.com/?t=Alchemy and http://www.thottbot.com/?t=Tailoring . I would probably go with alchemy, since you can loot better armor than you can make with talioring.
4/2/2005 9:33:48 PM
you can do some terribly suggest shit with the jestures
4/2/2005 9:52:41 PM
seriously though, preists romp ass. especially undead shadow priests. they get super heal dot, i wish my warlock had one.
4/2/2005 9:59:37 PM
if you do engineering, it gives you a direct advantage over any non-engineers in PvP since any good engineering item requires engineering to use as well as create, whereas you could still buy your cloth armor from other tailors and be able to use it without being a tailor.
4/3/2005 9:24:46 AM
The small rodent creature in the picture above is crucial to that Gnome's pvp tactics. Without him, the Gnome's entire gameplan is shot.
