no they pretty much said what Trish said. it's a cream patent leather. it's almost as if something bled into the leather. it's the strangest thing because it wasn't in a hot climate where something could melt into it and i wouldn't have put it somewhere where it could have gotten dirty. it almost could look like mold - is that possible?

haha there are a 2,200 members in the DC chapter... i just think it might be a good way to meet new people, i just don't want to get in there and have it all be super preppy and stuck up.

There will be A LOT of that....but I feel the same way. It would be nice to meet some genuine people that enjoy doing a little charity stuffs every now and again.

The cunts almost overrule that though

DC would be a nice group, I think. Raleigh just has too many wanna be ladies if you know what I mean. I think you'd get a nice mix where you be.

Junior league of Central Florida is pretty awesome. Those ladies know how to party. But Central Florida is not pretentious. I've heard some of the other chapters can be a filled with a blend of hoity toity folks and posers.

i've been weighing the Junior League thing heavily for quite a while now...

I have friends on both sides of the spectrum in the Raleigh League...

I can only be so active in my church because I don't live in Wilson...but I need to do something worthwhile with my life other than work...I'm burnt out on all of my alumni associations...

but really i just want to meet a rich ITB husband

I've always thought "In the Butt" but according to Urban Dictionary, it also means "Inside the Beltline"

if you're in the Raleigh area and you're looking for a group to join and you love the art museum, check out joining the NCMA Contemporaries http://contemporaries.org/

I went to state, always lived off campus, drove everywhere when I didn't live near the wolfline and had no idea what ITB meant.

Do y'all take supplements? Just curious. I currently take the following:

Calcium + Vitamin D supplement (I can't consume dairy)
500 mg Niacin Supplement
Gummy Multi-Vitamin
3000 mg Spirulina Supplement
Chocolate Green Superfood from Amazing Grass (one or two servings per day)

I've also considered the JL, but I am super intimidated by the fact that the closest one to me is the Greenwich, CT one. It can easily be named one of the most hoity toity places in America.

^^ Yeah, I think it's all relative to where you live. I'd imagine a lot of southern towns would have a lot of debutante types, and northern cities might have your Kennedy types.

Newer cities/towns without a rich heritage/culture would probably be a bit more diverse/interesting/welcoming.

The closest one to me is in NYC. I looked up the Junior League and it sounds awesome but I can't be around women that might not want to get to know me because I am a hot mess. I wish I could start my own thing. I always said if I were wicked rich I would have my own volunteering/charity non profits.

I am in the Junior league of Durham and Orange counties. Very laid back ladies. No residency requirement like the Raleigh league.

There are all types of people in the league.

The league is what YOU make of it.

My provisional group was great. We all got along, most of them were wives of Duke grad/med students.

I think I met ONE or TWO snotty people total. Honestly the Raleigh league is a bit intimidating. ESP the Spree committee.

If you want a local idea of a nice small league, try the durham league. There is a provisional class starting in January. If you live in Wake County.........you can always transfer. I do believe there is an inter-league membership option as well.

Having said that; this is my first active year as a leaguer. I do not know all of the ins and outs. Your mileage may vary

Well, they're basically hose with a built in garter belt. They make crotchless pantyhose that offer a bit more coverage.

I understand/agree, but that doesn't change the fact that they would create the fugliest "panty" lines

I think that is a matter of opinion. I imagine those are some 'panty lines' that a discerning man might appreciate.

I never heard the term "ITB" while I was at State. Not a single time. Anywho... thanks for introducing/defining it!

Supplements: I use to take a bunch for other medical reasons, but a new doc has me backed off (basically) everything. She doesn't mind that I take some folic acid and biotin, but that's because I have a desperate need for improved hair/nails and get bratty when I can't help that vain cause. That said, I'd be outright mean if somebody took those away from me. The iron supplements aren't bad, but even with them I'm completely unable to donate blood, so I don't even see the point.

the new BC i am on (which is pretty stellar by the way and i am FINGERS CROSSED that it eliminates a lot of the problems i've been having lately) has added iron to it and i noticed i have a bit more energy during the day (which is odd considering i eat enough red meat that my iron levels should never be low).

my BC is also a chewable

For those above looking for volunteer help in the Raleigh area but are hesitant on the JL- there are other simliar leagues. Theres the Charity League http://www.nationalcharityleague.org/ or Junior Womens http://www.jwcraleigh.org/ that I know of.

FYI- Charity league mentions how both mom and teenage daughters are members, but I dont think you have to have a daughter that is that age to join. I have a friend that is member in a different area and she doesnt but every chapter could be different!
