any ladies members of a junior league?
10/16/2012 8:23:56 AM
thought about ithaven't decided if I want to pull the trigger because I seriously dislike a few of the girls in that organization lol
10/16/2012 9:11:41 AM
haha there are a 2,200 members in the DC chapter... i just think it might be a good way to meet new people, i just don't want to get in there and have it all be super preppy and stuck up.
10/16/2012 9:13:03 AM
There will be A LOT of that....but I feel the same way. It would be nice to meet some genuine people that enjoy doing a little charity stuffs every now and again. The cunts almost overrule that though
10/16/2012 9:16:15 AM
hahahwell hopefully there will be some non-cunts that i can bond with
10/16/2012 9:19:31 AM
DC would be a nice group, I think. Raleigh just has too many wanna be ladies if you know what I mean. I think you'd get a nice mix where you be.
10/16/2012 9:22:18 AM
10/16/2012 9:32:40 AM
maybe i'd enjoy the crazies
10/16/2012 9:33:13 AM
it could be entertaining. i just don't have time to deal with it. but i love the stories.
10/16/2012 9:41:59 AM
A girl I went to high school with is very active with the Raleigh one ( I think it's the raleigh one). She is...well, she's something else.
10/16/2012 9:58:28 AM
Junior league of Central Florida is pretty awesome. Those ladies know how to party. But Central Florida is not pretentious. I've heard some of the other chapters can be a filled with a blend of hoity toity folks and posers.
10/16/2012 11:10:28 AM
well we'll see how this goes
10/16/2012 11:15:33 AM
i've been weighing the Junior League thing heavily for quite a while now...I have friends on both sides of the spectrum in the Raleigh League...I can only be so active in my church because I don't live in Wilson...but I need to do something worthwhile with my life other than work...I'm burnt out on all of my alumni associations...but really i just want to meet a rich ITB husband
10/16/2012 2:54:40 PM
What does ITB mean?
10/16/2012 3:27:29 PM
I've always thought "In the Butt" but according to Urban Dictionary, it also means "Inside the Beltline"
10/16/2012 3:30:58 PM
Don't see how you could have gone to State for four years and not know what ITB means.
10/16/2012 3:34:14 PM
Ah yes! I've been gone since 2006, so that acronym slipped my mind.
10/16/2012 3:37:44 PM
if you're in the Raleigh area and you're looking for a group to join and you love the art museum, check out joining the NCMA Contemporaries http://contemporaries.org/
10/16/2012 3:39:54 PM
I went to state, always lived off campus, drove everywhere when I didn't live near the wolfline and had no idea what ITB meant. [Edited on October 16, 2012 at 3:47 PM. Reason : ...]

Do y'all take supplements? Just curious. I currently take the following:Calcium + Vitamin D supplement (I can't consume dairy)500 mg Niacin SupplementGummy Multi-Vitamin3000 mg Spirulina SupplementChocolate Green Superfood from Amazing Grass (one or two servings per day)
10/16/2012 3:57:43 PM
I've also considered the JL, but I am super intimidated by the fact that the closest one to me is the Greenwich, CT one. It can easily be named one of the most hoity toity places in America.:/
10/16/2012 4:06:26 PM
^ Your wedding was awesome looking. Why don't you ever talk to me anymore
10/16/2012 4:07:34 PM
^^ Yeah, I think it's all relative to where you live. I'd imagine a lot of southern towns would have a lot of debutante types, and northern cities might have your Kennedy types.Newer cities/towns without a rich heritage/culture would probably be a bit more diverse/interesting/welcoming.[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 4:08 PM. The closest one to me is in NYC. I looked up the Junior League and it sounds awesome but I can't be around women that might not want to get to know me because I am a hot mess. I wish I could start my own thing. I always said if I were wicked rich I would have my own volunteering/charity non profits.
10/16/2012 4:29:15 PM
I take iron 65mg and Women's One-A-Day Energy
10/16/2012 4:34:03 PM
I am in the Junior league of Durham and Orange counties. Very laid back ladies. No residency requirement like the Raleigh league. There are all types of people in the league. The league is what YOU make of it.My provisional group was great. We all got along, most of them were wives of Duke grad/med students.I think I met ONE or TWO snotty people total. Honestly the Raleigh league is a bit intimidating. ESP the Spree committee. If you want a local idea of a nice small league, try the durham league. There is a provisional class starting in January. If you live in Wake County.........you can always transfer. I do believe there is an inter-league membership option as well.Having said that; this is my first active year as a leaguer. I do not know all of the ins and outs. Your mileage may vary[Edited on October 16, 2012 at 11:06 PM. Reason : .]

I take two flintstone gummy vitamins
10/16/2012 11:03:54 PM
Supplement wise:Women's Multivitamin1500 mg Glucosamine400 mg D3 (Dr. Recommended)15 mEq Potassium Citrate (Rx for Medullary Sponge Kidney & Renal Tubular Acidosis)
10/16/2012 11:06:03 PM
Are these specifically made for no panties/sexy time?
10/21/2012 7:00:32 PM
unless you are 0% bodyfat, that would create the fugliest lines
10/21/2012 9:31:52 PM
Well, they're basically hose with a built in garter belt. They make crotchless pantyhose that offer a bit more coverage.
10/21/2012 10:03:33 PM
I understand/agree, but that doesn't change the fact that they would create the fugliest "panty" lines
10/21/2012 11:05:46 PM
I think that is a matter of opinion. I imagine those are some 'panty lines' that a discerning man might appreciate.
10/21/2012 11:07:14 PM
i take a vegetarian iron-free multi-vitamin. i used to also take extra vitamin D but i've been logging extra time outside so i stopped taking it.
10/21/2012 11:07:23 PM
not as bad of a line that you get from wearing actual garters
10/21/2012 11:10:07 PM
So those 10 dollar leggings I got from Amazon that I raved about, well I lived in them this weekend and I am in love. That is all.

the new BC i am on (which is pretty stellar by the way and i am FINGERS CROSSED that it eliminates a lot of the problems i've been having lately) has added iron to it and i noticed i have a bit more energy during the day (which is odd considering i eat enough red meat that my iron levels should never be low). my BC is also a chewable
10/22/2012 7:55:38 AM
http://www.meeshandmia.com/nc-state-wolfpack/I will probably be getting something.
10/28/2012 3:19:14 PM
^^what were you on that caused the breakthrough bleeding? I know every woman is different, but a friend has asked me if i ever experienced it.
10/28/2012 3:27:34 PM
Love love LOVE my new gynecologist. Karen Corvin at Blue Ridge OBGYN.
10/29/2012 10:18:14 AM

10/29/2012 11:06:05 AM
^^ I switched to her a few years ago, she is awesome! My other ob/gyn seemed to ignore my requests a lot.
10/29/2012 11:26:29 AM
My other one was also at blue ridge but she left. I was nervous because I hadnt seen anyone but her in 7 years, but she was super awesome and paid attention to everything I said.
10/29/2012 11:29:17 AM
YAY my 5 year (work) anniversary gift came in! David Yurman earrings I got these: http://www.davidyurman.com/shoponline/product.aspx?itemid=Y0MC9&folderid=/women/earrings

For those above looking for volunteer help in the Raleigh area but are hesitant on the JL- there are other simliar leagues. Theres the Charity League http://www.nationalcharityleague.org/ or Junior Womens http://www.jwcraleigh.org/ that I know of. FYI- Charity league mentions how both mom and teenage daughters are members, but I dont think you have to have a daughter that is that age to join. I have a friend that is member in a different area and she doesnt but every chapter could be different!
10/29/2012 11:44:14 AM
I utilize the pink ladies a lot for projects...they're a great organization!
10/29/2012 2:24:24 PM
Impulsively just ordered these. Now I'm excited about cooler weather.
