Not really, the dragon is kinda what I'm known for and I was promoting my Tinder tourAnd treetwista I didn't make any wrong predictions in this thread... I had our over 8 wins because I thought we'd start 4-0 and I could bank on a few injuries or meaningless games vs other teams to get us to at least 8-8 or 9-7... we had a really nice off season and the Cam deal didn't affect us this year because it was basically taking Greg Hardy void...Clearly I didn't think 16-0 was in the realm of possibilities but I thought we'd be favorites to win our division for sure[Edited on December 1, 2015 at 11:51 AM. 11-5/10-6 was my thinking after the KB injury. We're undefeated because along with FA pickups like Oher and Coleman exceeding all expectations, a bunch of teams on our schedule who were supposed to be good outright stink. The NFC East especially is just plain bad.
12/1/2015 12:23:56 PM
JStew has really impressed this year. I always felt like the rotation we were using never allowed JStew or Williams to get into a rhythm, which is appears gettin most of the carries has allowed him to do this year.

^^^By "those people" I meant when you said 10-1People who add a loss to the panthers schedule on message boards then giggle to themselves as they hit the reply button, imagining all the anger and confusion they have caused with their masterfully executed trolling.

I retired this year. Buying an RV and just traveling the world yeah... I make fake tinder profiles in every city to amuse myself. The 10-1 thing is hilarious and I have no idea why

The important thing to remember is that it's a perfect, undefeated record of 10-1.[Edited on December 2, 2015 at 3:29 PM. Reason : -]

Eh can't figure out how to post that...So glad cams deal got done before the season. Gentleman has really been absolute gold. Got cam wrapped up at a very reasonable deal. Drafted a ridiculous amount of studs early and very productive mid round picks. Star, luke, Benjamin, short, norman, etc.Avoided the Hardy longterm deal. Hasn't paid for outlier years like Mitchell, ginn, etc.3 straight division wins and the team has been a legitimate contender in the playoffs each year... last year was borderline but we definitely had ano outside shot. All while being handicapped with dead money and overpays. I mean next year Luke's deal kicks in but we are erasing so many big deals off the books and have great restructuring leverage with CJ. Vets will be willing to sign with us. Benjamin returning... We absolutely should be stronger next season than this one from a talent perspective. I think we should franchise norman then re-evaluate. CB is historically a dangerous position to overpay due to the inconsistency from year to year. Minor injuries can really derail a players output. I'd invest longterm money upfront in the pass rush instead. Which is clearly gentleman's MO[Edited on December 3, 2015 at 3:13 AM. Reason : A][Edited on December 3, 2015 at 3:16 AM. Reason : A]

No doubt we should be better next year. Along with the KB injury, we've still got dead money from Hurney's contracts and CJ's monster cap figure hamstringing us this year. Now, we need to sign guys like KK and Star to longer term deals, and maybe even Trai and Norwell if possible. But even with all that, we'll be in much better shape next year to sign top flight talent FAs instead of castoffs. I agree it would be smarter to franchise Norman than to sign him long term, or even just let some other team overpay for him. Giving a DB 10+ million/year almost never works out long term.[Edited on December 3, 2015 at 9:16 AM. Reason : .]

Estimated franchise tag for CB going into this past season was $13.05 million, that value is likely to only go up. Will be interesting what we decide to do.You're talking about a guy who has been graded as a top 5 CB for 2 years in a row and that is still very young and a key piece to your defense. I agree you have to be wise with how you invest in CBs, but we don't have the luxury of just letting him walk given our lack of youth/depth behind him. We likely won't be a major player in FA this year, we're going to be focusing on re-structures and locking up some of your key defensive players. Hell if we're able to keep all of our stars and not wreck our cap, I'll be happy with the offseason.
12/3/2015 10:37:05 AM
At this point I trust Gettleman to make the right move with him
12/3/2015 11:09:13 AM
The "still very young" thing is not entirely correct, as he was old for a rookie and turns 28 next week. Signing him to a long term deal that runs thru his age 32 or 33 season carries a lot more risk than it would if he was a few years younger.
12/3/2015 11:49:50 AM
It's a lot easier to find pass rushers than shutdown corners. I'd rather lock up Norman than somebody like Star or KK if it came down to it. Granted neither of them are pass rushers, but having a lockdown corner gives you so much versatility with what the other 10 guys are doing. And didn't we offer him $10M/year before the season started? He's gonna get paid, hopefully here. And even though I agree this is a franchise that's trending upwards and would be a good destination for free agents, I don't see us throwing stupid large money at free agents. That doesn't seem to be how Gettleman gets down.
12/3/2015 4:14:55 PM
It's really up to Norman, if he truly was offered $10M/per extension during the offseason and didn't take it, then we should probably let him go. If you look at the franchises that have consistent success: New England, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, etc.. , they don't pay the guys who are chasing the checks. We have Cam on offense and Kuechly on the defense, everyone else is interchangeable parts. It's up to the player if they'd rather get a few extra millions or be on a winning team.
12/3/2015 4:23:29 PM
Maybe it was $8 or $9M. He wants top-5 corner money and deserves it. And teams like Baltimore and Pittsburgh kept Reed and Polamalu on their team forever because that was their elite defensive back, and Norman is ours. Green Bay paid for Woodson. I mean we faced Dez, Hopkins, Cooks, Hilton, etc this year and they were all non-factors. Cobb seems like the only one who got off but I think his TD was a little pick play and Norman wasn't on him. D-Jax big TD, Norman wasn't on him. If he goes elsewhere it would be tough to replicate his chemistry on his new team, and would be even harder for us to replace him.

due to the oddity of the midyear collapse last year, we still have never had back to back winning seasons, but still have 3 division titles in a row. and, despite being 30 years younger a franchise than the failcons, have accomplished more than them. what a day to be alive
