I fully support the injury comments just because Gold is losing his damn mind on the radio right now.
9/29/2014 4:53:48 PM
A NC State coach saying what's on every fan's mind, and standing up for our players and team? I 100% support it
9/29/2014 5:03:18 PM
^^^nah man, their bench players aren't as good as their starters. and their whole team isn't 5 stars.

regardless of if you think they're faking or not, it's a horrible look for a coach to complain publicly about itit's obvious that he's doing to gain support from the fans, which isn't something he should really worry about
9/29/2014 5:21:46 PM
good god Joe Ovaries is trolling up a storm on 99.9
9/29/2014 5:22:51 PM
^^perhaps you think it's a horrible look, but apparently a lot of fans don't think it's a horrible look. and why shouldn't he be trying to gain support from the fans?[Edited on September 29, 2014 at 5:26 PM. Reason : ]

If you think your team is getting fucked, I'd rather the coach or the AD speak up about it. If you sit there and take it then nothing is going to change. Who cares what the public perception is, it's obviously a problem and now it's getting more attention.
9/29/2014 5:26:44 PM
because it's obvious and has absolutely nothing to do with wins and losses?it just feeds into the us vs. them mentality and I think it's a bit ridiculous, especially considering there are proper channels to go about complaining about injuries/refs, and a press conference isn't one of them
9/29/2014 5:28:11 PM
Coach K complained about refereeing/UNC bias early on in his career. Worked out well for him no?
9/29/2014 5:37:29 PM
Going through the "proper channels" doesn't get anything done when you're a second year coach at NC State. With the hurry up spread offense, you're seeing a lot more of this fake injury shit and it needs to be put out there. I don't think he's worried about how this makes him look (and it's not as bad as people are making it out to be). He's more worried about opposing teams taking away his best advantage. Go DD.
9/29/2014 5:43:44 PM
complaining about refs and questioning injuries are completely different thingsinjuries should always get the benefit of the doubtlook at what Brady Hoke is going through after what he did Saturday night
9/29/2014 5:43:48 PM
9/29/2014 5:45:04 PM
I was complaining about the refs when we were up 24-7Not about bad calls. About stopping play every 3 minutes, to have a conference, where the result was always "the ruling on the field is confirmed"the game took fucking 4 and a half hours[Edited on September 29, 2014 at 5:48 PM. Reason : .]
9/29/2014 5:48:17 PM
and that's fineit's just that a coach should be above making accusations like that in a press conference. all he's doing is throwing out red meat for the fanbase to eat up

my point is that injuries, especially in the climate we're in with football in 2014, should be taken seriouslyfans can complain all they want. all it takes is one serious injury after a coach accuses a player of faking it to make him look like an absolute fool. coaches shouldn't be putting themselves in position for that to happen.
9/29/2014 5:56:57 PM
coaches shouldn't have their players faking injuries. they're crying wolf, and finally somebody is calling them out on it.there would never be talk about making a rule if nobody spoke up, and it needs to happen with a quickness.[Edited on September 29, 2014 at 5:58 PM. Reason : ]

defense is not allowed to sub during hurry up unless the offense subs. thats the reason they are faking injuries.

Adam and Joe said they were gone for something like 20 plays. Also that they were the "best defensive players."

I think one was gone for 20 plays and the other wasn't commented on. But the FSU guys gave an excuse of "he's not that kind of guy, he would never do that". Riiighhhttt...

Watching on TV and not at the stadium other than the very last one they all looked like legit injuries. The final one looked pretty questionable as nothing looked like anything serious enough to warrant stopping play.At some point they are going to have to address this and I can see it going two different ways:1. If a player is hurt to the point play has to be stopped and helped off the field he should at least have to stay out the rest of that drive. Most of the time this is a non issue because if a player is legit hurt that badly he probably misses that much time anyways. 2. They decide with as hard as football is on the body anyways and all of the injuries they are going to not allow the hurry up offense anymore outside of the final 2 minutes of each half. Basically each team will be given a chance to substitue after each play before the ball is placed down and ready for play.
9/30/2014 8:36:42 AM
the guy who was out for 20 plays wasn't the one who killed the drive
