I've already purchased my tickets. I was wondering when do they ship them out and how are other people already getting theres. I haven't heard a word since I paid for them.

Oh well in that case, it depends on what option you picked. You either get your tickets at Will-Call on game day, or if you picked the mail option, they ship out approximately 10 days prior to the event. At least that's what it said on my order. I don't think anyone actually has their tickets yet.

I'd still like to know how I go about getting a parking pass. I don't want to have to walk to Carter-Finley...

Park beside the train tracks and walk to the stadium. If you have some friends tailgating, you can get up with them over in the fairgrounds lots. When you get there extra early, it's not like a half mile walk to the stadium is an inconvenience.

Quote :
"Wolfpack opener not going the route of last year
by Tim Hall
What a difference a year can make in college football. The ACC is normally the laughing stock of college football. The stadiums aren't that big. They have Duke in their conference. How could N.C. State go down to a decent SEC school's raucous 80-thousand seat stadium in the season opener and expect to compete?

Well, they didn't. South Carolina trashed the Wolfpack 34-0. More bragging rights for the SEC. But those are bragging rights that South Carolina won't be taking back to Columbia this year.

These two teams look completely different heading into the start of the 2009 campaign. Not to mention the Wolfpack have the luxury of playing this game at home. Pick up any preseason publication and you won't find a single one that projects the Gamecocks to be better than the Pack this season.

This all starts with 2008 All-ACC first team quarterback in Russell Wilson. Having an inexperienced Wilson was going to be a struggle in last year's opener. It was even worse when he got knocked into oblivion in the first half, and Daniel Evans tried to keep the offense from falling off a cliff. It didn't work.

It got so bad for the Wolfpack offense in that opener that South Carolina nonchalantly benched a horribly playing quarterback without even noticing. How does Tommy Beecher throw four interceptions and get benched for the season in a 34-0 rout in the opener? Well he did. The game would have been 64-0 if Chris Smelley played the whole game.

Russell Wilson is healthy, the N.C. State offense is thriving with him under center. It's the Gamecocks that have the relatively new Stephen Garcia taking his young team on a difficult road game to start the season. You saw the result when the Pack tried to do that same thing last year.

Wilson has an experienced Jamelle Eugene to run the football behind an offensive line that has plenty of experience coming back. Four out of the five lineman started games last season. South Carolina brings back just two starting lineman, and running back Brian Maddox only had 32 carries last season.

The Pack brings back more experience at the receiver position as well. Jarvis Williams and Owen Spencer could even be one of the best tandems in the ACC. They combined for well over 1,000 yards receiving last season. Three Gamecocks returning receivers didn't combine for 1,000 yards.

It's almost an exact opposite of last year's game when you lay out the projections. This game is N.C. State's chance to roll out of the gates with a win over an SEC team. More fuel for the Pack's fire should be the payback factor.

All the Wolfpack players are salivating to get South Carolina in "their house" to make up for last year. If you don't believe me, starting center Ted Larsen joined 99.9 The Fan ESPN Radio on Friday and he couldn't get through the first sentence without mentioning "looking forward to South Carolina""

It has gone downhill the last couple years, not that it was great to start with. Of course, we're looking for any news out of practice this time of year.

I heard a rumor that they will be adding more seats to ECU's Dowdy Ficklen Stadium bringing there capacity to a little over 50,000. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Must make the Dukies and Tarholes feel bad that a little C-USA school has a better looking football stadium then they do, and as much as my ECU buds talk trash those fuckers do get loud on gamedays but they still fall in comparison to crowd noise at Carter Finley!

Yes its true, its one of the reasons they delayed our game vs them till next year

Its a fun stadium to go to a game at...I was planning to go to App/ECU the saturday after our game, but Robert Griffin coming to Wake is too sexy for me to pass up

The 20 things that make you look like a sports doofus
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hruby/090731

Quote :
"20. Holding a sign with network call letters in the hopes of scoring five whole seconds of sweet, precious airtime

Dubious behavior: Actually, on second thought, it's more like three seconds.

Doofus factor: Supreme. First, you have to make a sign, which requires both premeditation and a trip to an arts-and-crafts store; second, you have to work the network's letters into some kind of sentence, preferably supporting your team, a process more fraught with peril than it seems; third, you have to hold the sign aloft whenever you see a camera, aggravating the people sitting behind you; fourth, you have to have the sheer, oblivious chutzpah to believe that what you're doing is in any way original, creative or amusing. (In other words, the mindset we used to write this column.)

Suggested solution: Find a visiting-team football helmet and light it on fire, as Redskins fans did during Washington's last game at RFK Stadium, a victory over rival Dallas. The camera definitely will find you.

Mitigating circumstances: None.

Related behaviors: Naming your child Espen.

We can manage the loss of one safety but not 2. Time for Justin Byers and Earl Wolff to step up. Any word on Javon Walker's status? Would make a big difference if he is back to 100%. Hopefully he and Clem Johnson can stay healthy.

Pack elects three captains

Seniors Jamelle Eugene, Jeraill McCuller and Willie Young have been elected team captains by N.C. State's players, the school announced Monday.

The team elected captains during a meeting Sunday night. Practice begins shortly after 5 p.m. today.

Eugene, the projected starter at halfback, has 1,168 career rushing yards. Young, a defensive end, ranks 11th in school history with 31.5 tackles for loss. McCuller started every game at right tackle last season, allowing just two sacks in 795 snaps.

"These three young men are great choices," coach Tom O'Brien said in a statement. "They have shown great leadership throughout spring practice and in our summer workouts and their hard work and dedication has earned them the respect of their teammates."

Yeah our back up safeties and CB's are going to have to grow up QUICK...dammit what's up with all of these folks being academically ineligible (Im referring to other schools as well as ours)..you study, you pass a test, not that god damn hard!!

I wonder if O'brien would ever consider sticking our kick ass return man at a backup safety spot if he was able to pick up on the defensive schemes quick???

He's fast as shit and as long as he can break up a past or disrupt a solid wide receiver on a fast break...hey we could "def" use his skills!!

Yeah it was lightning like crazy here in Carrboro so I was wondering what it was like in Raleigh. I think our athletics' dept. should only give the SC fans only 200 tickets, and spread them out across CF.

Hell yeah less then 32 days left.

^^^It's an even bigger question mark now that Safety Jammaul Simmons has quit the team (and school). [url]http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/883913.html[url] Regarding the QB's I agree, it's so strange to have confidence (albeit unproven) in our backup QB.

^^I watched it too, got super effing excited and even more impatient than I was before. It still made me wince and say, "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!" when Russell got hurt.

Wolfpack Club Members... Can you guys take a few minutes to educate me on the season ticket distribution.

I see the Lifetime Seats Rights seating chart and each area shaded for the different club donation amounts. Now that is for lifetime seats. So say i donate at the State Club level ($300-599). And i get my application for season tickets. Will my season tickets be somewhere in that State Club shaded area on the LSR seating chart or is it complete pot-luck and points system as to where WPC members tickets are?

If i give $599 on my first year and join the WPC at the State Club level, and then sign up for season tickets.. is it possible that i'll have worse seats than a member donating the bare minimum of $120 for 1 year or 2 years?

And lastly, when is the best time to sign up for WPC in order to have the best chance for tickets in the upcoming season (assuming its too late for 09).

any help you guys can provide would be great.

its my understanding that its potluck based on points. the more you donate, the more points you accumulate, along with factoring in how long you've been in the WPC. i'm not sure if you have to donate X amount of dollars to get into a specific section.

for your reference, i donated $250 this year and still had to tell them which sections i wanted to request.

i am unsure of where my seats will be until they send them in the mail next week.
