Ford GT pushing 2,000+ hp does 294 mph... most probably a land speed record for a modified ICE car in a production body with road tires.http://www.motor1.com/news/140532/ford-gt-standing-mile-recordInsane speed. 300 mph is not far away! Probably within a couple of years.

Goddamn that looks nuts. For a fun contrast, my fast lap from a few years ago in my Lemons car at a track day (this was a 1:54, I ran a 1:49 at the race there earlier this year):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpKmfsmwD2A

^^ Hahah, yeah, speedo makes it look a lot quicker than it is. It's fast for a nominally $500 LeMons car...probably around 200whp and 3,000 lbs with driver and fuel (all 22 gallons of it heh).
5/8/2017 2:46:52 PM
^^I'd say the guardrail did it's job and everything's fine... If you said this is why you don't race in the mountains and posted; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on3RxOpGNYA that I'd understand...[Edited on May 8, 2017 at 5:38 PM. Reason : linky]

Bentley BentaygaVideo from different angles:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90TZiL-A8IwThat's cool, but isn't that going to leave water stains? Where are the tiny headlight wipers! As cool as that is, I had no idea that Mercs have had that for a long time apparently, see this E-Class from early 00s:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvxfgJqeDZQDid you guys know about it? I grew up seeing S-Classes in the 80s and 90s and they all had exposed nozzles to shoot the water and cute tiny wipers on the headlights, which I always found very mesmerizing! Then one day when a certain new generation came, they disappeared and I lamented the loss LOL. Little did I know that they had introduced the new style ones but without wipers. Now that I think about it, I have always wondered what those little triangular-ish body panels are just under the headlights on many luxury cars.
6/11/2017 7:58:09 PM
Many cars have had them, my 2003 911 has it as well... Not uncommon!

One of my best laps from VIR back on the 18-19th: https://youtu.be/hckplo8y8nMTake pity on my (early) braking as I'm trying to work on my heel-toe downshifting, which is atrocious. I braked for the climbing esses and didn't accelerate super hard on the front straight because the semi-worn suspension was getting way too floaty in both scenarios.
11/27/2017 9:33:43 AM
heel-toe practice? that's what the streets are for but yes, that 5-3 shift at the end of the straight [Edited on November 27, 2017 at 10:03 AM. Reason : ]

^^heel-toe works best when you're pushing on the brake pedal at 50% or greater effort. On public roads that never happens except in an emergency. So...yeah.

11/29/2017 7:43:45 AM
I had an instructor; one of the best I've ever had I think. Where did you think I was being soft on the throttle? Coming out of some turns I'm a gear high (3rd instead of 2nd) so that could give the impression I'm not too hard on the throttle due to the visible engine speed. I also know I could be faster through turn 10, but take pity on me because the last time I was at VIR I balled up my car at that turn... [Edited on December 1, 2017 at 8:49 AM. Reason : ]
