Yeah, but how many really good schools will hold open scholarships? I mean, I don't know if we have many people waiting in line or exactly how the whole thing works, but isn't there a chance that schools will go ahead and make offers for next year to someone who is second on their list to get a guaranteed player instead of the off chance that Amile shows up?

Not really. An LOI is a contract between a kid and a school stating that he will spend the next school year under an academic scholarship. You can still receive a scholarship at anytime granted there is one available and the recruit is in good academic standing.

As long as Jefferson is academically qualified, he can enroll anytime before classes start.

We have 4 open scholarships for next season. Duke has similar numbers. No way in hell Amile is left without a scholarship offer from the school he chooses.
