Big news item now is that back in 2008, Santorum was preaching that Satan has his sights on America

^ What an assclown.Santorum is your nominee, GOP. On the rise and keeping the momentum going, he's dominating news coverage for better or worse. He's the one who's going to get the base riled up, if anyone. The difference between this not-Romney and all the ones before are that this guy is the last one standing. Newt doesn't stand a chance and when the 5-15% who are still voting for him have to choose between Mitt and Rick guess who they're gonna pick. Santorum is going to win all of the midwest states and enough of the rest to go into the convention with more delegates than Romney. I can't wait to watch the demise of the Republican Party unfold. This has been a long time coming. All that's left is a Ron Paul endorsement for Gary Johnson and that will be the nail in the coffin.*I'm not a huge Democrat supporter but I absolutely loathe the Republicans and I am relishing this primary process.
2/21/2012 3:46:49 PM
Romnantorich continues to reveal how ridiculous he continues to be.Last time I checked, this was an election to see who wants to be President of the U.S., not Preacher of the U.S.

You simply cannot discount the fact that the Republicans have been using the Religious Right for decades by promising to deliver them social issues and failing to do so at nearly every opportunity. They are pissed off, they want someone they know they can trust to deliver on the issues they think are important, and they're willing to bring the entire GOP and whole country down with them to prove that point. Our debate has shifted so far to the right that the country has come to a grinding halt politically. You simply cannot dismiss the fact that these are highly motivated, ideologically pure citizens who make up roughly 20% of the population. Their numbers alone give them huge influence.
2/21/2012 5:07:47 PM
Yeah. The Republican establishment wants to use the power of the Federal Government to regulate how to think, pray, and go to war.The Democratic establishment wants to use the power of the Federal Government to regulate everything else.

I am amazed that the Michigan primary is stretching just to gather 1 million votes cast despite allowing temporary party changes on election day, meaning Democrats could potentially change their party affiliation to Republican temporarily and cast a vote, to my understanding. Wake County, on the other hand, has just surpassed 600,000 registered voters. Not many Republican voters appear to be coming out to the primaries this year, but as a progressive leaning independent I am convinced they are important nonetheless.
2/28/2012 11:00:12 PM
At least 50% of the population has no idea what a primary is or that the election process has even started yet. Of the 50% that know what is going on, probably about half of them even care enough to actually want to vote in the primary and of the ones that care enough, there is no candidate that people like so they will hold out until there is somebody to vote against obama. Even your booming Wake county only has 26k votes out of those 600k voters turnout in the last republican contest.
2/28/2012 11:29:58 PM
Time for another Newt surge.Newt is like a modern-day Winston Churchill. He's gonna save the world after Obama's policies lead us to the brink of disaster.
2/28/2012 11:45:03 PM
^lol
2/28/2012 11:49:34 PM
Obama will destroy Romney.Paul is the only republican chance to win because he is the only one who is different enough from Obama
2/29/2012 12:03:57 AM
That makes absolutely no sense. A vast majority of conservatives don't want to leave Israel hanging. Him being different than Obama on this issue won't give him the election.Even if he tries to spin it as "we're stopping aid to all the Arab countries too, and giving Israel its independence" conservatives won't vote for him.
2/29/2012 12:07:15 AM
^For every neocon Paul loses, he picks up an independent and a pot-smoking disillusioned former Obama supporter.Romney has a chance. He just needs the economy to tank. Hard.Still holdingout hope for Newt "Winston Churchill" Gingrich.[Edited on February 29, 2012 at 12:10 AM. Reason : 2]

You know, that really bothers me. The Republicans currently in office have every incentive to fuck our country up big time so that the public will be inclined to oust the incubment. They would love it if unemployment skyrockets, the economy tanks, people start dying. It makes me wonder how hard they're trying to prevent that from happening.
2/29/2012 12:09:43 AM
Meh. The congressional Republicans are stupid, corrupt ideologues, but not particularly moreso than any other opposition party we've had. All this noise about the GOP "sabotaging" the economy is ridiculous. About all that they have the power to do is block Obama's agenda, which is to be expected during an election year.[Edited on February 29, 2012 at 12:19 AM. Reason : 2]
2/29/2012 12:18:25 AM
Probably a good point. I don't know why I expected our government to get anything done in the coming months. Time to go to bed.

2/29/2012 12:23:18 AM
Typical pre-election wedge issues. It's not like the 'Pubs are gonna do anything about Iran or gay marriage, and those issues won't make a damn bit of difference in the election.
2/29/2012 12:57:40 AM
Catch 22. If they block Obama's policies, then the economy will recover and he will get reelected. If they let his policies through, they go against their principles.
2/29/2012 12:58:32 AM
Yeah, that corporate tax cut proposal is totally gonna tank the economy. And and that Jobs bill focusing on infrastructure? A recipe for DISASTER!Now, we are continuing to live beyond our means with these trillion-dollar deficits, but debt issues won't directly impact the economy until well after Obama leaves office. The Pubs might as well get on board with Obama's economic initiatives, because they are all just re-hashed Republican proposals.[Edited on February 29, 2012 at 1:10 AM. obama has a lot of obstacles between now an november too-obamacare in the supreme court, a whole summer of $5 gas, etcif hes already polling behind romney its probably only going to get worse (barring some manufactured miracle).

3/1/2012 11:08:26 AM
idk what the margin of error is here, but if thats all obama can manage while these fuckers are tearing each other apart hes still in trouble.its going to be a long spring for obamacare, and a long summer with shit gas prices and the middle east situation.obama has plenty of chances to fuck up royally while in the meantime everyone eventually aligns under mitt.just my 2 cents!
3/1/2012 5:10:19 PM
The other side of your 2 cents being we have just as long for Rmoney to explain why he signed Obamacare lite into law while governor, how bombing Iran will lower gas prices, and why he pays a lower tax rate than I do?
3/1/2012 5:24:18 PM
^^What country/times do you think we live in? Look at every election since Clinton/Dole. A 4-6 point lead is basically an ass kicking in terms of the general election. That's about all Obama beat McCain by and people called that a landslide. Again, as I've said time and time again, it's all about the individual state matchups, and no GOP candidate has any realistic path to 270 at this point.

clearly its intelligent design that the US pop hovers around a 1:1 male/female ratio....therefore, single moms are the work of satan!
