By "it" do you mean "more career interceptions than touchdowns"
1/17/2011 10:03:34 AM
^^^ He was going after Rex earlier in the week. I'm sure there were words on the field, but who knows what was said there.By "it" he means playing big in big games. Hard to argue with back to back AFC Championship appearances in your first two years. He really landed in the perfect storm of a situation with the Jets. Very much akin to the way the Steelers took off after Roflcopter took the reins his rookie year.[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:06 AM. Reason : .]

Bart Scott was PISSED. Tom Jackson you've been called out.
1/17/2011 10:04:14 AM
Or maybe you mean "fifth-lowest passer rating in the league this year"[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:07 AM. Reason : ^^ Think of how far they could have gone with a decent QB]

Dare I say Sanchez is the bizarro Phillip Rivers?
1/17/2011 10:15:57 AM
One decent 40-yard drive doesn't make him a good QBI don't know his stats in the Indy game, but I bet they weren't greatHe plays better in the playoffs, but only because he plays below-average in the regular seasonDude is a game manager (and not a good one), not a game breaker ][Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:21 AM. Reason : 3 TDs in one playoff game, every other start has been mediocre at best]
1/17/2011 10:19:38 AM
Most games in the NFL are lost, not won.Having a guy who doesn't make big plays or mistakes can be more valuable than having a guy who makes both.[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:28 AM. Reason : x]
1/17/2011 10:28:47 AM
Since when is a game manager a bad thing? You certainly don't luck your way into the AFC championship two times in your first two years. I'm not arguing that he's "great" quarterback. I'm simply saying that IN THE PLAYOFFS, the single most important games in a quarterback's life when they will forever be judged and build a legacy for themselves, he plays big. You can't deny that. Quote all the stats you want.[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:33 AM. Reason : .]

Ribs has consumed the kool aid
1/17/2011 10:40:49 AM
Sanchez didn't have to throw like that because he was up 14 in the 4th quarter. Without that last drive to cut it to 7 right at the end of the game, Brady's stats wouldn't look nearly as polished. He never got comfortable and some of those drops and misses were because the Jets got him off his spot.[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:42 AM. Reason : ^ you're damn right I want a winning QB in the playoffs if that's what you mean]
1/17/2011 10:42:02 AM
The larger sample size (the regular season) says Sanchez sucksWhether or not his team is winning in the playoffs, he doesn't have an awful lot to do with it6 TD, 3 int (that's a 1:1 before yesterday), bad passer rating, mediocre completion percentageHe's going to get lit up by the Steelers defenseYou'll seeYou'll all see
1/17/2011 10:47:27 AM
You left out 4-1 in the playoffs (all road games) in those stats
1/17/2011 10:50:06 AM
Agree with Ernie, too early to be drinking the Sanchez kool-aid[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 10:51 AM. Reason : ^Yeh, Sanchez single-handedly won those 4 games. The other Jets players did nothing to help win them]
1/17/2011 10:50:51 AM
So you went to the rallydurham Mike Vick is a Golden God school of attributing wins and losses to QBsSurely the Jets couldn't be winning in spite of his lackluster performancesLike I said, give them a good QB and they'd be steamrolling everyone
1/17/2011 10:51:22 AM
1/17/2011 10:57:07 AM
Not really. Their whole gameplan in built on dominating Time of Possession. A good QB means less to their success than it would to almost any other team. Their whole blueprint is built around having a QB who simply doesn't fuck up.Would they have more success with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc? Of course. But those guys wouldn't be putting up 350 yard, 3 TD games in that system.
1/17/2011 10:58:30 AM
Their whole blueprint is built around a guy with more interceptions than touchdowns
1/17/2011 10:59:15 AM
What about that perfect throw he made to Santonio late in the 2nd half in the back end zone yesterday to basically seal it for his team. Or the throw he made against Indy to Braylon on right sideline to get them into FG range. That's the clutch play I'm talking about that seals it for his team. Both of those were world class. Once again, I'm not saying he is "great", but he shows up big in big games and makes that one or two plays when they ask him to. I'd kill to have that kind of player on the Panthers.
1/17/2011 11:00:20 AM
First, there's no such thing as 'clutch'. Second, wow two throws crown his ass.[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 11:01 AM. Reason : Your perception of a good QB has obviously been hindered by watching Panthers football]

If you ranked the 12 playoff QBs, almost everyone would put Sanchez last.Manning/Rodgers/Brady/Brees/Vick - take your pick.....Roethlisberger.....RyanFlaccoCassel.....CutlerHasselbeckSanchez[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 7:23 PM. Reason : Here I will "rank" them Jesus Christ]
1/17/2011 6:54:18 PM
unless you're accounting for things that have happened off of the football field, how on earth can you have Roethlisberger that low?
1/17/2011 6:59:29 PM
boozie I seriously can't stop laughing at how fucked up that list isFrom what I understand about you from the other threads is that there is a general consensus among ST frequenters that you're retarded anyway, so I'll let it slide.
1/17/2011 7:00:04 PM
? I just listed them....What QB out of the other 11 would you take Sanchez over?It was by no means a rankings system[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 7:07 PM. Reason : Yeah I'm retarded but I'm usually right, good logic]
1/17/2011 7:05:24 PM
usually when you start out a sentence with "if you ranked" and then list off 12 names, people will assume that you are ranking those 12 namesjust a heads up
1/17/2011 7:09:32 PM
Honestly what is so fucking funny about that list?If I took the time and ranked them, it wouldn't change much. And yes I would take in effect Big Ben's near death experiences plus rape into effect.
1/17/2011 7:15:26 PM
thats a pretty accurate list anyway you slice it.Sanchez will collapse this week don't worry. They win in spite of that guy he stinks.

1) lol at you editing 1 minute before your stupidity was forever locked in for all to see2) putting 5 guys on one line isn't ranking quarterbacks3) If you AND Rally are in agreement, I've never been more confident of Sanchez playing well this weekend.
1/17/2011 7:46:10 PM
Those five are hardly separable and them along with Rivers are the cream of the crop in the NFL.It's not like a few years ago when Peyton and Brady stood way above everyone. We are talking about this year's playoffs and which QB we want not their careers.

1/18/2011 9:51:58 PM
Only on tww would people think Sanchez is better than Rivers, Manning, Brady, Vick, and Hasslebeck.Sanchez is horrible, that's a given. They can't run against Pittsburgh so it's going to be third and long all game which equals punt. The Jets can win if they score a defensive or special teams TD and the Pitt offense has under 250 yards.Otherwise, forget it. Sanchez would be lucky to complete a pass this weekend, let alone win a game.
