New EP from The Radio Dept. dropped.

I hope this is their new sound, or rather, where their sound is going. Hopefully they come to the US soon.

Just bought Kid Cudi's new album (Man on the Moon II: Legend of Mr Rager) and Cee-Lo's album (Lady Killer). Yet to listen to Cee-Lo's...but Kid Cudi's is ok. I think I prefer his first CD though, but so far this one's not bad.

For those that have heard Kanye West's new album...

What's the deal with these songs he's been putting out on Fridays (calling it GOOD Friday), are they on the album? Songs like "So Appalled", "Looking for Trouble", "Joy"...some of them were pretty good.

^Some of them are. Some of the really, really good ones (i.e. "Lord Lord Lord") were left off. I think "Lord Lord Lord" should've replaced "So Appalled" on the album. "So Appalled" is a piece of shit IMO...the rest of the album is near-perfect.

^"So Appalled" is great! Quality production, Jay's verse is amazing, Pusha and Kanye have good verses, though I'm not a fan of whatever jackoff is on 4th there.

i think you are referring to RZA

Fair enough...I just think the "redickalous" hook is stupid.

Agreed that the verses are good though. Kanye has improved tenfold as a rapper

Also, I think that 4th verse is some dude named Prynce Cy Hi. I think RZA only raps the hook once. I could be wrong, though

new My Chemical Romance album "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys" comes out this Monday (11/22). You can hear the entire album here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeUa6FcEJQY&feature=sub

so far, I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. There are a couple really good songs on here, and then a couple crap songs. This album is completely different from their last album, "The Black Parade", which I loved. They are going for a futuristic, post-apocalyptic theme with this album. In the months leading up to the release the band kept saying that this album would be a lot more garage rock and be similar to rock music before hair bands were labeled as hair bands - I'm not really getting that vibe from the album, so who knows if they scrapped that idea or not.

anyways, I wanted to post the link in case anyone was interested in hear the songs. The link is basically a "listening party" hosted by an MCR character named Dr. Death Defy, the songs arent broken up, so you kinda have to listen to the entire link or skip around manually. I'll try to post something better, but this was released by the band and will be the best quality we can hope for.

enjoy

I just can't get into Kanye. Don't know why. I guess I subconsciously let the fact that I really dislike him as a person ruin his music or something.

Haven't heard the whole new EP yet, but the song "Carolina" by Girls is really awesome. IMO, it's better than any song on their debut, and that's saying something.

I like Kanye as an artist, but 808's was one of the most garbage albums of all time. Wish that could be deleted from music history.

Haven't checked the new one out...will probably do that today.

i like kanye. and i like his duck duck don't give a fuck attitude. but that is just me.

808s and heartbreaks was a weak effort i guess, but i still didn't hate the album like everyone else. there are one or two songs from it i actually really liked.

new kanye rules though.

anybody else listen to Nelly's new album? I was so excited when I heard about it, and while it's not a disappointment per se, it isn't quite as great as I was hoping for. I do really like most of the collaborative tracks (except the one with Keri Hilson ).

^x3 That song is good...just gave the whole EP a listen. Really, really fucking good. Even better than their debut LP, IMO, if an EP could be compared to an LP. They did an excellent job of expanding their sound on this EP to incorporate new elements but still stay true to what they do. Tough to pull off. This band could be headed for really big things.

billy corgan put out another smashing pumpkins song. i would possibly go so far as to say it's kind of good after 2 listens. vocals aren't really turned up as much as the other songs, so maybe that's what it is.

on the 5 track EP, i would go as far as to say that 2 to 3 of the songs are actually good.

"cottonwood symphony" and "spangled" are both exceptionally good, imho.

^ i thought "spangled" was alright. billy's vocals are still really irritating like on the rest of them, but not so much on "tom tom." haven't heard "cottonwood symphony" yet. as far as i know, it's a b-side for teargarden vol. 2, and i can't find it to download it anywhere. help.
