eyedrb,

That's the truth. I'm surprised that whole plagarism scandal of his 20 years ago hasn't popped up. If I was the McCain team, I would at least have on commercial showing how Biden LIED in 1988 about his educational credentials after bragging to a voter "You know, I think I have a higher IQ than you do."

And Palin gets ripped for the Bridge to Nowhere Flip-Flop? Puh-fucking-leez

I know coal is important. You know coal is important.

What percentage of voters do you think know coal is important? How often does coal come up as a mainstream political issue?

When's the last time you saw a poll that said "Which candidate do you think is better for the coal industry?"?

Never, it's a non-issue in this election.

^^^
Biden has a pretty long and distinguished career as a politician. That's what people associate Biden with. With Palin though, all she has is her lies and fuck ups.

I'm pretty sure it's very important to PA voters who are directly involved with the coal industry.

Aside from your opinion that it's a "non-issue" in this election, you don't think it's odd how while Biden is making these comments, Obama is making almost the exact opposite comments somewhere else? Biden directly contradicted their ticket's coal policy. Aren't you worried there are other issues that Biden just hasn't come out and said on video that directly contradict something Obama (or Biden himself) has said in the past? They're just saying whatever the particular audience wants to hear. Sure, coal is a big issue to PA and some other coal-oriented states, but the bigger issue is how he's not even in line with what the ticket has been and is currently saying.

hahah, just proved my point. thanks

aim, obama is clearly pandering to PA bc its in play now, somehow. Biden is probably touting thier official policy. Its politics as usual.

I can remember Gore promising that Oak Ridge would see no funding cuts from a Clinton Admin. He drastically cut defense spending and really hurt Oak Ridge... So during the next election gore got booed everywhere he went in east tenn.. kinda funny actually.

Yeah of course it's politics and both sides are guilty of it

I just wanted to point out Obama/Biden are just as guilty as McCain has been and that nothing is going to change if they get elected... it's all bullshit

I dunno aim, im afraid that obama and a dem congress will use this down time to impose more regulations on businesses, raise taxes, and create another massive entitlement in socialized medicine.

Look at his website. The fairpay act. (sounds great.. so the majority of people will go for it without looking into it at all). YOu have him saying that a business cant replace a striking union worker? You have to be kidding me.

Oh and will one of you obama fans tell me what tax breaks companies going overseas bush is giving them? please.

yeah, I agree with you. But you wont get one of the obama fans to. They just dont wanna see anything wrong with him. Kinda dangerous way to view a fing politician. Oh well, Ill just have to hire an accountant and use some tax shelters for the next 4 yrs. The good news is I wont need my investment income for another 30 yrs.

Rofl...how is that different than the Republican proposed corporate welfare for the rich? You're so afraid of national healthcare because it will crush the profit you make as an eyedr that you'd just as well see the nation tank on this proposal than actually admit that a little bit of regulation or enforcing the regulation that already existed might be a good thing.

"NEW YORK - Republican John McCain says he's directing his staff to work with Barack Obama's campaign and the debate commission to delay Friday's debate because of the economic crisis.

In a statement, McCain says he will stop campaigning after addressing former President Bill Clinton's Global Initiative session on Thursday and return to Washington to focus on the nation's financial problems.

McCain also said he wants President Bush to convene a leadership meeting in Washington. Both he and Obama would attend the session "

This is by far biggest political stunt of this campaign, from either party. Stalling a presidential campaign isn't putting country first, it's desperation.

yeah, give me a break. this is so lame.

It's like McCain is a college student with a bunch of assignments, and he wants to spend the next couple days working on his end-of-term paper.
"Let's see..... I have Iraq, Healthcare, and this damned US Economy to fix, all by Monday..... I think I will do nothing except work on the economy until Friday evening, then I can finish up Iraq and Healthcare over the weekend, and still have time to party on Sunday night!"

It's just laughable to think that by not campaigning for 1.5 days, he's actually going to make some progress on the US Economy.

"Obama reached out to McCain privately to agree to a shared set of bailout principles. McCain went off the handle again and tried to use the crisis as a way to call off the debates."

He can try to make it look like some big bipartisan initiative but Obama called him this morning at 8:30 am to issue a parternship on this without any fucking press release, now he is acting like he owns this joint effort. f that.

^ It's a clever move on McCain's part though that can only help him.

Most of the news reports include that bit about Obama, but the headlines are all about McCain.

You have made it pretty clear by this statement you have no clue what goes on in healthcare currently.

But using your thought process.... What happens to businesses who profits get "crushed" as you put it? Think for a second dipshit.

Nice work McCain? NICE WORK MCCAIN?

What the fuck? He's being manipulative and trying to A) turn the tide of the bad polling and B) back out of the debates like a chicken shit and c) act like how owns this so he can be called all MAVRICKY

You guys can't see through that? This is purely a political ploy..another vapid tactic.

"Palin demurs

This isn't a good scene, and may have the McCain campaign regretting permitting reporters into the photo ops where, as Jonathan Martin notes, they have a bad habit of asking questions:

McCain then looked around the room and gestured as if to welcome questions. The AP reporter shouted a question at Gov. Palin (“Governor, what have you learned from your meetings?”) but McCain aide Brooke Buchanan intervened and shepherded everybody out of the room.

Palin looked surprised, leaned over to McCain and asked him a question, to which your pooler thinks he shook his head as if to say “No.”

Isn't that what I said? You are terrified of Obama because that nice living you make feeding off the trough that is privatized health care might get taken down a notch or two. You're so punch drunk afraid of Obama, that you're still in here championing McCain and his laughable stance and utter ignorance about the current economic situation we are facing.

Shrike, unlike the hurricane, the bailout is a legislative problem. Obama should quit trying to score political points by trying to hold a one-man debate (he's pretty good arguing with himself anyways). America needs a leader with real solutions.

Or, is he going to take a lot of opportunities for photo ops?
