Bummer on Meeks. I guess it was foolish to think that we had a good chance to get him.
12/16/2008 3:59:11 PM
I think harrison is announcing this afternoon so that looks like another S we'll miss out on.
12/16/2008 4:22:27 PM
In 2010 recruiting news, rob crisp made the 2010 top 100 on scout. he's the only NC guy on there and a ****, so that automatically means we won't get him
12/16/2008 4:24:44 PM
he must be a lock for UNCocksuckers
12/16/2008 4:33:59 PM
Actually we are in good shape for Crisp, wouldn't be surprised if we get him.
12/16/2008 4:36:06 PM
Crisp's AIM name has "ncsuballer" in it, so at least for now we are in good shape.
12/16/2008 4:37:35 PM
Crisp most likely won't announce until his senior season
12/16/2008 4:55:44 PM
Harrison to Missouri
12/16/2008 5:36:02 PM
Not too surprising considering his Rivals profile showed him as listing Missouri as "High Interest". His JUCO teammate is also going there.
12/16/2008 6:12:28 PM
expect the 2010 in-state class to look more like the 2008 in-state class for NC State. We'll get our share of good ones in '10.
12/16/2008 6:17:22 PM
I think having a good showing in the bowl and then winning a few early games next season will go a LONG way in hauling in some of these big namers from NC.Such as Crisp and Creecy. But both of those appear to be guys who are going to take it up until signing day.
12/16/2008 7:53:08 PM
Supposedly the safety Coleman has committed. No link that i see yet.
12/16/2008 9:04:26 PM
Yeah Steve Williams posted a topic on the premium board titled "Coleman Commits!"
12/16/2008 9:06:10 PM
on the front page, welcome welcome
12/16/2008 9:10:51 PM
coleman is built about the same as bishop. If they both hit the weights and maintain their speed, they will add solid depth to our secondary which has been limited recently.
12/16/2008 9:20:09 PM
"Pack Lands NJ Safety"See I don't like the title to that article. Coleman grew up in Michigan and just happened to do his post grad in Jersey. That would be like an article for Sam Jones saying "State gets commitment from Virginia lineman".
12/16/2008 9:20:41 PM
Nice to get Coleman. He's a prep guy, so he's already had one year post-graduation and should come in even more ready to play. If we RS him, he'll be ~20 y/o as a RS-FR.
12/16/2008 9:43:55 PM
He softens the blow of missing out on Meeks and Harrison some. I think it shows how good of talent evaluators this staff is when this guy gets an offer from us and two weeks later Minnesota and Iowa offer. Delaware also offered. Coleman probably knew he could play D-IA football, but needed another year to get noticed, kind of like Meeks. Of course Meeks played for Hargrave, which gets probably the most attention amongst all the prep schools with post graduate programs out there.Besides getting offers from Iowa, Minnesota, and Delaware, Coleman had at some point been recruited by North Carolina, Wake Forest, Connecticut, Miami (Ohio), South Florida, Army and Duke.[Edited on December 16, 2008 at 10:00 PM. So I went and watched Brandan Bishop's video again because I only watched the defensive highlights previously. Dude loves to hit, I think he's going to be a monster before he's done here.
12/16/2008 10:34:11 PM
Coleman's scout.com prep video is ridiculous. Hopefully he doesn't get a rankings bump

if he commits to FSU I'm gonna be pretty pissedcome on homeboy, you know what the right thing to do is. Go to the school that showed you enough love for you to commit to them. and you'll get to pick off ponder or ej manuel or whoever the fuck is throwing the ball for FSU and rub it in they face.

Well I like kids coming in with that attitude even if it may seem unrealistic, get enough of those kids and some good coaching behind them and you never know. Our first goal has got to be to start a season as strong as we have finished the last 2 though.
12/18/2008 5:04:07 PM
any new updated on Jarvis Byrd, would suck to see him sign with FSU
12/18/2008 6:31:12 PM
Can't blame Asa if he looked hard at Maryland with the way they utilize the TEs, but I'm hoping the resurgence of our passing game and the inclusion of our TEs will show up and help us reel him in.Don't really expect much from Byrd until after his visit with us.
12/18/2008 6:39:13 PM
^ Also Asa's father played at Maryland.

I've seen us mentioned with the following guys a couple times:* Robert Crisp * A.J Marshall * Tony Creecy* Prince Shembo * Kendall Moore * Gabe King * Fre'shad Hunter
12/19/2008 10:29:53 AM
If we end up getting more commits than we have scholarships, any ideas as to which recruit is most likely to get screwed?I'd hate for it to happen, but I'd love the idea of snatching 3-4 **** or ***** players right at the end.
12/19/2008 10:51:40 AM
Some of our current guys will probably enroll early and go against last year's total.I don't really see us having a shot with any 4 or 5 star players left. Our best shot are some quality 3-star OL.X. Nixon has narrowed his list to Miami, Florida, and LSU. Just glad to see UNC off that list.I think we're just trying to round out the class with a few OL now(namely Wentz at C).Now I'm just ready to wrap up this class and start looking at next year's class. I'm pretty comfortable with what we have right now.
12/19/2008 11:04:07 AM
I'd like to land Christophe. Dude is physically similar to Xavier Nixon. I think right now we are top 2 with Louisville. Getting a true center and not a converted guard or tackle would be great. Wentz seems like he'd be a good pickup. I also think we'll take a commitment from Jairus Jones. It seems the staff is pretty high on him.

12/19/2008 11:14:40 AM
Denzelle Good was raised to a 4 star on scout. STAAAAAAAAAAAS http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=3825992
12/19/2008 4:40:51 PM
OT Kadeem Custis committed to Temple yesterday. Besides us and Temple, Duke, ECU, Pitt and WVU offered. Custis was from Philly so he may have wanted to stay close to home.
12/19/2008 4:45:08 PM
looks like we can land 4 star players, they just don't know it yet
12/19/2008 5:37:12 PM
Jamil Merrell committed to Rutgers a couple of days ago.
12/19/2008 7:18:47 PM
Antwon Higgs to Purdue
12/19/2008 7:20:32 PM
Apparently we have offered Larry Raper? It's on both scout and rivals but I thought he wasn't interested in us at all.
