8/26/2007 9:34:35 PM
^^Yeah thanks for Wainwright! He is the only one out of that whole trade that is still with the team traded to.[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 12:10 AM. Reason : Yall should join the Central and have a chance like we do ][Edited on August 27, 2007 at 12:11 AM. Reason : ...]

Last week was supposed to be a week for the Braves to make up some ground on the Phils and Mets because they were playing strong teams and the Braves were playing sub-500 teams. Oh well for that shit. How the fuck do you go 2-5 against the fucking Reds and Cardinals.I feel bad for Texieria and Smoltz. They seem like the only players who even give a flying fuck about trying to win. Some pictures for this team:I guess the only hope for the Braves is that of the four teams ahead of them in the wild card, three have to play each other and the D-backs down the stretch so none will probably get too hot and the Braves will get a chance to beat the Phils. Either way this August swoon makes me
8/27/2007 12:02:20 PM
i think the silver lining is soriano will now close games instead of Fat Wickman
8/27/2007 12:03:24 PM
^ Soriano has been worse than Wickman in the 2nd half. Soriano seems to give up a HR everytime he takes the mound. The only reliever that I think we should let close is Moylan because nobody can hit his shit hard. The few times he's given up a run it is because of some texas leaguer type hits.
8/27/2007 12:10:53 PM
it's time to start regrouping for the off season. We need some pitching and we may be able to get it now that we don't have andruw jones' salary looming...
8/27/2007 12:51:06 PM
It's not like there is any good pitching on the market. You can overpay schmucks like Gil Meche and Adam Eaton and get nice 4th or 5th starters for ace prices. You have to build rotations from within or make trades for young pitchers. Unfortunately for you guys you traded away a good deal of your young pitching depth for offense that you didn't really need... Who are your top young pitching prospects now? Reyes?
8/27/2007 3:01:36 PM
i hate this. I've never had to deal with this for the past 15 years as a Braves fan... a real lack of talent at pitching...
8/27/2007 3:04:46 PM
8/27/2007 3:30:55 PM
I was more talking about Harrison, who was, I believe, your top young arm. Feliz is too young to really project. It would be worse, you could have traded Haren and Blanton for Mark Mulder.
8/27/2007 4:11:16 PM
8/27/2007 4:16:26 PM
yeah i've already blocked matt harrison's inclusion in that deal out of my mindthat was a pretty terrible decision on schuerholz's part---if we drop a single game of the marlins series, i'm officially giving up[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 5:43 PM. Reason : ]
8/27/2007 5:41:56 PM
well the injury bug isn't helping either. dotel and gonzalez would both be excellent choices at closer over the fat one, but they're both out. we'll be ok, but it might take a couple more years to stockpile some more young talent. if we have to overpay for a mediocre starter in the meantime though, so be it. smoltz maybe has 1 or 2 more seasons left in him, and hudson is hot or cold it seems. after them,
8/27/2007 5:43:48 PM
^^ Deal would've been "genius" if we were a game or two up in the division.
8/27/2007 5:47:00 PM
8/27/2007 5:47:57 PM
i really wish they would save some of these runs for some other games
8/27/2007 9:57:48 PM
^you and the tigers both16-0 win over the yankees tonight(and the rangers too im sure)[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 11:24 PM. Reason : rangers]
8/27/2007 11:23:34 PM
haha i've been looking for this graph forever
8/28/2007 8:06:21 PM
why didnt you just make one
8/28/2007 8:33:12 PM
haha, frenchy tossedwe only have corky miller and orr on the benchNEED A RIGHT FIELDER PLZ f'n pete orr in left field...fuck[Edited on August 28, 2007 at 10:20 PM. Reason : ]
8/28/2007 10:06:34 PM
^blame andruw for calling off orr on that balland doug eddings is the worst ump in baseball
8/28/2007 10:55:36 PM
yeah, i wasn't blaming orr, i was indirectly calling out eddings for throwing francouer that put us in that position.
8/29/2007 6:28:53 AM
Well since this season is now basically over, maybe the Braves can play spoiler with the Mets. If the Phils take tonight's game, they'll be three back and then hopefully the Braves can knock the shit out of the Mets this weekend to atleast allow the Phils to get even closer.I hate the Phils as much as anyone, but I hate the Mets too and I like seeing a good pennant race.
8/29/2007 11:40:59 AM
as of August 29th at 3:26 I am saying the braves will make the postseason. We shall see if I have what it takes...
8/29/2007 3:27:18 PM
8/29/2007 3:28:59 PM
shit, I'll just take one capable starter whose name doesn't rhyme with oltz or udson
8/29/2007 3:47:36 PM
i kinda wish they'd picked up loaiza off waivers. can't be any worse than reyes
8/29/2007 4:25:06 PM
holy fucking shit balls, lets just keep giving them runs and go to another 12 inning game
8/29/2007 7:58:04 PM
i'm fairly certain matt diaz won't be able to save our sorry asses every game
8/29/2007 8:37:00 PM
someone is gonna take matt diaz off of our hands sometime soon and have themselves a player
8/29/2007 8:50:52 PM
^ Diaz would make a solid DH, but he is pretty crappy in the field. He'd fit well with a lineup like the Red Sox (high BA, no speed), but alas they already have the best DH in baseball.I do hope the Braves keep him and make an effort to get him regular PT next year.
8/30/2007 2:38:52 PM
please sweep the mets please sweep the mets please sweep the mets please sweep the mets
8/31/2007 12:15:42 PM
How are you guys still 5 back in the L column? I just figured you'd be 2 or 3 back...[Edited on August 31, 2007 at 12:29 PM. Reason : who is pitching tonight?]
8/31/2007 12:29:15 PM
maine (i think) and hudsonsmoltz v. glavine for the 1000th time on sunday
8/31/2007 12:32:04 PM
I really hope the Braves play well this weekend just for the sake of screwing the Mets over. A team as talented as the Mets should have ran away with the division considering how horrible the Phillies started the season and how disgustingly horrible the Braves 3-5 starters are. Also does anyone know when Chuck "I throw like a girl" James or Octavio Dotel will be back from the DL?
8/31/2007 2:37:12 PM
still standing by my prediction. 4.5 out of both the wild card and the league lead. we play the mets 6 more times and the phillies a crap more. lets go bravos!
8/31/2007 3:42:28 PM
jesus, please make the damn playoffs.
8/31/2007 3:44:37 PM
Phillies falter, Braves go down to the wire into the last week of the season, securing a wildcard if not the division title.I call it.
8/31/2007 3:48:12 PM
6 more against the mets and phillies, we are gettin the wild card atleast.
8/31/2007 4:29:30 PM
I just wish smoltz and hudson could pitch ever other day for 9 innings.
8/31/2007 4:31:01 PM
well at least we're losing, thats all we can ask for rightseriously, if we can't win even with huddy and smoltz on the mound then just stop playing now
8/31/2007 9:54:00 PM
this wasn't the time for the offense to not show up.
8/31/2007 10:00:32 PM
[/season]
9/2/2007 4:02:39 PM
hopefully the panthers don't suck balls as much as the braves, or if they do, lose every game so i don't care so much when they come up short
9/2/2007 7:01:00 PM
