Did not think I would like this episode, but damn-I think it was betta than the JL episode. This has kind of renewed my faith that they will finish out strong. So wassup with "Not your typical pregnancy" III
2/1/2007 9:00:44 PM
eh, the questions they left lingering at the end were good but it wasn't better than the JLA episode. next week's looks like more drama. i guess i'm just waiting for the next zoner or martian manhunter episode now
2/1/2007 9:03:06 PM
i thought this was the best episode of the season so far. sets up lots of cool stuff to look forward to..1. "Not your typical pregnancy, but everything is on schedule"... I knew something was up when the doctor and Lex were talking and Lana was in the room. When they met outside in the hall, I knew I was right. My bet is that Lex has used Lana to harbor some kind of experiment he is doing, that relates to 33.1 Either that, or Lex knows the baby will be unusual because of Zod inhabiting him during the fornication. 2. Clark should have a dose of red kryptonite at least once a month. His mother put it perfectly, "it doesn't change who you are, it just takes away your inhibitions". Clark laid it all out on the line tonight. Lex knows he was right...and Lana is discovering he is right, and that she still loves him. 3. Chloe and Jimmy are on the outs now, which will offer up some great drama for the rest of the season. I don't know how this will play out, but it will be important. I think Jimmy will try to get some dirt on Clark because of his extreme jealousy towards him.4. Lana has the mangled screw driver. My prediction is that she will discover Clark's secret, or he will finally confide in her. Something will happen between Clark and Lex, Lana will be involved and will die in the process, but not before declaring her love to Clark and him doing the same. She will die in his arms.
2/1/2007 10:10:45 PM
I think Lana dying would cause a hole in a long ago episode of her expecting a long life
2/2/2007 11:05:20 AM
i don't think she died early on in the comics either, but since this show is trying to "reinvent" his early years and because shows are known to go back on things they've done in the past who knows
2/2/2007 11:24:43 AM
as many times as they've pulled the memory mind wipe thing I wouldn't be surprised if she just ended up loses all of her memories from the past 7-8 years forever
2/2/2007 6:30:55 PM
bttt
2/8/2007 2:31:35 PM
good episode
2/8/2007 9:06:45 PM
i forgot about it and only saw the second halfi want to see lex openly go after clark eventually
2/8/2007 9:19:38 PM
so... what happened?? i missed it last night
2/9/2007 9:12:47 AM
I just watched the episode in season 1 where the fat chick starts swallowing people whole. good stuff
2/9/2007 10:45:10 AM
last night's episode wasn't that great. a stalker was after lana and it was painfully apparent from the beginning it was one of lex's guards. she's getting close to finding out the truth about clark because she had the bent crowbar or whatever that lex stabbed him with. she also went snooping around chloe's computer and clark's room trying to find out anything she could about his "secret." at the end of the episode, the crowbar she had taken from be barn mysteriously disappeared and lex showed up at clark's barn to confront him and give him an invitation to the wedding. and oh yeah, chloe and jimmy got back together.
2/9/2007 12:35:06 PM
Lex must have stabbed Clark with that thing pretty fucking hard for it to bend like that. Imagine driving that into a brick wall as hard as you could... that thing wouldn't bend.
2/9/2007 1:02:40 PM
yeah.. that's what i said right when it happened...even if clark's skin is strong enough to withstand the impact, lex isn't strong enough to bend it in the first place
2/9/2007 2:54:03 PM
i think it has more to do with clark's overall body structure. in the past, knives and other sharp objects have shattered when striking him instead of bending or becoming dull. whatever the reason, i don't think you were supposed to analyze that closely. it is, afterall, just a tv show
2/9/2007 4:43:19 PM
i still don't remember lana ever picking it up in the barn. i could've sworn it showed the chisel lying there bent while lexana scurried away
2/10/2007 11:15:25 AM
Yeah, of course they didn't show it. It's one of those things that just happen to make the plot more dramatic.Did she actually take the necklace out of clark's bedroom?
2/10/2007 11:21:49 AM
where did that necklace come from? I forgot
2/10/2007 11:35:25 AM
nah, she put it back in the box and closed the drawer, although i'm sure next week will begin with her gazing at it from inside the mansion
2/10/2007 11:35:48 AM
that was the necklace from season one she wore around her neck. it was a piece of kryptonite from the meteor that killed her parents. she gave it to clark to use against the kid in the first season that took clark's powers. i forget if it was when they changed powers again, but something happened to it changing into an ordinary crystal.
2/10/2007 1:07:24 PM
ahhh yeah...that's right, thanks
2/10/2007 1:22:51 PM
is that the one that he wears around his neck on the cover of the season 1 dvd set? i think it was when the older guys tied him up in a corn field
2/10/2007 3:20:17 PM
yeah, wasn't that the very first episode?
2/10/2007 3:36:38 PM
yeah actually i think you're right
2/10/2007 3:37:34 PM
if i remember correctly, it had the "freak of the week" who could shoot out electricity or lightning...and he ended up getting pinned by the truck in a garage or something...here is the picture from wikipedia
2/10/2007 3:41:16 PM
and the season 1 dvd cover
2/10/2007 3:49:23 PM
^^ No, thats when Clark somehow lost his powers and Lana was dating Whitney and he and his football buddies hung him up on this thing and he put it around his neck while saying "you really like lana, huh? well this is about as close as you'll ever get to her"
2/10/2007 5:09:30 PM
The freak of the week was an electricity shooting guy for that episode. The reason why Clark doesn't have powers in that picture was because the rock around his next is green kryptonite. Clark's ship turned the green kryptonite into clear. Thats why lana is so confused, its the exact same thing as she used to have, but the stone changed color
2/10/2007 6:21:10 PM
yeah it was the very first episode
2/10/2007 8:07:43 PM
I've just been catching up on season 6 episodes, and I"m almost speechless as to how bad this show is sucking. Several seasons ago, I could with a straight face say this wasn't another incarnation of Dawson's Creek, but not so now. Someone is sucking someone's dick because all this Lana/Clark/Lex garbage should never have made it in the series. Lana's character is totally unbelievable. Clark is written like a pouting, whiny pussy, and the writing for Lex's character is getting suckier each episode by incorporating the unbelievable "romance" with Lana. Lionel has gone through so many goodguy/badguy/inbetweenguy transformations that he's not really a believable character much anymore either. The meteor freak of the week problem that plagued earlier seasons was a way better problem to have than the situation the current series is in. To be fair, the phantom zone stuff is good, I like Green Arrow, and the Martian Manhunter appearance was nice. Characterwise, Lois is excellent (although I still think she has no right to be here), Chloe is a saving grace, and Jimmy Olsen is well done. I think that as the end of the show is coming, the writers are getting sloppy. Things like, "evil" Lana, Clark speeding around in front of people, showing his powers to a mexican kid without any hesitation, and having drippy plot movers like "lana is pregnant" are all things the writers wouldn't have done earlier in the series so as to keep the integrity intact. For any fantasy/sci fi show you have to suspend disbelief to swallow the supernatural/human elements, but when you make the characters regularly behave in unrealistic ways, the show's over. At least Heroes is on.
2/14/2007 12:21:45 PM
think about the flip side of that. if the characters didn't change but instead remained static from season to season, the show would get dull and redundant. the pregnancy thing isn't as straight forward as it seems (don't know how far into the season you are). i agree that the relationship between lana and lex is unbelievable, but so are a lot of things in this show. i don't really see clark as whiny, but rather as becoming even more of an introvert. i think overall, the show has actually showed a lot of maturity.

I don't even have a problem with having romance in the story, since that's a part of the growing experience. My only problem is with the characters regularly doing and saying things that real people would not. I think there's been a pretty clear production push for the hotness/romance elements of the show: get Lana lots of relationship drama, show off how good she looks; pair up lois with somebody (aquaman, green arrow), show lots of skin, make psycho meteor babes go after clark, etc. The contrived push for onscreen hotness has contorted the characters to the point of unbelievability. A couple seasons back I thought the writers were going somewhere interesting when Lana went to school in Paris: it is normal for highschool friends to part ways and do their thing. But, then they had to introduce that horrible witch nonsense and Lana became a central part of the story, bleh. I do think the writers are skillful at turning something bad into good: although I haven't seen, I gather the Lana pregnancy ultimately becomes a vehicle for Lex's research agenda. And, as bad as the whole witch thing was, we did get the fortress of solitude out of it. I just hope the writers don't get too much sloppier before the series ends.
2/14/2007 8:02:30 PM
just watched the justice league episode, which totally rocked. even the teary eyed goodbye scene of lois and oliver with the whiny rock music in the background was tolerable. great episode. Whatever happens after smallville, there's some great spinoff material here.
2/14/2007 9:23:19 PM
the way i look at it, the first 4 seasons had very little movement towards the actual main plot. it had some, but every episode was really just a new bad guy, i still watched it and liked it. but now in the last two seasons (including the 6th) the plot has been moving a lot, every episode pretty much contributing in someway to another idea or plot, making it exciting to watch. However, I feel that at any time they want to, they could end the show with Clark saying "I'm going to start my training now" thus ending the Smallville series before he is actually Superman. This would suck of course but that's what I see happening.
2/15/2007 1:13:19 AM
I love Smallville, and the "Justice" episode was excellent. BUT I'm ready for a few things to happen:1. Clark to stay the hell OUT of the barn and/or Lana takes a hike. We all know his destiny is with Lois Lane.2. Put on the damn suit, Superboy! It's past time for ALL the superheroes to suit up.3. It's time to see Batman-Bruce Wayne and/or Wonder Woman-Diana Prince. We've waited long enough. What's the hold up?4. And I would like to see more Lois (who wouldn't?):
2/15/2007 1:56:53 AM
5. to fly (for real)They have already made references to Gotham when Green Arrow was introduced. One of his school friends in the flashbacks mentioned something about going back to Gotham, but then I think he died like two seconds later so it couldnt of been him. But maybe its coming?
2/15/2007 11:53:20 AM
I remember reading some time ago, before Batman Begins, that they were going to do a Bruce Wayne Episode, but that got scratched the Batman Begins storyline/production. Not sure if they are going to bring it along now. I would love to see a Bruce Wayne intro...supposedly he was suppose to be friends with Lex and not really like Clark.... III
2/15/2007 3:29:59 PM
isn't there a "no tights, no flight" rule or something? ie they won't have an episode with him flying or wearing a costume
2/15/2007 4:10:07 PM
they had that rule when the series started, but rules were made to be broken so we'll have to see. i don't really want to see him in tights actually, but i'm about ready to see him fly. he's already done it as kal-el
2/15/2007 4:58:08 PM
well damn, no preview thus no new episode for awhile. i never really thought about chole as being a possible meteor freak. raises interesting questions...
2/15/2007 9:02:24 PM
wonder women? haha
2/15/2007 9:07:26 PM
the next ep doesn't air till march 15 per kryptonsite. blah
2/15/2007 9:56:33 PM
chloe was super hot this episode
2/16/2007 9:53:57 AM
you mean you liked seeing her tied up??
2/16/2007 10:51:57 AM
are you trying to imply that smallville is allowing me to explore hidden areas of my sexual preferences and that i'm into bondage? roflwell i knew nothing was going to happen to her because clark would get there in timebut yeah she was hot all tied up, then she was hot again all those times she was crying and desperate for help.
2/16/2007 6:01:51 PM
^ translation, you like very submissive women
