Diva I thought about you too at my cousin's wedding when we had floor-length formal navy dresses and one of the bridesmaids wore white patent sandals with a super chunky heel.
7/17/2012 7:56:46 PM
^^ guessing you meant too big for you? I came really close to getting one of these, but I went with an IUD instead. I've had the IUD for a week now and it's going great so far. No pain and my sex drive is back in full force. Yay for being horny again. Also, I thought of divababy when my boyfriend asked why he had to throw out his pleated khaki pants. My sex drive was crazy when I had my IUD
7/17/2012 8:00:07 PM
Um no the shoes were horrible - one was a strappy flappy heeled sandal. The other was an all white open toe wedge.
7/17/2012 8:22:47 PM
SF, there is another brand that I was looking into cause I thought the diva cup might be too big for me too. There are a couple other ones. I think the smallest one was the Lunette cup. I found it googling "smaller menstrual cup" or something. I ended up picking the Diva one because it had the most reviews on Amazon and most are positive and I figured there's no way to know what's best until you actually try it anyway, and I think it was the cheapest one.

Hahahaha I <3 you gals. The shoe descriptions make me wanna vom.com bmel....did he???
7/17/2012 11:25:45 PM
ugh, i'm so pissed, this boutique owner was supposed to order something for me and now she won't answer my email. I assume that means she didn't order it
7/17/2012 11:31:42 PM
she must have been feeling my mojo because she just sent me an email saying it isn't in stock yet. I wrote back and tell her there was one available on the designer's site all weekend "and i had a tiny hope it was sold to her" hahaha
7/18/2012 12:16:20 AM
^^^I told him it was me or the pleats. I'm donating them ASAP!
7/18/2012 1:25:59 AM
so... what's with the pleats? I really don't like the two slacks my husband has that are pleated - but mostly because the fabric is uber-cheap looking to me. Is it just that flat-front pants look better?
7/18/2012 7:29:56 AM
flat front are more flattering lol

Krallum, I'm not a butterface, I'm a butterbody.

So, I bought my first pair of skinny jeans. I need help with styling. What shoes and/or top would I wear with these:http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-pants/B24550972.jsp
7/18/2012 7:22:31 PM
I am jealous of people who can wear skinny jeans. They look beyond horrible on meI think they look good with chucks
7/18/2012 7:25:13 PM
7/18/2012 7:29:07 PM
Beethoven, those would look great with ballet flats or espadrilles
7/18/2012 7:37:24 PM
with those skinny jeans, i would go with a bright colored top (like a fun purple or pink) in a more loose material to balance everything out. i would keep the shoe simple (don't want anything too crazy or patterns clashing) if you go with a bright colored top. flats would be great but a basic round toe pump would also look awesome for a night out
7/18/2012 7:55:46 PM
Great ideas! Thanks y'all.
7/18/2012 7:56:42 PM
Well I personally would throw a patterned top with the pants, but I like mixing patterns. You would do fine with a solid color. I wouldn't go too bright because of the wash of those pants. They're more of a faded grey, so anything too bright would start to turn it trashy (i.e. the bright almost neon hues). I like how they paired it with a nice white crisp top. I'd throw the color in with your accessories (handbag, necklace, bracelet) or with your shoes. A ballet flat would be great or even some fun gladiator sandals. While a round toe pump would be fun, those polka dots add a little edge, so you can always go pointy with the heel.I hope that confuses you enough.

So I have to buy three new dresses for my cousin's wedding. One for the bridesmaid luncheon, one for the rehearsal, and one for the wedding. I have no idea what type of dresses to get. My mom said that my cotton sundresses are appropriate if the wedding was here at the beach but not for something at a country club in hickory. I don't know what the hell to get. I'm now allowed to wear a pair of rainbows with any of the dresses apparently...this pisses me off. So now I have to find a pair of shoes that I won't go absolutely crazy in.
7/19/2012 9:26:37 AM
lol see this is why Erica is the professional and i am not - she is much better at pairing clothes than i am
7/19/2012 9:27:49 AM
budget?
7/19/2012 9:29:39 AM
LOL you did fine CassieI almost didn't say anything, but I figured I'd confuse the situation a little just for shits n giggles haha
7/19/2012 9:34:49 AM
Hah! I liked all of the suggestions. I'll probably try a few things on tonight and post pictures for feedback. I rarely buy things that aren't put together for me on a mannequin. I'm just that bad at it.
7/19/2012 9:39:35 AM
My budget is going to Ross or TJ Maxx and finding something.I'm going to have to wait until my next payday. And I'm going to get something that I can wear around here too...I'm not going to buy a dress that is going to make me look way too overdressed if I wear it here, cause when I'm as broke as I am right now I can't afford to buy a dress that I'll wear once in a while...it's going to have to be a dress that gets regular rotation.
7/19/2012 9:40:27 AM
ok, here's my suggestion then- go for colorful maxis and try to dress it up with nice jewelry. that way you can stick to the the fabric you like. If your mom says something, just smirk and tell her she's terribly dated. ebay could be good. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Women-Summer-BoHo-Maxi-Long-Dress-Chiffon-Striped-Jointing-Empired-Waist-sd-DtwM-/271019313941?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item3f1a028b15#ht_2743wt_1112http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-S-M-L-6-8-10-12-Siam-Trendy-Brand-New-Kiwi-Green-Sleeve-BOHO-Maxi-Long-Dress-/271020904935?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item3f1a1ad1e7#ht_4170wt_1094http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Womens-Sexy-VNeck-Black-White-Kimono-Plus-Size-Evening-Party-Maxi-Dress-2X-/271016303984?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item3f19d49d70http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Womens-Sexy-VNeck-Black-White-Kimono-Plus-Size-Evening-Party-Maxi-Dress-2X-/271016303984?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item3f19d49d70 I like the blue with red and black and greenbut, since you like sundresses, I feel like I should share some long maxi looks which are too casualNO string around the neck http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sz-M-S159-Purple-Womens-Summer-fashion-ethnic-boho-beach-Long-maxi-Dress-/160842802295?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item2572fa6477#ht_5145wt_1325NO shirred top. and string around the neck. blegh. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SiZE-XL-TEAL-PAiSLEY-CRiNKLE-TiERED-LAYERED-BOHO-VTG-MAXi-DRESS-W-SMOCKED-BODiCE-/150855723189?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item231fb3a8b5#ht_500wt_1344NO bandeau waist, or whatever the fuck this is http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lady-Bohemia-Womens-Boho-Cocktail-Maxi-Evening-Sleeveless-Pleated-Long-Dress-/261040736070?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&var=&hash=item3cc73d8746YES grecian. Why don't you help someone with some style (i.e. me) search for some cute BLACK cocktail dresses.I want short so I can wear some shoes that I need to show off. And if you look at the status I posted last night on facebook, you'll get a drift at the style I like.Of course I'm staring at that sequin Igigi dress right now
7/19/2012 10:11:10 AM
Sarah have you thought about maybe doing a black skirt and getting 2 tops and then a dress for the wedding? you could probably get a lot more wear out of the tops and skirt in the future than 3 dresses.
7/19/2012 10:47:24 AM
^ I was gonna suggest the same thing. Mix & Match is your best friend. There are some BEAUTIFUL flowy tops that are cool for summer and that can be dressed up with a skirt and the right accessories... or dressed down with a nice pair of jeans. It's a better way to maximize the overall value of your wardrobe.
7/19/2012 10:52:39 AM
value may be the wrong word to use...you can't maximize value when your clothes are worthlessbut yes having more pieces to mix and match is the best way to go
7/19/2012 11:11:56 AM
I still think it works. Clothes have value, regardless of whether you're wearing True Religion jeans or Wranglers. For example, my True Religions may have value ... they're expensive. But if I'm on my family's farm, they're practically worthless because I would never wear them. Wouldn't want to get cow manure on them. That said, separates have more functional value because you're more likely to wear them.Clothing is fashion/art ... but it's also functional. So if you have expensive clothing that serves no function, it's essentially worthless.[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 11:17 AM. Reason : f]
7/19/2012 11:15:59 AM
labels don't make valuegood construction and quality fabric make value...no point in buying a cheap skirt that you plan on mixing and matching when you can only get 2 wearings out of the deal
7/19/2012 11:28:33 AM
I'm with you on that one! Though I will say that some brands are associated with better quality construction and materials.Lululemon attire is worth every penny. Their clothing is SOLID. That's my label-snob weakness.
7/19/2012 11:33:54 AM
yeah I've been looking at them because I want to buy more clothes for yogahaven't pulled the trigger yet
7/19/2012 11:38:23 AM
Lululemon looks like shit on my body typeI can't do built in bras in workout tops. I need to wear a sports bra & I have yet to find a workout top from them without a built in.Also I'm not sure if I am just retarded or what but I can't find yoga pants there that look good on me. I'm ready to throw down the dollars but I experience massive fail ever time I go into a dressing room there. I don't get it, I'm pretty decent as choosing flattering clothes but not there.
7/19/2012 11:41:23 AM
why's it gotta be black? the grey one is pretty too I dunno why, but I'm feeling lacy for you. this one^ comes in navy and black tooThis one has a beautiful back and I really like the pleating, but idk. beading is fussyget funkaaaaayor just go as a flasherI love that trench. srsly. need.
7/19/2012 11:47:56 AM
Diva, have you tried on their clothing in-store yet? Definitely give it a shot. I was skeptical until I tried on the clothing in-store and noticed the material and construction details. Though you may have the same issue as Wolfy ... a lot of my bustier friends prefer other brands of yoga/workout clothes because the sports bra issue is so tricky.I LOVE their run skirts and shorts. There's a little elastic band at the bottom of the shorts that keep them from riding up. Pretty awesome if you hate the workout wedgie. Also, Wolfy, bummer ... but you look amazing in basically everything I've seen you in (from your pics ITT)!
7/19/2012 11:52:56 AM

^ ooh, can you do retro, diva?If you like that last one torrid has it like $20 or $25 cheaper
7/19/2012 11:57:30 AM
hahah GREEN JAYBlack because my frans at Fan Feet (http://www.fanfeet.com) are giving me some Wolfpack heels to wear to the gala to advertise for them. I really want to rock lace or sequins, so you're on the right path. That lace boatneck dress is really cute!-------------On to yoga...I do hot yoga so I need some moisture wicking pants..right now I'm ok with my compression capris. I might just stick with those. I do want some of the "babydoll" style yoga tops though. I think they're so prettiful, but like Wolfy I have to rock a separate sports bra with my tops too.

7/19/2012 12:14:44 PM
That last dress is hot. Very Jessica Rabbit.
7/19/2012 12:17:15 PM
haha, those shoes are cool. which version of them are you going to get, the all-red? I like the fuck-me version with the red heel and platformyeah, the last dress for sure. I have a spanx-type slip like this and I love it because it never does weird things at the bust and I can wear a slutty bra[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 12:21 PM. Reason : ]
