I actually love that (one of my favourite styles of dresses of all time) and was considering getting it just in general, until I read the reviews...apparently even a 12 won't fit DD's my body is VERY difficult to buy dresses for (that aren't like 10% stretch fabric)Plus, I think the straps are too chunky and close-set to work with the necklace. I was either hoping for strapless or very wide set on the shoulders.

Wolfy...Which version of that banana dress did you get? It's gorgeous material [Edited on July 6, 2012 at 10:34 AM. Reason : e]

If you have big boobs you need to look at the dresses Fredericks sells. I'm so sad I can't wear any of their clothes or corsets because I have tiny boobs.
7/6/2012 10:37:46 AM
rewear value on knits is relatively low. especially from express, ugh. you'd probably get pills from a plastic chair. I think you should check some fancy consignment or vintage shops, i think the chance of finding higher-end LBDs in good condition could be fairly high. take the necklace!

fredericks = no go. at all. HALP

I KINDA WANT YOU TO HAVE MORE MONEY TO SPEND ON THIS DRESS
7/6/2012 4:12:03 PM
Version? It was on the sale rack & I shop almost exclusively at the outlet so me even being in the retail store was a one off. It has short sleeves, does that help?I'm going to get my ass in gear & post it up here in a bit before I go out!
7/6/2012 4:55:07 PM
oh the outletwas wondering if it's the one they have now in the strapless or with-straps version
7/6/2012 5:04:08 PM
It has sleeves & I bought it at the regular banana at the mallI haven't seen any lace dresses at the outlet but inventory can vary widely among stores I have found
7/6/2012 5:09:28 PM
lol I read your statement wrongI thought you bought it at the outlet...but you were saying you normally only shop at the outletI'M ON THE SAME PAGE NOW

7/6/2012 7:22:24 PM
DIVA!!ok here is the dress with the belt...without the belt (seems too loose around my waist then fitted again over my hips which is why i think i need the beltup close shot so you can see the type of fabricaaand shoe options (turns out i had more than 2 candidates. they're all peep toe except the far left, those have an ankle strappy thing.)what thinks you? and everyone else too. i wanna know if i am doing this right
7/6/2012 7:38:18 PM
i know you're not asking me but ..... I think you look slimmer without the beltthough it could just be the way you were standing]
7/6/2012 7:39:58 PM
i welcome all opinions!i see what you mean. i have some love handles so i feel like the belt does make those more obvious. i'm not huge on wearing belts like this but the looseness around my waist kind of bothers me. its fitted over my boobs & hips but not the area in between. i dont think its alter-able either
7/6/2012 7:43:27 PM
If you're gonna belt that dress...go skinnyOf the shoe choices, I like the brown peep toe with the buckle (2nd from the left)

I like it better with the belt. I don't care for the color of the belt though. A nice green belt or something would add a nice pop of color. I second diva on making it a skinnier beltLooks cute btw
7/7/2012 1:51:31 AM
sup JEN?were you at dat bar next to shanghai like 2 nights ago?I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
7/7/2012 2:26:33 AM
Wolfy, my first pick was the same as diva's, I think the anne kleins could look hot with a skinny white belt. maybe a wood pendant or bangle.just take that sucker in an inch or two in the waist. if anyone here has teh skillz, it's you!
7/7/2012 8:41:54 AM
thanks for the feedback ladies. i'm feeling the skinny belt suggestion!! i'm going to bust out my color wheel that i use for sewing & see what kind of combos i can dodiva, thanks for confirming my suspicion that the shoes second from left were a valid choice. i wear the fuck out of those shoes & they tend to go with a lot of my wardrobegreenjay, white belt white shoes suggestion-- digging it! i could even get crazy with it next year and get a red belt & wear the white shoes. i just need to find an indoor bbq bc no way am i wearing that dress in july heat outdoorsmeg, i wasn't trying to be down on myself. i'm quite comfortable with my body but im also very modest in a lot of ways & feel uncomfortable when certain features are not displayed in the most optimal way. i know my strengths & play to them. my boobs are covered up in this dress so my go-to feature is eliminated & i just get self conscious about the rest, if that makes any ridiculous sense.in other girly news-- my seychelles are on their way!! (who doesn't love free shoes?! thanks for the help in picking them out btw)would they go with this navy dress? i'm also feeling a yellow belt but would need to do something about the shoes...
7/7/2012 10:14:16 AM
http://prepaganda.tumblr.compretty neat[Edited on July 7, 2012 at 2:15 PM. Reason : I really want that second pair of shoes in wolfy's picture.]
7/7/2012 2:12:45 PM
Those wedges would definitely go with that dress...and I think I like them better than any of your heelsYou can do any color belt with that navy btw (it's basically a neutral)
7/7/2012 2:48:13 PM
hey girlone of the models from my event last night...I thought she looked prettiful
7/7/2012 8:48:18 PM
she's gorgeous, but there's just something off about that top to me. i love the makeup and little pop of color in her hair.
7/7/2012 8:52:30 PM
She is beautiful, and I want her legs.
7/7/2012 8:53:33 PM
I'll get some more images in a few days...the top looked better standing up (but I know what you're saying)This girl had on my favorite dress...it's amaze (and was actually photographed in Vogue Italia)here's the Vogue image
7/7/2012 8:59:14 PM
heh, i feel like that picture isn't doing the dress any favors (vogue)<and the makeup looks almost wearable on that chick getting that on monday... less than $50 whoohoo. I guess it will be a size too big though.
7/8/2012 12:47:07 AM
I like the color!
7/8/2012 12:54:01 AM
I want my back to look like this! ]

Haha thank you both
7/8/2012 5:14:30 PM
Trying out rent the runway for my bridal shower - gave me a code for my birthday for $50 off a $75 or more rental - I couldn't find something I was happy with to buy under a hundred, so I get to rent something that I liked for $25. Not bad, we'll see how I like it.

By far the hardest decision for my wedding has been my shoes.. I can't find anything I like except for these:The cheapest I can get them for is $375 Anyone know of anything similar for cheaper?[Edited on July 8, 2012 at 5:49 PM. Reason : .]
7/8/2012 5:49:05 PM
Those are the same shoes I wore Totally worth the money! I wore my shoes all night and never once wanted to take them off.
7/8/2012 6:06:49 PM
Killin me, Cass.I wish you were short like meeeeee.. but I do love that we have similar style
7/8/2012 6:22:31 PM
I was planning on wearing those shoes to my weddingI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
7/8/2012 6:23:42 PM
I'm 5'4. How short are you? Seriously I paid double than what you can find the shoes for and I would have paid even more. Seriously most comfortable shoes ever. And they're even more gorgeous in person.
7/8/2012 6:25:58 PM
I made the mistake of trying them on at Saks yesterday. I'm 5' 1" and I wear a 6 or 6.5
7/8/2012 7:00:31 PM
I believe I assisted in that shoe decision they're really great shoes and that's a good price eggy
7/8/2012 7:16:13 PM
Diva, I wouldn't have expected any less from you! Great choice, ladies.I think the mary jane strap would be VERY helpful on a long day like a wedding day.I actually just found out I can get $90 more taken off so now I'm seriously considering it.
