Doesn't help now, but next year order one online in March or April and they will be much cheaper. That's how I got my patagonia from 6pm for $30 shipped.

If you want a 1 piece to wear while nannying Sam's club has speedo ones on the cheap.

I definitely need at least one more for work. Today I was looking for something simple to go under my long sleeved rash guard for beach days.

Sounds like the ones from Sam's club are what you need. They were under $30 if I remember right. Are you in Raleigh? I have a card.

Ok, I haven't been in a couple weeks but they probably still have them in stock. It's really hard to find a plain, decently priced suit and that's exactly what they are.

I have had zero luck finding board shorts that fit me and aren't all up in my crack.

After hearing all the love for VersaSpa, I saw a deal on Plum District for it, and I decided to jump.

Deal on Plum District for $20 for two VersaSpa or Mystic Tanning Sessions, expires 9/5/12. http://www.plumdistrict.com/three_for_free/d6ff1bbae3/click. Promotion code PDBDAY gives you 20% off today only, making it $16.

Just putting it out there for anyone else that wants to give it a try. It handly expires a few days after my wedding, so I'll be giving it a try before my shower, and then if I like it, again before my wedding.

Their VersaSpa is in Brier Creek, nice and close to me. The Mystic tanning things are closer to downtown Raleigh.

after reading some decent reviews on amazon, I bought the veet waxing strips to try on my legs. apparently I need to watch some youtube tutorials to get it right though. according to some of the reviewers if done right, it works great and much less painful than salon waxing.

I would not recommend waxing your own legs. if you are hell bent on doing it at home have someone else pull the strips off.

personally, I like the hard wax rather than the kind that needs strips

Why would you not recommend it? Just the level of pain? Or the angle or something? For some reason my pain threshold is MUCH higher when I'm the one administering it

I heard hard wax is better because it gets more hairs the first go and has less of a chance for ingrown

I'm not sure what "hard wax" is (versus a salon pot or something) but these are the kind that you just warm up with your hand or a blow dryer or smething

I tried one of the sally hansen microwavable pots of wax and don't recommend it. It went from unusably cold and hard to burn you hot pretty much instantly. Left scars that are just now fading years later and tons of ingrown hairs. I'll keep on shaving until I can afford laser hair removal.

I use the strips for my eyebrows. Super easy.

Bought a bunch of swimsuits at walmart to cover my suit deficit until I can afford the ones I want from land's end.

Thanks for the heads up on the Seychells and Naots. But I'm more comfortable with a sneaker for extended walking. I've never walked much on Mary Janes or sandals.

The Eccos just got here! They are a bit darker than they appear in the picture, and a little narrow but I think the leather will stretch out. I'm bringing them on vacation and I will do TONS of walking but I want something nicer (and more European) than a running shoe. What do you guys think? I'm worried that they will look ratty after some use. Would they look out of place at say, a nice restaurant? I'm planning to wear them with either jeans or a summer dress.

PS ... I'm starting to worry that they look a lot like bowling shoes! Any thoughts??

Don't know about the fashion stuff, but the ecco mary janes probably don't feel much different than those to wear around. Mine are fairly comfy even with the stock insoles.

Why has no one said a word about this dress?

WTF is happening here? It has 3 different things going on....sparkly shoulder, sheer poncho crap, and then the window blinds pleating on the skirt.

Maybe this picture was a troll?

I was trying to erase that dress from my memory. It's really confusing. Difficult for the eyes to process.

Hard wax doesn't require strips and its the kind my waxer uses. The amount of pain is much less. At least for me. You still need to heat it in a salon pot like the other kind of wax. Microwaving wax is a bad idea

I will NEVER use soft wax. Hard wax is so much gentler. Especially with delicate lady bits.

Not sure I'd ever wanna wax my legs though. Shaving isn't that annoying in that region.

I know someone brings it up every dozen pages or so, but if you haven't been yet this year- PLEASE GO GET YOUR ANNUAL. It takes less than five minutes of being uncomfortable- the worst part is waiting around. Long story short, I just found out I have early cervical cancer- and almost didn't go get one this year because it wasn't required for my birth control prescription. I probably would be loosing my cervix if I had waited another year.

PS- Nuvaring is going up to over $80 a month at Planned Parenthood starting June 26th because of that bill that just went through. Life just keeps getting better and better for the uninsured.

at least they caught it early I've had the cancer scare before. It turned out to be nothing but it scared me shitless. I go get checked every 6 months now because I'm paranoid.

good luck

^^ That sucks about Nuvaring. I just switched to it 2 months ago. Is there any reason other than convenience why you chose it over the pill? At first it was making me moody and giving me breakouts. Now I think I have adjusted to the hormones and I love it! I was so bad at remembering to take a pill every day

I was on nuvaring for probably 3 years, and I think I paid for it once. Between my PCP (who was also an obgyn) and my gyno, I had a steady stream of samples in my fridge.

^^^ I started on it when I was 18 because I'm a bit scatterbrained, and have been on it since because it works well for me. Three day periods, no "crap I was four hour late for my pill" worries, no side effects... I just don't think I can afford it anymore and that really, really sucks. I'm probably going to spend my whole next paycheck on them and grab six months or so. :-/

not a lady, but would like the female perspective:

going to a wedding this weekend, and I was planning on wearing my seersucker pants and a white/cream linen shirt- what color tie should I wear (not going to bring the jacket). Note: it is the classic Blue/white seersucker

It's not Easter

you can literally wear any color tie you want. I prefer patterns (especially a madras plaid)

I like the dress I posted. But I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Upon closer inspection, I think it's the pleats on the skirt.

But I would still wear it.
