I doubt Rivera's seat is as hot as we all want it to be.

Currently sitting at the #8 pickI'd take Cooper or the best OT tackle on the board in a heartbeat at that spot.
12/1/2014 11:25:52 AM
At least New Orleans and Atlanta won this week to go ahead and get that idea out of our heads that there is still a chance.
12/1/2014 12:02:59 PM
I think Cooper is a heck of a talent, but when is the last time a NFL team took WR's in the first round 2 years in a row and had a notably better team for it?Problem is I don't see any sure-fire top 10 OT's popping up so far this year. I'm sure a few guys(Scherff? Stanley go pro early? Peat?) will bubble to the top come combine time after Kiper and the media hype them up.

Calvin Johnson didn't make the Lions good right away or on his own, but they sure do love having him. If Cooper can be that for the Panthers then I would support that pick.
12/1/2014 1:11:35 PM
12/1/2014 1:14:26 PM
cheap talent, too
12/1/2014 1:21:48 PM
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11964172/deangelo-williams-carolina-panthers-broken-bone-handDeAngelo is injured.....again.
12/1/2014 2:51:27 PM
this season is over for the Panthers. until we get Stewart and Williams off of our payroll we're gonna be strapped by the salary cap. having Hardy play would have been nice, or at least not having the $13m hit. I don't like the idea of using another first round pick on a WR. We've got to focus on the offensive line and give Cam some time to throw. If we do pick up a WR, I hope it's somebody from the free agency that's still fast and has a proven record.
12/1/2014 2:56:18 PM
sucks for him. but stewart has been the best back this year.
12/1/2014 2:57:37 PM
I'd take Rex Ryan as coach in a heartbeat.
12/1/2014 9:25:09 PM
should be plenty of cheap FA RBs in the offseason, but we really need to shore up the offensive line
12/1/2014 10:46:12 PM
OL is definitely the most pressing need. Can we really do anything about Stewart and DeAngelo this offseason...or is it still more beneficial to the cap to wait till they're contracts are up?
12/2/2014 9:57:42 AM
^not really. we're stuck with them for another year. we made sure that we locked down those mediocre running backs when we had the chance!
12/2/2014 10:50:59 AM
Unfortunately for RBs I think the NFL has come to the realization that you really only need a serviceable back who can block and pick up yards when you need them. There is really not a ton of difference between the great backs and guys you can pay a lot less so long as you have an oline who can open up the holes.

http://blackandbluereview.com/panthers-quarterback-cam-newton-two-seasons-in-one/Interesting read on Cam's first 5 games compared to his last 6 games this season.
12/2/2014 11:29:24 AM
Cason and Jason Williams cut. Bye.
12/2/2014 2:31:44 PM
^^Yeah, even acknowledging that the problems along the offensive line would have ruined even the best QB/WRs tandems in the league (which we are far from having) , it gave us our best chance to win. Running the read option with a stable of gimps and olds has no chance at all, while also hindering Cam's development as passer. With our crap offensive line and running backs, we should be running the shotgun out of single or empty back sets 90% of the time. Cam can still be effective as improvisational runner, or on designed runs, but the focus should be throwing the ball down the field.

factors like any offensive lineman that doesn't go in the first round is probably going to suck
12/3/2014 2:17:21 PM
12/3/2014 2:50:35 PM
I really don't care if he's fired or not. Richardson won't bring anyone worth getting excited about. He'll bring in another "Yes" man that won't stand up to him or Gettleman or bring any freshness to the franchise and we'll continue to get more of the same mediocrity and canned non-answers fed to us. I'm over this team for 14/15
12/3/2014 3:07:30 PM
great first drive
12/7/2014 1:09:27 PM
Who the hell was that team on the first drive?!
12/7/2014 1:13:58 PM
this is a very strange start...not the panthers i'm used to seeing.
12/7/2014 1:14:38 PM
TD would've been nice. Cam had Cotchery wide open there. But 10-0 is a great start
12/7/2014 1:20:03 PM
12/7/2014 1:22:28 PM
Obligatory: Fuck Roman Harper
12/7/2014 1:22:54 PM
don't think he was down by contact on that INT but whatever
12/7/2014 1:27:11 PM
WHo the hell are these guys??
12/7/2014 1:30:35 PM
Look at that gate. Is nothing built well in New Orleans?
12/7/2014 1:31:14 PM
I saw no punches
12/7/2014 1:32:29 PM
12/7/2014 1:32:52 PM
I, too, came here to question where this team has been all season.
12/7/2014 1:34:14 PM
Unarmed Black QB shoved during celebration. #NOjustice
12/7/2014 1:34:17 PM
God I hate the saints
12/7/2014 1:34:56 PM
and now, at least for the rest of this half, the panthers are going to be right back in the hunt for the playoffs.Thomas Davis and Jimmy Graham still haven't patched things up I see

fuck the saints
12/7/2014 1:42:36 PM
that was a great throw by cam, but kelvin dropped itand regardless of how good the throw was...3rd and 2 and we go 40 yards down field. for what feels like the 100th time this season[Edited on December 7, 2014 at 1:44 PM. Reason : spelling]
12/7/2014 1:44:35 PM
The cam run on 3rd and short is automatic. Kelvin's hands are the opposite of automatic.
12/7/2014 1:45:23 PM
hopefully a seasons worth of drops by Kelvin will teach some to not buy whatever the company line is during training campall they are are talking points and narrative builders
12/7/2014 1:52:50 PM
Josh Norman...
12/7/2014 1:54:27 PM
2 drops now on 3rd and 2. one deep by kelvin (still questionable play call, imo) and now tolbert
12/7/2014 2:02:00 PM
2 blocked punts, giving up huge yards to nobody punt returners. Fire special teams coach asaps yo
12/7/2014 2:03:10 PM
why are we passing on 3rd and 2?
12/7/2014 2:05:03 PM
I'm so FN MAD! We have a quarterback who always gets us first downs on 3 and short and we keep calling pass plays...then we follow that up now twice with punts that get returns of 30 plus. Our special teams is the worst I have ever seen! We might as well have a 6 yard punt clemson game style or go for it on 4th down. The coaches WANT to lose WTF
12/7/2014 2:05:06 PM
^^especially with Cam running so well in those situations already today
12/7/2014 2:06:39 PM
