12/9/2012 3:42:19 PM

i feel like the announcers are putting way too much emphasis on the coin toss lol.

I just posted that stat in Chit Chat a few minutes ago.

If Ron Rivera was our DC everyone would love him. Shame he's a bit out of his depth at HC.Some team is going to love him at DC next year, hopefully it's not a team we play often.
12/9/2012 10:41:26 PM
Just got back from the game. What happened?
12/9/2012 11:23:59 PM
If you're referring to my post nothing happened, I'm just operating under the assumption that RR will be gone at the end of the year, which seems likely.
12/9/2012 11:32:05 PM
Being that Big Cat is a former player and Rivera is a former player (even though I've heard it was a Hurney decision and not one of Richardson's top choices), I think he might give Rivera one more year...aka a full year to coach without Hurney making personnel decisionsOf course everything I hear is that if they bring in a new full-time GM before the season is over, Rivera is gone and the GM will bring in his own guy...if a new GM gets appointed in the off-season, Rivera will most likely get one more year to prove himselfalso I love this:
12/9/2012 11:49:45 PM
Richardson is cheap and rivera has two more years on his contract, I predict he's back next year. I don't like rivera, but its a little unfair to blame him for the horrible roster hurney assembled. It's going to take a few years to undo the salary cap damage. Personally I say release all the cap killers and bite it next year. We can't afford to waste all five of the cheap Cam years. He's going to be making $20M soon and then our whole advantage is neutralized.

Don't you mean the Carolina PantheRedsoxBecause that song is much more famously related to them than UNC.
12/10/2012 12:11:23 AM
12/10/2012 12:11:24 AM
^^ i associate that song to UNC. Couple that with the team location name[Edited on December 10, 2012 at 12:19 AM. Reason : U]
12/10/2012 12:14:21 AM
I hate the Gamecocks because they remind me of the Tar Heels...
12/10/2012 12:14:50 AM
^^^ Bravo. Hate it when a Panther fan comes up with 'Richardson is cheap'. Shows what a shitty fanbase we have when a good hunk of them think our owner is a cheapskate
12/10/2012 12:21:50 AM
We've always hired relatively cheap coaching staffs so i dont know what you are talking about. He was also one of the first one's to sell PSL's and he has campaigned for taxpayer money for stadium upgrades. He was also one of the most vocal owners in trying to steal the player's money during the strike, remember? He also completely tanked a season so that he could make huge profits. He's certainly on the cheap end of the spectrum when it comes to NFL owners.
12/10/2012 12:25:42 AM
with the amount of money that they gave delhomme, he's earned the right never to be called that......now foolish on the other hand....
12/10/2012 12:27:47 AM
PSLs, ok, but i'd say that makes him savvy more than cheapand yes, 17 years into the 17.5 year old franchise, he began asking for tax money for stadium upgrades...so in that respect, he's been cheap since mid-2012he was one of the most vocal of the owners during the lockout, but the other 31 were on his side...that hardly makes him any cheaper than any other owner...and i already conceded he was cheap exactly one year, for the purposes of getting Cam for a 21M rookie contract instead of a 60M contract for an overhyped rookie like Sam Bradfordhe's certainly not in the cheap spectrum of ownersi'd expect someone like yourself who followed statistics and finances and general numbers so closely to realize this
12/10/2012 12:29:49 AM
not to mention he is one of the more well respected owners among his peers. I'd much rather have him as my owner than what Detroit, Cincinnati, Dallas, Oakland, Arizona, Miami, etc etc have to deal with
12/10/2012 12:37:07 AM
Just wanted to note that Luke Kuechly had 16 tackles in the game. He now leads the NFL with 130 tackles on the year. Beast.
12/10/2012 8:32:39 AM
Yeah since moving to the inside he's been a tackling machine. Like I said all along it really sucks to have to burn a top ten pick on an inside lb, but he's good enough to justify it and LB was definitely a position of need for us.
12/10/2012 8:41:06 AM
How do Panther's feel about Cam's 1st down celebration? If I was an opposing defender, I would lay his ass out.
12/10/2012 8:41:27 AM
If you're a big enough pussy to get butthurt over another football player celebrating a touchdown, you probably don't need to be in the league anyway. He can't celebrate if you do your job and stop him.
12/10/2012 8:53:27 AM
I'm sure if he knew he'd get 15 free yards for doing it, he would do it after every play first down or not.Don't like the dance? don't let him get a first down.
12/10/2012 8:54:04 AM
12/10/2012 8:55:42 AM
12/10/2012 8:58:24 AM
Well based on that pro bowl story last week he's not real popular around the league. I don't understand why he gets so much attention for his personality. Can't we just evaluate him as a football player?
12/10/2012 9:09:01 AM
If they evaluated him as a football player all those sportswriters who predicted him to struggle would look foolish and wouldn't be able to say "I told you so"
12/10/2012 9:23:43 AM
What I want to know is why do sportswriters have it in for him and not RGIII they are similar players and one could argue had Cam not had the success he had RGIII would not have been a top 2 pick.
12/10/2012 9:29:58 AM
12/10/2012 10:16:38 AM
Manti Te'O was 2nd in Heisman voting and had 103 tackles this yearKuechly had 191 last year
12/10/2012 10:32:40 AM
Guess I got my answer...Some players act like they've been there...some players make a production out of everything. Fans give a pass when its their team and hate it when players of the other 31 teams do similar things.(first downs are different than touchdowns)[Edited on December 10, 2012 at 10:39 AM. Reason : .]
12/10/2012 10:38:04 AM
it's not like Cam Newton is Freddie Mitchell and can't back it up. I would celebrate a first down too if i turned a sack loss of 7 yards into a 25+ yard scramble for a first down. on third down nonetheless. ]
12/10/2012 11:01:37 AM
Watch Steve Smith's blocks...
12/10/2012 11:54:30 AM
12/10/2012 12:08:30 PM
TO isn't in the league anymore. Cam Newton is the only person in the league who does this after every sing first down.I'm apathetic towards the Panthers. In fact...I normally cheer for them unless they are playing against Rivers/Wilson/some-team-that-has-a-lot-of-my-fantasy-players. I just find his 1st down "celebrations" annoying as fuck and am not surprised that homer fans "see no problem with it."
12/10/2012 12:12:35 PM
I like all forms of celebrations. TO is one of my all time favorite players, so I'm the wrong person to weigh in. I'm just glad to see Killa Cam making adjustments and not sucking these last several games. Now just don't mess up our draft pick too badly, please.
12/10/2012 12:33:28 PM
the superman thing is just incredibly, incredibly lame to me
12/10/2012 12:51:21 PM

Newton is John Elway type, Griffin is Steve Young type. But both get a good deal of production from running
12/10/2012 4:59:54 PM
I do the "Discount double check" every time I take a good massive dump.
12/10/2012 5:27:10 PM
Slave Famous does Jared Allen's calf roping sack celebration everytime he shoots ropes
12/10/2012 5:37:31 PM
^^^^ No, nothing alike at all:
12/10/2012 6:38:27 PM
Foster just did his celebration down 3 touchdowns in a blowout.jbrick83 must be fuming right now
12/10/2012 10:47:04 PM
oh heavens no, Tom Brady totally just gave the first down signal after running for a first down
12/10/2012 10:59:32 PM
Did you see Brady's celebration after a rushing first down? What an immature showboat.
