I have 5 receiversCalvin JohnsonBraylon EdwardsMark ClaytonPercy Harvin Steve Smith (NYG)I need to start 2 or possibly 3 (1 in flex) this week. I am adding Ryan torain (still on waivers). is torain worth the flex spot? Its the GB defense, IDKtell me who i should playthx[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 1:15 AM. Reason : NYG]
10/6/2010 1:15:25 AM
I would start Johnson, and Edwards without question. I would check up until gameday as to whether or not Portis is going to play, if he doesn't play Torain, if he does, play Clayton who has a pretty solid matchup this week.
10/6/2010 8:24:44 AM
deal is pretty much done
10/6/2010 8:35:57 AM
Who do I start Tolbert or Matthews this week? That's the only real decision I have to make since A. Foster, Lloyd, and Austin are all must starts. Clayton is forced into the flex (unless I start Matthews and Tolbert .) since Garcon is still having hamstring issues and Walter is hit or miss,I think someone asked this yesterday but it was never answered. I'm leaning towards Tolbert myself
10/6/2010 8:41:24 AM
I am being offered a trade I'm not so sure I wantI am supposed to give Andre Johnson and Bret Favre for Michael Vick and Louis Murphy.I need a QB, and I think I could stand to take the hit of losing AJ, but I don't like Louis Murphy. My backup QB would be Sam Bradford and my other WRs would be DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and Brandon Tate.
10/6/2010 8:42:40 AM
That's a terrible trade.
10/6/2010 8:50:21 AM
Also, 17 games for Moss this year
10/6/2010 9:16:20 AM
^^^that is a terrible tradeI was just thinking how Randy Moss isnt getting a bye week this year, Minnesota is coming off of their bye week last week, and the Pats bye week was supposed to be this week. Good news for fantasy owners I guesswell guess I shouldnt have taken that phone call before posting[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 9:18 AM. Reason : asdf]
10/6/2010 9:17:36 AM
Who should I pick up off waivers (#1 out of 14) this week? I have Witten at TE who hasn't done jack this season and I can pick up either Shiancoe or Scheffler. Torain and Michael Bush are also both available but I do already have Beanie Wells and Frank Gore at RB, but I will need a 3rd RB for upcoming bye weeks.
10/6/2010 9:48:22 AM
heres a great article/slideshow breaking down the impact the Randy Moss trade has to the members of the Vikings and Patriotshttp://www.rotoworld.com/premium/slideshows/?id=118&sport=NFL
10/6/2010 9:52:44 AM
Savvy owners pick up Brandon Tate right now.Everyone doesn't, but savvy owners do.That is all.- The Guru
10/6/2010 9:52:50 AM
Damn I have Moss on two of my teams. I'm thinking this reduces his value as the Vikings have a strong run game and old ass Favre who has sucked this year. Maybe this trade will motivate Moss to step up his game. What about Welker? Dude is going to be covered by the best corners now, Tate probably is a sneaky pickup.
10/6/2010 9:59:19 AM
I say it increases his valueThink about how Sidney Rice did last year, then realize Moss is twice the receiver Rice will ever beIt will be bombs bombs bombs away for Favre and him all year
10/6/2010 10:01:33 AM
^ Good point. Hopefully Favre will start playing better now too. I have him on one team as well and have been starting shitty ass Eli in place of him because of Favre's poor start. I think Aaron Hernandez could be a good pickup now at TE as he'll see more looks with Moss out of the picture.
10/6/2010 10:22:36 AM
Pick 2, please: WR Lance Moore @ ArizonaRB Mike Tolbert @ OaklandWR Dez Bryant vs. Tennessee
10/6/2010 10:27:47 AM
yeah Moss's value skyrockets, I think Harvin's value goes up as well as he wont have to be the #1 WR anymore and face the best CBs. He will fall back into the role that did him so well last season when Sidney Rice was around. Harvin's value might take a hit if/when Rice comes back, but until then, he should sit pretty. Bernard Berrian and to a lesser-degree Visanthe Shiancoe will lose their value. Berrian has been terrible all season as the #2 WR, its gonna fall even more as the #3 WR behind Moss and Harvin.on a different subject, pick my two RB this week. we get 1/2 point per receptionRay Rice vs. DenverCedric Benson vs. TBMichael Bush vs. SDRyan Torain vs. GBTim Hightower vs NOI have Benson and Bush penciled in right now. Denver shut down CJ2K last week, and Rice is still banged up. Rice and Benson COMBINED for 6 fucking points for me last week, that cant happen again. I could make a case for Torain as well, but GB's defense is pretty good. It's pretty much a toss-up between the top 4 RBs (excluding Hightower) for me^I'd go with Tolbert and Bryant. Lance Moore is too hit or miss for me - getting most of his points from deep throws, and I could see the Saints getting ahead by a lot early, so unless Moore gets his points early, he could put up a goose egg. He could also put up 120 yards on 2 catches with a couple TDs. Bryant will get more receptions, but might not get the yardage of Lance if he gets targets early.[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 10:52 AM. 10/6/2010 10:33:27 AM
Rice and BensonRice is going to break out sooner or later and Denver could very well be the team that suffers.
10/6/2010 10:57:52 AM
ugh, he just burned me so bad last week.Rice's line @ Pitts: 8 carries for 20 yards, 1 reception for 9 yards. 2.75 total pointsBenson's line @ Cle: 15 carries for 60 yards, no receptions. 4.50 total pointsMichael Bush vs. Houston: 7 carries for 40 yards, 1 rushing TD, 2 receptions for 16 yards. 10.50 total pointsRyan Torain @ Philly: 18 carries for 70 yards, 1 rushing TD, no receptions. 11.30 total points

I think its an alright trade. I think you're losing out by getting rid of DMC with the way he's playing so far, you probably couldve got a better WR. But, I think Percy Harvin's numbers are going to spike with Randy Moss in town. Moss will get all of the top CBs and double-teams, Harvin will go back to his role as a solid WR2. Harvin isnt the most polished WR in the league, so going against top-notch CBs hurt him a little bit, now he will match up against the 2nd CB every week and his numbers should go up because of it. Just think, this week he wouldve been matched up with Revis, now Moss will draw his attention and Harvin will get a beatable Cromartiewhich D/ST would you want this week;Dallas vs. TennCarolina vs. ChiSF vs. PhillyNYG @ HoustonATL @ Clealso, which QB would you pick going forward:Jay Cutler @ Car (on roster already)Carson Palmer vs. TB (on roster already)Brett Favre vs. NYJ (would have to trade for him, but I have Moss on my roster so that could be worth pursuing as the manager wants to trade Favre)Sam Bradford @ DetShaun Hill vs. StlKevin Kolb @ SF
10/6/2010 12:02:39 PM
I see StL/Det being a shootout, so I'd roll the dice on one of those QBs. I think ATL is probably the safe choice on defense too
10/6/2010 12:07:17 PM
What do yall think of the situation in San Diego with Tolbert and Mathews?Tolberts been better all year but Mathews has more upside and i feel like SD has to use him since he is their 1st rd choice?Cant decide which one i wanna start this week.
10/6/2010 12:18:22 PM
10/6/2010 12:18:38 PM
drop bush for him
10/6/2010 12:23:46 PM
man, the big question now for me is A. Hernandez worth losing my #2 spot on the waiver to pickup vs. waiting to see if he becomes FA on friday....My TE is Carlson and I picked up Watson for this week...so I need a TE...
10/6/2010 12:28:59 PM
you wouldnt lose your waiver if you just picked him up though, right? In my league, you only use waivers when someone is dropped then you want to add them. "Free Agents" (players who weren't on anyone's roster) don't require that.
10/6/2010 12:33:04 PM
it sounds to me that he isnt a FA yet (he will clear waivers and become a FA on friday according to his post)
10/6/2010 12:42:56 PM
waivers only come into play when you want to pick up the person immediately upon becoming FA... when the waivers go through if the player is still available, then you can pick the player up on FA without penalty (meaning you don't lose your waiver spot)so if you think the player is going to get picked up on waivers use it.if you think the player will still be available, wait til he's a FA^^my guess is someone dropped him, or some weird league rule[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 12:44 PM. Reason : .]
10/6/2010 12:43:28 PM
yeah, he was just dropped yesterday for Mercedes...I'm just trying to gauge how popular of a pickup he'll be now with Moss gone...it's a gamble to wait, but I do think he'll have lots of value going forward...
10/6/2010 12:45:31 PM
10/6/2010 1:22:37 PM
Kevin Walter, Mario Manningham, or Knowshon Moreno at my RB/WR?My QB situation: I know Orton is basically a must start at this point...but Flacco is going against Denver's weak secondary...does that change anything, or should I still go Orton?
10/6/2010 3:08:40 PM
Orton simply because it doesn't matter if Moreno plays or not. They won't be able to run the ball against Baltimore.I'd start Walter.[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 3:23 PM. Reason : .]
10/6/2010 3:22:55 PM
10/6/2010 3:52:47 PM
^^ Agree with both Orton and WalterPick 1:Hill, Gradkowski, FreemanPick 3:Turner, Mathews, J. Best, Torain, M. BushWho would you rather drop for Brandon Lloyd:M. Bush, M Lynch, J. Knox. D. BoweAlso, any opinions on M. Lynch's value at Seattle?[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 4:42 PM. Reason : .]
10/6/2010 4:32:27 PM
^I'd probably go with Freeman, Mathews, Best, Torain, and I'd probably drop Bush.I don't know about Lynch's value really...I picked him up in one of my leagues. He'll be Seattle's #1 but I don't know how well he'll perform. I would say, if you can pick him up without dropping someone too valuable for him, then go for it.
10/6/2010 7:01:19 PM
gd, the people my league are on the ball. picked up all the good players earlier in the day. I'm going to have to set my damn alarm clock on wednesdays
10/6/2010 9:13:13 PM
Which one of these WRs would you start:Kevin Walter, Mario Manningham, or Nate WashingtonAnd which one of these RBs would you start:Felix Jones, Timmy Hightower, Beanie WellsI'm leaning to Beanie...and no clue on WR
10/6/2010 9:32:36 PM
^Walter. Especially if Andre is still hurt.
10/6/2010 10:38:06 PM
Who should I start this week?Pick 2Reggie Wayne vs KCGreg Jennings vs WASRandy Moss vs NYJ
10/6/2010 10:42:05 PM
^^I was thinking about that and I kind of think Johnson's injury - if he's out this week - may not be that great for Walter. Walter may be one of those guys who is better as a #2 option, where less focus is on him by opposing defenses. That's my only concern with him. Which of these RBs, Beanie, Hightower, or Felix Jones
10/6/2010 11:10:40 PM
^^I don't know if Moss will be that great this week...may take him some time to adjust (new QB, new system...). No idea if I'm right about that or not, but it's just a thought.
10/6/2010 11:12:20 PM

10/6/2010 11:39:19 PM
10/6/2010 11:40:36 PM
Pick 2:Desean vs SFMoss vs NYJDriver vs WashFloyd vs OakWalters vs NYGRight now I am starting Desean and Moss on hopes of big games, but my gut is saying Desean and Floyd. Also should I start Eli vs Houston or Favre vs NYJ this weekend? I got Eli starting as that Jets D will probably shut down Favre.[Edited on October 7, 2010 at 8:43 AM. Reason : l]
10/7/2010 8:42:52 AM
I think Desean will continue to have problems with getting his normal deep passes with Kolb behind centeras far as Floyd goes, he will be matched up against Nnamdi Asomugha, who is just as bad a Revis. I think he will be shut down this weekwith that said, I would probably go with Desean and Driver. Its tough, I do think Moss will have a good game and will be the benefactor of Favre throwing some deep jump balls, but I am probably in the minority and Moss will have another stinker game.
10/7/2010 9:45:24 AM
so is it gonna be kolb? is vick definitely not gonna play? and what about cutler? I am going to pick my defense based on this...
