^they have training (every week I think) about the beer. So they should know a thing or two about the beer.

We were discussing how the bartenders know where each beer is on the wall.... There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Any insight?

the waitresses used to be much hotter. which is strange because now i'm older and creepier and they still don't look as good, which means they must have really fallen off.

^^it's not that hard- I mean, when I used to go 2-3 times a week, I would sit at the bar most of the time, and I got to know where the majority of the taps were (which is why, at the time, I learned that most of my preferred beers were at the far end of the bar, and thus decided where I sat )

IIRC, it's arranged by distributor. To make it easier for deliveries, keg swaps, and line cleaning they are bunched together by distributor's brands. Then a lot of the local, random singles, etc. are on the right end along with the ciders. At least that's the main method to the madness in Charlotte

I drank all NA beers last time I was there (friday for lunch)

the waitress gave me shit for it (as she should have)

got the IBC, Hauke Beck, and Buckler- buckler actually tasted alright, but the beck's just tasted wrong, and I reaffirmed that I don't like rootbeer.

^eh, I heard it wasn't that good. Also, Fullsteam doesn't really impress me as a brewery so I don't go out of my way to drink them.

^They don't impress me either, but they do cool events and have some cool one-time only stuff. Have some stuff from them when they've partnered up with MotorCo. I can't stay away from Fullsteam because I love MotorCo so much. I also had to get their Lost in the Trees brew and glass for the concert at MotorCo last year so... I guess they still get my patronage.

I thought the food was pretty good... especially compared to the menu.

and I like their beers; can't say they're may favorite, but I enjoy them.

I had a great time there actually... got smashed... got stupid... got cut-off

Went for Pint Night, there was about 5 times the amount of students than normal. Basically standing room only. And tons of people were just sitting and talking--not all that much drinking.

Was pretty annoyed.

It's standing room only a lot of regular nights, too. Not really a surprise there, especially with the first pint night with school back in session...

Okay maybe I should have been more clear.

It was barely-breathing-room-only and it was a flood of bright pink polos/dress shirts and backwards baseball caps, and there wasn't a single non-student there it seemed like, except a couple we sat with.

Just wasn't a very enjoyable atmosphere. Not saying it was crazy unexpected, but still

So, Wednesdays with glasses that are really sought after, how early do you have to go? I've never gone early and gotten a ticket (that's what they do right?), what time does that start? Basically I'm asking how that works, because I want an Octoberfest stein.

go at 5, get a ticket, come back at 7 and hand it in. don't come back later or they could be out even if you do have a ticket.
