1/11/2010 3:41:03 PM
i don't think it's just "far-left loons" that dislike Palin
1/11/2010 3:52:36 PM

I imagine she will abruptly quit after about a year [Edited on January 11, 2010 at 4:25 PM. Reason : 8]

It will be fun watching some lefties head explode when they hear about palin from the huff.^haha, exactly what I first thought Terd. That killed any chance she had at office, imo.
1/11/2010 4:31:14 PM
I watched Special Report with Bret Baier today and... wow... I actually have to say there was some good honest discussion going on.Of course it helped that 2 out of the 3 contributors were none other than Maura Liasson and Juan Williams from National Public Radio...but keep it up, Bret.

This is the shit that tears me up about the current controlling regime of the GOP. Sarah Palin espouses nothing more than garden variety conservative talking points. And she doesn't do what I'd label a stellar job of it. She's a pretty face. She's also probably the reason the wheels fell off the McCain campaign bus. Why does she still get a voice? It isn't because she is saying anything new or even in a way that gets us moderates to swing back to the right. It's to the point now where I wonder if some powerful Wall Street interests (read GE, GS, etc) are pushing her and this type of politics because they know it will continue to fail time and time again with those of us sitting in the middle, thus pushing elections to the left who are apparently more sympathetic to Wall Street interests than we could have ever imagined.

Rupert Murdoch said once that if it was proven to be more popular, he would totally make Fox News a liberal news channel overnight.
1/11/2010 7:13:38 PM
Find a niche/need and fill it. Fox news is so successful because it's the only one of its kind.
1/11/2010 7:16:14 PM
^^ See MSNBC, Air America, and so on for results.

^^^ rational, well thought-out opinions don’t make for good television… unless done in a comical way[Edited on January 11, 2010 at 7:31 PM. Reason : ]
1/11/2010 7:30:58 PM
^ Rubbish.
1/11/2010 7:45:21 PM
Why else does PBS news have such low ratings? or NPR even? Why aren’t there more prime-time shows like Meet the Press (under Russert)?Fox is appealing because of their boisterous style and attention-deficit friendly graphics.
1/11/2010 8:03:18 PM
Indeed, there is no more riveting TV than meet the press. That's also why things like Crossfire and the McGlaughlin group are/were a ratings bonanza.
1/11/2010 8:12:20 PM
Most people don't want intellectual debate. They want HOT GOSSIP.
1/11/2010 8:22:52 PM
exactly, even on Fox brit hume was one of the lesser rated showsthe crazier, and more outspoken the host, the higher the ratings

I wish Palin would go away. I dont understand the obsession with her. I really hope that she doesnt run.

i imagine she'll be able to say what she wants. Fox clearly doesn't care about making sure all their pundits are truthful or accurate. And the more outrageous she is, the more viewers she'll pull in
1/12/2010 10:08:03 AM
if that's the case, then john stewart will be a happy happy man.

1/12/2010 12:07:44 PM
Probably a lot of people are. And there's a good chance all of the past Presidents were genuinely religious.I'm just saying there are probably a lot more Atheists in Congress than we think.
