THE NBC ANNOUNCERS ARE THE OLN ANNOUNCERS
6/11/2006 2:02:45 AM
ahhahahahahhaha
6/11/2006 2:08:53 AM
6/11/2006 8:43:25 AM
really?musta been the graphics or something...or the camera work...sometihng was different...don't know what it was...maybe the canes lethargic play was affecting me too
6/11/2006 8:49:41 AM
I will say that OLN's HD feed seemed better than NBC, which is odd. I wish NBC had put a camera in the RBC Center like OLN did with Rexall.
6/11/2006 9:57:20 AM
NBC'S HD CHANNEL AUDIO ON TIME WARNER CABLE IN RALEIGH NC ZIP CODE 27605 IS THE WORST OF ANY HD CHANNEL UNLESS MY HARMON KARDON RECIEVER IS TO BLAMEHIGHLY POSSIBLE20 MINUTE INTERVALS, AUDIO CRACKLES OR COMPLETLY GOES OUTNEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER HD CHANNEL
6/11/2006 10:11:52 AM
6/11/2006 11:17:24 AM
Erm, the puck wasn't on the ice.
6/11/2006 11:25:39 AM
6/11/2006 12:47:23 PM
why'd the Fire Laviolette thread get locked? it wasn't serious, just something to have fun with.
6/11/2006 12:52:48 PM
I'm not sure who called who an ignorent southerner (surely wasn't me) but the play was reviewed. You guys can bitch about the refs making questionable calls. But review are made by the higher ups who I'm sure have a lot more integrity than to call something just to make a good series....
6/11/2006 1:14:08 PM
yeah alot more integrity to make sure the series goes deeper than 4 games so they make $$$$$
6/11/2006 1:31:15 PM
the only thing you can argue about that goal is maybe interference and thats not conclusive because of the presence of the carolina defender pushing symth into the net
6/11/2006 1:39:28 PM
6/11/2006 1:53:17 PM
6/11/2006 2:46:44 PM
the officials were bad, not biased
6/11/2006 2:49:17 PM
The problem (which I thought was glaring) and noticed it immediately in the NBC HD broadcast vs the OLN HD (INHD) is definitely the camera zoom.If you notice NBC keeps swinging the camera in and out of zoom and it's so much harder to follow the puck when its shifting across the blue line. If it stays in a zone near the goal long enough the camera will zoom in and you dont notice, but any shift and it swings out.Looks terrible and way too herky jerky.

6/11/2006 2:57:26 PM
just my opinion..but the canes got just plain beat....they were getting beat to most of the loose pucks and they lost a lot of face-offs...Peca owned us on the dots and the physical play seemed like it took the canes of thier game a little.....but they'll pick it back up tomorrow i'm sure
6/11/2006 3:11:04 PM
I agree the canes did just get beat and they have won games while playing worse but they didnt play as well as they should. I also agree that nbc in HD sucks.
6/11/2006 3:38:56 PM
FINALLY!!! Some fans who can just admit the Canes had a bad game and not blame everything on officiating
6/11/2006 5:16:30 PM
we need some fans like this
6/11/2006 6:04:04 PM
i agree, the canes just got outplayedwe couldn't carry it into their zone worth a damnthe oilers clogged the passing lanes wellthe oilers know the canes would rather pass than shootfrankie's the only one who will shoot in a circumstance that's not the most beautiful setup ever
6/11/2006 6:19:34 PM
haha without reading the past 5 pages or so, let me guess....everyone has been flaming about how that shouldn't have been a goal, and how the nhl is conspiring against carolina right?lol, yea right, it was a legit goal, they reviewed it for about 5 minutes, get over it and get ready for game 4just read this, and at least a few people can admit it
6/11/2006 7:26:51 PM
Very true. Commie and Wesley in particular don't seem to throw it to the front of the net enough. Edmonton won last night by scoring two "ugly" goals. We need to do the same in Gm 4. Let's just throw 'em to the front of the net and hammer away at the rebounds.
6/11/2006 7:27:58 PM
6/11/2006 7:59:33 PM
the canes will score at least 4 goals tomorrow
6/11/2006 8:09:23 PM
You're halfway there. That's right. Eight goals.
6/11/2006 8:10:44 PM
no, thats not going to happen. we'll win, but it wont be a blow out
6/11/2006 8:29:20 PM
T - 23 hrsa tradition that keeps this club winning
6/11/2006 8:51:01 PM
T - 22 hours^ agreed.
6/11/2006 10:08:53 PM
The GWG last night was reviewed because it appeared that Smyth might've kicked the puck. Goaltender interference is not reviewable or overturnable.
6/11/2006 10:36:21 PM
^yea, i mean i thought that as soon as I saw the replay, but it looked incidental to me, more like he moved his foot to avoid busting his ass and running into cam instead of to kick the puck
6/11/2006 10:52:27 PM
T - 19 hourscome on 'canes, steal a road game, woot
6/12/2006 12:57:01 AM

6/12/2006 8:33:59 AM
^I don't think it's a penalty to be in the crease before the puck, i believe that rule was changed after game 6 of the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals lol

Looks like they aren't posting the NHL Live link again, so here it is http://www2.nhl.com/radio/nhllive/nhllive03.asx
6/12/2006 9:57:29 AM
^^^^ The crease rule was never a penalty in the first place, and an interference call is unreviewable. On top of that, the crease rule was indeed abolished a number of years ago. You're right when you say that officials protect goaltenders, but it's for good reason. Goaltenders where no protection against bodily contact, particularly on the head. The goal mask is made to protect against pucks, but it's actually very poor at protecting against large masses. On top of that, there is literally no padding on the back of the goaltender aside from a light spine plate and elbow caps, and goaltenders are often sitting ducks for injury, as seen by the relatively benign-looking hits that led to knee injuries in Roloson and Garth Snow.
6/12/2006 10:20:47 AM
the crease rule was never abolished...just adjusted...the rule is "no harm, no foul"
6/12/2006 10:29:44 AM
Apparently Big Joe is supposed to play tonight, and Staal didn't skate this morning .
6/12/2006 11:10:39 AM
6/12/2006 11:13:53 AM
^I was just answering a question and stating when the rule was changed, i never mentioned why it was changed, so why don't you shut the fuck up
6/12/2006 11:55:46 AM
hey how come there are no fights?is it just because it's the stanley cup and people are behaving themselves or what? [/noob question]
6/12/2006 12:12:26 PM
Uh... you don't want to run the risk of getting suspended/thrown out in the biggest series of the year?
6/12/2006 12:18:17 PM
I don't mind Staal getting pulled a bit. He's played like utter crap for the past 4 games.
