Just when I thought we might be the ACC favorites next year things start falling apart. We need some positive news to reverse the trend.
4/17/2012 8:47:06 PM
hater. we don't know how good harris will be as the seasons go on, we barely even got to see him this year. he may turn out to be much better than cjw. and if he develops like cjw, i'll be happy. we're not getting to the point where all of our players are top50 recruits anytime soon. we need role players who are going to stick around for several years to compliment the all-americans.
4/17/2012 8:49:34 PM
ha i kind of forgot that harris has not, thus far, decided to transfer.
4/17/2012 8:53:15 PM
^^i agree w/ everything you said, even the first word.my argument was against ncwolfsu trying to decide whether he classifies harris as an early entrant candidate.

Maybe the whole UK starting 5 declaring turns out to be good.Sure, Amile can go there and play immediately, but who knows how UK will mesh and play next year. They could be #1 again or have a couple divas and end up floundering in the end. Whereas, at NC State, he will still play big minutes and will play with a team that has a majority of their contributors back from a Sweet 16 run.
4/17/2012 10:35:02 PM
I dont think Amile will start at UK. They're going to pair cauley and Noel at pf and c
4/17/2012 10:36:44 PM
They also have the highly recruited kyle wiltjer coming back who plays PF
4/17/2012 10:58:41 PM
I thought he played Token White Guy Who Shoots Some Threes...
4/18/2012 12:02:52 AM
Dude, he also raps. Give him some credit.
4/18/2012 12:16:14 AM
4/18/2012 3:57:46 AM
Well one thing's for sure. When he played he was really bad.So hopefully he won't be really bad next season.I think he's got potential too because of his frame and skill set. That didn't translate to success last year though obviously.By his senior year he'll almost certainly be a solid contributor if not a very good player. But he might still be a net negative next year, hard to say.
4/18/2012 4:27:30 AM
so ... did he change his mind ? im confused
4/18/2012 9:21:41 AM
CJW began his freshman year starting games right away. I remember being surprised at the time, but looking back he was competing against juniors Degand, Horner, and Ferguson. But I thought CJW had a pretty decent freshman season, considering his lack of hype coming in. He proved to be a good outside shooter and drove the lane well, finishing with the left hand.He seemed to fall off some his soph and junior seasons, partly due to being out of shape and partly due to other guys stepping up & the 2010 freshmen coming in.
4/18/2012 10:05:27 AM
^^did who change their mind about what? Harris hasn't requested a transfer. There's just a rumor floating that he might, depending on what shakes out.
4/18/2012 10:20:22 AM
CJW only started 8 games his freshman season, most of those were early and he wasn't producing at all.
4/18/2012 10:20:44 AM
I would say the days great news makes it less likely Amile chooses State so with our few 'ships on the table who is still out there? Have we reached out to Gill? Is the Damontre Harris situation fluid?
4/18/2012 12:37:30 PM
hood update?
4/18/2012 12:39:41 PM
^ Duke is after him really hard with the Gbinije transfer and Shabazz to UCLA.One recent article here: http://www.thebuckeyebattlecry.com/2012/04/forget-shabazz-muhammad-rodney-hood-is-the-one-everyone-wants/He mentioned that Duke is his dream school, but you never know...
4/18/2012 1:16:20 PM
Lol at the link title. Hood is good and would fit in well at Duke but that title makes it seem like Buckeye fans would rather have Hood!
4/18/2012 1:29:19 PM
What an astute observation!
4/18/2012 1:36:50 PM
stupid reporter just asked CJ Leslie to make a pitch for Amile, during his press conference. what a moron.
4/18/2012 2:10:01 PM
^^^ Agreed. Horribly stupid title. "We weren't considered, so who needs Shabazz anyway!?!" was more appropriate.
4/18/2012 2:21:07 PM
i know this should be taken with a grain of salt because it's far from the first time this type of thing has been mentioned...but evan daniels (recruiting guy on scout) and james henderson have both posted saying they've heard amile is planning, as of now, to announce friday. but they both say that could change.
4/18/2012 6:31:27 PM
4/18/2012 6:37:11 PM
While looking to see what recruits have yet to commit, I discovered that you have to go back to before 2005 to find the last time duke or unc didn't sign a top10 recruit. Scout didn't keep records before then.I also discovered that Arizona's 2012 class has three Top10 commits that are 6'8"-7'.
4/18/2012 9:27:01 PM
RSCI has "winners" every year and Duke in 2009 had Kelly (#14) and Mason (#18) in that class. Not Scout but it averages the best recruiting sites. Duke in 2008 wasn't in the top ten. I think Scout is guilty of upping the ranking of those who commit to a Duke or UNC at times so i like this site.Leslie's class was 5th two years ago with CJ as #12 the highest.
4/19/2012 8:03:37 AM
Joe Giglio says Amile Jefferson will announce tomorrow between N.C State and the Dookies.we'll see.
4/19/2012 8:56:30 AM
Time?
4/19/2012 9:01:22 AM
4/19/2012 9:02:55 AM
I guess there are 2 scenarios here....1. Amile wants to play WITH CJ and make a run at a championshipor 2. Amile wants maximum playing time and goes to DukeHere's to hoping he's wanting #1...I think he would get (at max) only 5 min more a game w/ Duke w/ less chance of winningI think playing w/ CJ would actually help Amile improve...they are a lot alike but Amile seems to have better jumper. CJ can teach him alot [Edited on April 19, 2012 at 9:10 AM. Reason : asdf]
4/19/2012 9:09:51 AM
4/19/2012 9:17:31 AM
There is a third scenario. He chooses state because he likes the chick fil a at the atrium
4/19/2012 9:22:01 AM
or maybe he decides he wants to play in the nba and goes to kentucky
4/19/2012 9:23:01 AM
https://twitter.com/#!/PackPride/status/192954854015107073Packpride's saying we're not in running for Jefferson anymore. Don't know how accurate that is, but if it's true I'm ok with it. I'd rather have one year or guaranteed CJL dominance than hope a recruit turns into something. That being said, let's take the high road here and not bash Amile for making whatever decision he feels is best for him. From all accounts he's a good kid. We've got a good team either way. Still hope Packpride's wrong because getting Amile would help set our program up for a continued presence on the national scene beyond 2013.
4/19/2012 10:06:05 AM
well fuck. hes making a big mistake, but honestly we need big men a lot more than we need him. He wouldve been a luxury for sure, but im more concerned that we land post players.
4/19/2012 10:09:03 AM
so, that's not what that says.
4/19/2012 10:09:57 AM
I don't think twitter works like you think it works. Someone is saying that, but it's not Pack Pride...
4/19/2012 10:10:16 AM
4/19/2012 10:10:43 AM
It's difficult to read that twitter status as Pack Pride endorsing what that individual is reporting. More of a mocking type of tweet, in my opinion.
4/19/2012 10:10:58 AM
^^^^^^That is definitely not what he's saying.James has gone on record saying how much he hates Twitter for that reason you specifically cited.]
4/19/2012 10:11:18 AM
That's a retweet from cmoore61, a UNC student and Daily Tar Heel writer. They are making fun of it.
4/19/2012 10:13:10 AM
attn users with < 100 posts...attn users who don't understand twitter
4/19/2012 10:16:01 AM
I definitely skipped over the "Twitter is awesome" part of the tweet [Edited on April 19, 2012 at 10:17 AM. Reason : then clicked on the original guy and was all ]
4/19/2012 10:17:28 AM
Well, now that its on record...
4/19/2012 10:22:26 AM
I get all my recruiting news from the Asst. Sports Editor of The Daily Tarheel
