on or offseason, NC State Shit never takes a day off
6/24/2012 6:10:23 PM
it took a while off when our first year coach took a team that went 15-16 the previous year to the sweet sixteen.don't you think?
6/24/2012 6:17:43 PM
I'm pretty sure players on other teams have injuries too.If injuries are going to occur, better now than during or closer to the season, hopefully it's our only one.Lewis will have to step-up in practice, and this may result in him being better prepared to back-up zo during the season.
6/24/2012 6:25:16 PM
Did Vandy official get a redshirt year or when does the decision about that take place?
6/24/2012 6:38:45 PM
i didn't realize that was ever in question.
6/24/2012 6:45:07 PM
^^yes he did, he'll be a rs jr
6/24/2012 7:05:53 PM
gott just posted a pic of Zo standing on the sidelines of his camp w/out a knee brace, and i saw hardly any pixels#hoax?
6/24/2012 8:00:17 PM
Well, surgery isn't until Tuesday. So, he probably doesn't need a brace until after...
6/24/2012 8:16:17 PM
The entire team is listed as questionable

6/25/2012 3:04:07 PM
I think Vandy will surprise some people this yearMark it
6/25/2012 4:33:03 PM
You heard it here, first. Vandy will surprise. Oh goddamnit.
6/25/2012 4:33:52 PM
It won't surprise me message_topic.aspx?topic=590384&page=4
6/25/2012 4:40:08 PM
think Vandy will fit in pretty well at the 2. Seems to be the right position for him.
6/25/2012 9:04:43 PM
it's certainly possible that TBDV has a good season... but to my knowledge we haven't seen anything out of him that indicates that he will.he did dunk the ball like six times last season though.
6/25/2012 9:07:14 PM
He even alley-ooped it, quite dandily, to be exact.
6/26/2012 12:53:28 AM
I was being sarcastic. For the record.
6/26/2012 12:58:00 AM
Vandenburg could be productive the next two years. He's never going to be All-ACC obviously, but he's already shown he can dunk and block/contest shots. The main thing he needs to prove is that he can rebound/defend and limit his turnovers/fouls.I think the #1 thing he needs to improve is his agility along with athleticisim and strength. If he was a little more mobile he could be a good rebounder as 7'1 is huge in today's college game. His range as a rebounder was very limited because he simply didn't move well enough. He had some productive minutes at the end of his sophomore year and it's certainly possible he's improved quite a bit since then. He's definitely a wild card, and if he makes the leap to a productive big man we'd be a scary team next season. His improvement will be especially critical though for his senior year (if he returns) as we're obviously going to be depleted on the front line after next year.

6/26/2012 4:38:40 AM
^so, what face said
6/26/2012 5:36:01 AM
I don't ever want to be on record as completely agreeing with face. That's a no-win situation.
6/26/2012 5:46:19 AM
he can get up and down the floor fine, but he can't move laterally. That's a problem defensively and for rebounding. The fact that's he's 7'1 and a poor rebounder should tell you something. His leg strength was terrible his freshman year, he had no base and no lift. His sophomore year it was much improved. As for not being able to improve your athleticism, that's essentially what weightlifting, flexibility, etc are so that isn't true. You can run faster, jump higher, stretch farther. You peak at some point obviously, but look at CJ Leslie for example. He was obviously significantly more athletic this year as evidenced by the dunks he was throwing down in traffic last year. His freshman year he could barely get to the basket, let alone dunk in a game. If you can't get more athletic, why do people even bother working out?
6/26/2012 6:45:15 AM
this dude is 7'1" and can do a between the legs dunk/talk about him not being athletic enoughalso he is going to have a great year, his left hand hook looks amazing
6/26/2012 8:15:23 AM
@WRALSportsFan: Update on Brown: expected to miss 2-4 weeks, not 4-6.

6/26/2012 6:22:43 PM
Hell yeah. I was really worried about going 0-for in september without his services.UNDEFEATED SEPTEMBER HERE WE COME
6/26/2012 6:23:24 PM
Holy shit we are playing in September????
6/26/2012 6:51:54 PM
torn meniscus is definitely good news relative to what it could have been but it can still have some lingering effects like swelling, pain, and slight loss of agility. My bigger concern would be if it effects him mentally or if it makes him think harder about going pro after this season. It's definitely fortunate that we have Tyler Lewis and Rodney Purvis to ease some of the ballhandling responsibilities for Zobo this year. I'd be scared to go into the season with only one ballhandler who is coming off knee surgery.
6/26/2012 6:57:31 PM
Minor setback. Having injured my meniscus he should be full strength within 2 months. I was initially concerned this would be microfracture surgery.
6/26/2012 7:02:08 PM
^^ It's not fucking Zobo. Or Lobo...or anything other retarted nick name YOU PEOPLE can come up with it.His arms have tattoos that match up to "Zo". That's it...no more.
6/27/2012 11:28:57 AM
but he has B O tattooed on his balls.
6/27/2012 11:30:19 AM
How do you know that?
