no kidding. Just like my DD has got to be the most meticulously cared for Honda Insight with >250k miles on Earth, your Porsche has got to be the least cosmetically cared for GT3 on Earth.

Abuse is harsh. I'd say neglect. Abuse would be purposefully throwing salt on it.

Yes. Do you not take pride in your lawn? You've got a high-class, educated, beautiful, neck-breakin' lady on your hands and she's walking around town in a wife beater and pajamas [Edited on October 4, 2019 at 8:48 AM. Reason : ]

Yeah, car came with full ppf. And no, I don't take pride in my damn grass. I tore it all out and put in artificial grass so I'd never have to waste my time on it again

Congratulations on your new station wagon
10/29/2019 3:18:33 PM
^^She loves it. The previous one was a 6 speed and no turbo. This one she can drive and is a super smooth ride. It's the Touring XT so it's got the ventilated leather seats and huge infotainment screen. ^Thanks! Second one. Best format out there.

^^Tks they had a 19' with a 2" lift at the dealer. I need to ask them who did it. Yeah it's much zippier than the 3.6. The turbo helps at elevation and I can finally pass people going up hill.
10/30/2019 2:49:38 PM
2.4 liter turbo flat 4 right? 260ish hp? But only CVT transmission IIRC
10/31/2019 10:23:10 AM
Yeah 260hp, 277 torque. I was very skeptical of the CVT because my girlfriend has a 2014 Impreza Sport CVT and it's so so. They actually software tuned it to mimic an 8 speed transmission and it's actually pretty nice. They feel like real gears. I'd give it a test drive.

991.2 GT3(RS)991 turbo Shuracan 580-2458gt4 + big motor modslooking for something a bit more modern than my current gt3 so I can enjoy it more. I'd also like something that's a bit more entertaining at less than 8/10. on the limit, I doubt there's much short of a viper ACR that's more thrilling, but on the street it's below average in most places. I think my next "hardcore" purchase won't be street legal. I stopped riding on the street for the same reasons and haven't looked back. anyone owned or spent time behind the wheel on these? trying to find them on turo or one of these track experience groupons for extended test drives
2/6/2020 4:34:28 PM
Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way, but all those cars have far superior performance to your current GT3. I feel like that would make all of them feel less exciting on public roads, since even less of their capabilities are being used. That said I would avoid the turbocharged cars on the list. A big part of my street driving entertainment is listening to the symphony of a highly tuned NA engine. Huracan or 458 is probably what you'd want in that case, with the Huracan being the more reliable choice.I think, however, that a GT4 + mods would be the most entertaining one to drive on the street. Unfortunately, it has tall gearing that makes it harder to to enjoy those revs at legal limits.
2/7/2020 8:47:57 AM
it's not so much that you're missing out on the car's performance, that's a given in damn near any car. the problem is, the gt3 is gutless under 5500ish and it's very difficult to keep the revs that high in street driving. I also have to do stuff like ride the brakes to put heat into them so they'll stop at street speeds. the stereo is worse than cheap earbuds. I literally put a BT speaker in the back that sounds better, which is kinda handy for the track. I'm planning to join the local track club which gives me 180 days of track access a year, but it's about an hour 1 way each way, so something that's less painful to haul up to the track is pretty nice. as far as noise, I'm not sure this is any worse than my car now, which has the least noise deadening of anything in the last 20 years. i agree, the gt3rs, 458, and huracan sound the best of the group, but if I was buying for exhaust, I'd be in a mustang or camarovsthe turbo s is the "on paper" leader for being the best at the most things and is also the fastest believe it or not. the city i live in is about 2-3x the population density of ITB raleigh, so compromises have to be made unfortunately, including giving up my tow rig.
2/7/2020 12:20:53 PM
Guess you have the PCCBs on your GT3? And in the car's defense it's supposed to be a track car for the street, so definitely sacrifices to be made.I've heard the Turbo is so non-eventfully fast that it takes a lot of fun out of driving it.
2/7/2020 12:26:46 PM
I haven’t driven any of those, but i do have a few laps back to back in a 991.1 GT3 and a 488. The 488 was faster, but I enjoyed the GT3 more. I wasn’t alone; basically all the instructors confessed to the same sentiment, although they sell a lot of rides in the Italian cars for the wow factor.I think a GT3 or GT3 RS would be the ticket for me.
2/7/2020 3:04:34 PM
the plan is do some test drives this weekend then whichever ones I like the best I'll pay to try them at some of those track experiences. honestly I'd really like to play with the new NSX. I'd love to try and hotrod the electric part with bigger batteries and different programming, but there's so few, there isn't really a community around doing it and I think I'd be building a lot of bespoke sparts
2/7/2020 4:54:50 PM
Definitely depends on what your primary use is for the car. Is the GT3 replacement going to spend less time on track?
2/10/2020 8:19:56 AM
that's the hope. right now, I have to drive to tracks and outside road atlanta, the trek to the track is longer than I want to spend in the current gt3. even road atlanta is pushing it. the goal is to find something more pleasant to drive on the street so that I can enjoy driving besides just at the track but also to get to the track more because I don't dread the actual commute.
2/10/2020 11:44:17 AM
Sounds like you need to buy a 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup, a trailer, and some slicks.Hell you can rent the car hauler trailer for cheap.
2/10/2020 2:59:07 PM
I've had those. It's not worth the trouble of going to get all that shit, especially when you can hit the track every other day. Maybe if I could store those on my property, but that's another 50+k I'm not spending on my house right now.
2/10/2020 10:49:38 PM
If you're hitting the track every other day, that would mean you're going to Road Atlanta (which I'm guessing isn't too far away), doesn't seem too bad?If you're going to Barber or Roebling or Sebring or Homestead, on the other hand, hehe.
2/11/2020 8:33:05 AM
not RA. it's a private track, basically a country club type setup. if it was road atlanta, i'd buy a damn radical
2/11/2020 4:17:00 PM
^^^ dude, go buy a $5000 pickup truck and a $2000 trailer, and a Radical or a Formula whatever or an Ariel Atom, or go even more berserk with your GT3.[Edited on February 12, 2020 at 12:28 AM. Reason : keep that shit behind your house somewhere. no need for a garage for a beater truck][Edited on February 12, 2020 at 12:29 AM. Reason : nowhere to keep it out of sight to keep a bullshit HOA off your back?]
2/12/2020 12:28:37 AM
yes, nowhere to keep it out of sight. I'd have to clear out the woods to do something like that and cutting down trees here is an act of congress. you guys are missing the point though. I want something I can enjoy not just at the track. the current car is plenty for track use and I love it there, but everywhere else sucks, to the point of not wanting to drive it to tracks all over. getting an even bigger piece of shit to haul around more shit is NOT the answer.
2/13/2020 1:35:52 PM
test drove the gt3rs and it's quite theatrical. it feels like its on its toes at all times. I thought the decision was easy. I then drove a turbo S for due diligence, and its quite a different car, but somehow just as compelling. It's faster but almost nonchalantly. It's a far easier car to deal with and to me feels special, but in a different way. The gt3rs feels like working harder, the turbo feels like working smarter. They both sound good, but I'm not sure I can live without the sound of the RS. I think I'll try one of the track experiences for them both to see which I like more
2/26/2020 8:22:01 PM
I prefer the sound of NA engines, especially high rpm screamers, so I think it'd be an easy decision for me.Also keep in mind, that regardless of how much mileage you'd pile onto a GT3 RS, it will still be worth significantly more than a Turbo when you get around to selling it.
2/27/2020 9:47:56 AM
ehhh, on older far more limited RSes I'd agree, but not on the new ones. right now the RS had a 184 sticker and its right around 140 after 4 years while the turbo S was 203 sticker and its right around 115 after 6 years. It's surprisingly close, I guess because of the 'S' instead of just regular turbo
2/27/2020 5:50:59 PM
If I wanted the end-all GT, I'd get a Turbo S.If I wanted the end-all streetable track day toy that didn't come with British or Italian ownership asspain, it would be a GT3 RS.
