The NFL as a whole is pretty unpredictable at this point. I feel like every star is capable of shitting the bed and every scrub is capable of of monster points. There are no real 'must start every week' type players this year unlike years past.
10/5/2010 10:45:53 AM
Bullshit. There are still 25-30 guys that you're going to start every week, matchups be damnedRodgersBreesPeytonBrady RiversSchaubFosterRiceTurnerGorePetersonJohnsonJacksonMendenhallMJDJohnsonWayneMossAustinMarshallGatesClarkFinelyand I'm probably forgetting ten other guys
10/5/2010 10:50:37 AM
Would you take this trade?I get Ryan Matthews and Mario ManninghamHe gets Ronnie Brown and Greg JenningsI think that's a good trade don't you?
10/5/2010 10:53:58 AM
You're giving up two rock solid starters for a guy that appears to be in a timeshare with Toblert and Sproles and another guy who will be fighting for targets with Nicks and Smith all seasonDo not click accept
10/5/2010 10:55:51 AM
Greg Jennings is not getting targets (although he gets garbage TDs)Ryan Matthews was hurt and Tolbert came in, Sproles isnt even a factor in their offense and:

^Nah don't do it.Can you provide the link for the Turner article? Are his carries going to increase as the season goes on or what?

^^^I do not like that trade either... both backs are split carry backs, but ronnie is the head architect of the wildcat, and Tolbert is the goalline guy in SD, so I think you'd be giving up a better guy for a lesser guy. And while Jennings isn't a clear #1 receiver (nor is Manningham), he has a better qb throwing to him and will get him more looks than manningham IMOI think that trade is a slight downgrade in both positions for you, so unless that extremely helps you in bye-week troubles, then I wouldn't even consider it (and I didn't bother to check byeweek stuff on that btw)[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 11:28 AM. i need to pick up a RB that will do something.. probably won't start but a game or two with byes, but i'd like to have a decent backup just in case. I have Cadillac on the bench, but it looks like he's going to split carries more.highest rated available:Michael BushSprolesSnellingFred JacksonMcCluster..Woodhead isn't rated that high but if he keeps getting carries and catches, he looked good last night..or just wait for injuries and hope i'm the closest to the computer[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 11:37 AM. Reason : slaton and buckhalter are out there too]
10/5/2010 11:33:25 AM
BushMcFadden probably out next week
10/5/2010 11:39:10 AM
My problem is that I have Ray Rice, Mendenhall, Brown, Green Ellis, and Hightower as my RBs.
10/5/2010 11:44:28 AM
^^what he said... McFadden says he feels good, and that this hammy thing isn't as bad as the one he had in the preseason, but I think at the very least, he'll take it easy this weekI also find it hard to believe that Woodhead will keep up his production, but hey... NE has found stars out of nothing before. Also, Turner will continue to only get 1/2 of the carries (at best) so snelling might not be a terrible option- just look at matchups when you have the bye weeks that you would play these guys^rice has been a little disappointing, but he will come into his own. And Brown and Ellis are decent enough. I just don't like the situation in SD right now. I decided to keep Tolbert over picking up Matthews just because of the goal line carry stuff[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 11:47 AM. Reason : e]

Would you accept this trade?Peyton Hillis, Cle RBFORMatt Forte, Chi RBSteve Smith, Car WRI'm leaning towards no, considering how poorly Forte & Smith have played the last 2 weeks and Hillis is averaging 15pts/week and hasn't dropped below 10 points. My other RB's are:Steven Jackson Ryan MatthewsJohn KuhnKnowshon Moreno (Questionable)[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 11:59 AM. 10/5/2010 11:56:26 AM
lol, if you asked me that at the beginning of the year, i woulda told you to put down the pipe...but Hillis is still consistently performing (for the browns no less... whodathunkit?)Forte, short of week one, has been pretty disappointingand steve smith- well a)he is hurt with a high ankle sprain (out for a couple of weeks), and b) he just can't seem to get it together with clausen- I think he hates the kidtake from that what you will...
10/5/2010 11:59:45 AM
Dolphins are on a bye this week, so Brandon Marshall's spot is open...So, who would be your pick out of these guys:So here are my WRs...which 3 would you pick (1 for the RB/WR because Portis is probably not going to play next week). Calvin Johnson (lock to start), Kevin Walter, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, Dez Bryant, Devery Henderson...I'm thinking Johnson, Nicks, and Walter. Or I could pick up a RB for the RB/WR spot. Snelling is available and so is Ryan Torain (maybe a good pick up since Portis is apparently out). Would either of those guys be worth picking up?Also, in my other league would you put Beanie, Hightower, or Felix Jones at RB...I would think Beanie, but neither he nor Hightower did much on Sunday[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 12:10 PM. 10/5/2010 12:00:27 PM
I can't trust the Arizona running backsI'm actually contemplating dropping Wells for Torain... I'm also thinking about maybe picking up Lynch (who is available in alot of leagues) due to the talk of him possibly going to philly
10/5/2010 12:33:07 PM
Ok who is the best pickup for this week with McCoy and McFadden outJacobs, Torian or Mike Bell?
10/5/2010 1:33:03 PM
Who is worth starting for my fantasy team? Mathews or Tolbert? Tolberts been better this year but Matthews has more upside. I have both but I dont know which one to start.
10/5/2010 1:34:35 PM
^^Torian looked pretty darn good this week and could do real well getting all the carries.
10/5/2010 1:38:46 PM
The McCoy/Bell situation hasn't even been confirmed yet. We don't know McCoy is out, we don't know if Bell will be the backup. Who knows?I'd go Torian too.

question, who would you rather have going forward for the rest of the season? Keep in mind my other RBs are Frank Gore, Arian Foster and Pierre Thomasnon-ppr leagueMatt Forte (he is on my current roster and would be the player I drop in favor of...)Michael BushRyan TorainMarion BarberMike TolbertJonathan StewartMike Bell
10/5/2010 3:18:04 PM
How many teams are in the league where one could reasonably consider dropping Forte?
10/5/2010 3:25:39 PM
so is Fred Jackson now the #1 in Buffalo? not that that means shit, because the Bills suck somethin fierce, but if there's a legit #1 out there then it might be worth a pick up
10/5/2010 3:30:20 PM
there are 8 teamsthe question was, who would you rather have for the rest of the season. I'll take your answer as a vote for Forte. He has 134 rushing (0 TDs) and 209 receiving yards (3 TDs)I have the same situation in another (10-team) league, except I have Shonn Greene that I'm willing to drop. With the following available:Michael Bush, CJ Spiller, Felix Jones, Mike Bell, Ryan Torain, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch^yeah Jackson is the #1 with Spiller set to get an upgrade in carries as well[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 3:34 PM. 10/5/2010 3:33:58 PM
Would it be worth trying to trade Terrell Owens & Aaron Hernandez for Wes Welker? Or is that giving away too much?I doubt T.O. will have another big game and isn't as consistent as Wes Welker[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 3:41 PM. Reason : .]
10/5/2010 3:40:54 PM
I'd say yes. Hernandez is good, and probably going to be real good in a year or two, but he's not elite, and you can most likely find a good enough replacement. Welker would be a step up over TO, so if you can get somebody to take it I think you'd come out better
10/5/2010 3:47:35 PM
So I currently have both Felix Jones and Cadillac Williams on my bench.Which, if either, is worth dropping for one of these available RBs:Michael Bush, OakMarshawn Lynch, BufMike Bell, PhiBush is looking at a time share, but it's not a bad one. And Lynch will likely be the #1 RB in a pass-first offense fairly soon. The Cowboys running game has been terrible so far this season and it's a RB by committee and it sounds like Cadillac is going to get the bulk of the carries but soon also be in a RB by committee as well. Bell could be a decent play for a week or two, but the Eagles are not being very forth-coming with info about McCoy's injury.Should I just hold onto those 2 guys or take a chance on one of the available guys?
10/5/2010 3:55:51 PM
I'm just echoing some other questions that have been asked (haven't seen an answer), but would Lynch or Fred Jackson be worth picking up...they'll both be #1s on their team. But Seattle is pass first and the Bills are just plain awful.
10/5/2010 4:23:18 PM
I'm thinking pick up Lynch before Jackson. What do you think between Fred Jackson and Michael Bush? Better long term value?
10/5/2010 4:57:42 PM
^I'm thinking Bush
10/5/2010 5:12:36 PM
More on McCoy:
10/5/2010 5:35:42 PM
Why are people bullish on Lynch instead of Torain? Torain looks better and familiar with the offense, it will take Lynch a couple weeks to practice.
10/5/2010 6:29:10 PM
I'm definitely placing Torrain at the top of my waiver priority
10/5/2010 6:44:34 PM
I picked him up last week. Glad I did^
10/5/2010 6:45:37 PM
Never thought as a Moss owner I would want him gone from NE, but Minnesota could be ideal.
10/5/2010 8:19:34 PM
I need to pick up a WR off waivers (unless you think Louis Murphy will be productive this week)...available are:Roy WilliamsMike ThomasTJ HoushmandzadehLee EvansKenny BrittDemaryius ThomasWhats my best option?
10/5/2010 8:24:18 PM
I picked up Mike Thomas for this week, so take him so we can shit the bed together.
10/5/2010 8:28:08 PM
^^^and just to add to it...
10/5/2010 9:10:21 PM
Anyone ever had this happen in their league (scoring discrepancy):My opponent had the SD defense...they racked up 41 points for him and he won the game by .23 points. However, if I look at SD's stats from Sunday on his team's page, they are credited with giving up only 4 points...they really gave up 10. In our league's scoring this would be the difference of 4 fantasy points...in other words, I would have won if this was scored correctly. The commish has been notified (his was the team who benefitted from this, lol)...so ever happened to anyone before?Eta: I didn't even catch this mistake...my brother, also in the league, caught it by chance.[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 12:11 AM. 10/6/2010 12:10:05 AM
^There's no mistake. Arizona scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery and those six points weren't the fault of San Diego's defense/special teams.
10/6/2010 12:21:15 AM
i didnt see the game...was one of the touchdowns off of a special teams/defensive play?if so then that sometimes wont be counted into the total.yup just checked.those extra 6 points wont count because it wasnt their offense that scored...so it doesnt get counted against them. its actually a beneficial thing for defenses but sucks for you.[Edited on October 6, 2010 at 12:23 AM. 10/6/2010 12:21:53 AM
^ and ^^ Ok nevermind then. I didn't even consider the fact that the it was a non-offensive score. Damn...that sucks, but it does make sense. I can't really complain.
10/6/2010 12:25:55 AM
I wish my leagues had it that way. Instead, we get penalized if that team's defense throws a pick, and the opponent runs it back for a touchdown.
