60,000 was the estimate after Tuesday sales. It looks like they will miss that big time.

http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi

16,981 with 54% reporting. lol

Around 200,000, and although it had the power of a hit single ("Pork and Beans"), it didn't have near the amount of marketing and press as this one. From what I understand they also spent a ton of money making Raditude.

I didn't even buy it, and I bought Make Believe (liked it initially due to excitement and hype then after like 2 weeks felt dumb) and Red (still enjoy a handful of songs from this).

i guess by not reading certain parts of this thread and some other message boards i completely missed out on the dead weather up until now. some jack white fan i am . i'm really liking their album after 1 listen though. apparently allison mosshart said last month that they're already halfway done with a second album. i thought i heard somewhere that jack white said the white stripes would finish up their new album by the end of the year too. that man stays pretty busy. it's been a pretty good year for supergroups between the dead weather, monsters of folk, and them crooked vultures.

"Digger Barnes – Time Has Come

Imagine a movie directed by dream team David Lynch and Tarantino. A young couple on their honeymoon is stranded in a spooky desert-motel. The place is run by shady characters and haunted by ghosts. A dead body is found…

The whole movie has a strong dark atmosphere combined with sparkling moments of kitsch and black humor. Unfortunately this movie gets lost, just the amazing soundtrack remains – it’s composed by DIGGER BARNES.

DIGGER BARNES is a Hamburg (GER) based singer/songwriter, performer and bassplayer (Chuck Ragan, Revival Tour and others). His music is influenced by Desert Rock and Americana. On his september 2009 euro-tour together with Chuck Ragan he will play songs of his new album TIME HAS COME, accompanied by a small backup band."

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but I like what I've heard so far.

internet provocateur Brian Shaw

(and the Future Islands signing is the top story on Pitchfork right now. Weird.)

As of now, this album and the Julian Casablanca are all I'm really listening to.

So hyped for the FI guys. I'm hoping they'll get the push they deserve, as they've successfully navigated the change in tone from the Wave Like Home songs to the new songs and rearranged them to fit in more with their overall sound.

I've also heard that Ryan Schreiber is a huge FI fan, so that won't hurt, either.

Did anyone happen to see Melt Banana at the :Local 506 tonight? It was fucking awesome, after the opening band, they came out and opened up for themselves using light orbs to like distort synthesizers and played part of their new album that dropped earlier this month.

the new Beach House record is pretty damn solid, imho. On first listen, I like it more than I remember liking Devotion, but we'll see if it has the same staying power with me.

I saw Ponderosa this week when they headlined with Bright Young Things and that is a damn fine band. (well, both are, but that was the first time I had seen Ponderosa).

You can download an 11 track EP (don't ask me... 11 tracks = "ep") off of their website for free. Here is the link to it.

If you like My Morning Jacket, Whiskeytown/the more upbeat Ryan Adams material, really really old Black Crowes, the Band and CCR, then you should probably check this out.

as of right now, i'd say "Walk in the Park" is that song

i'm really digging the percussion on a few of the new Animal Collective tracks, too. "Graze" is the one song on the ep that feels unfinished, though
