It could be where only TE's get PPR while recievers don'tI've seen leagues where TE's get slightly more credit per reception, like maybe .6 vs .4, to make them a little stronger compared to WR'sbut never to the extent that they would be at the top of the league

It's a somewhat complicated system. Basically the commissioner wanted to make them a bit more valuable and overshot it, buy a good bit. Basically it works like this for WR and RB:Receiving Yards: 51 - 999 ReYds = 3 points for every 25 ReYdsPlus a 3 point bonus @ 50+ ReYdReceptions: 7+ Recpts = 1 point for every 1 RecptPlus a 3 point bonus @ 6+ RecptTE:Receiving Yards: 40+ ReYds = 2 points for every 20 ReYdsPlus a 3 point bonus @ 40+ ReYdReceptions: 5 - 9 Recpts = 1 point for every 1 Recpt10+ Recpts = 2 points for every 1 RecptPlus a 2 point bonus @ 4+ Recpt[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 11:27 AM. thats really not that big of a differencefor example, if you hit 50 yards with both the WR and TE, you would get 9 points for the WR and 8 points for the TEunless I'm reading something wrong[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 11:34 AM. Reason : asd]

Also, to add to it...the guy offering me McNabb, Moss, etc is tied with me for the lead in my division...the guy offering Witten, etc is not in my division (yes, we play 2 divisions)
10/15/2008 11:49:25 AM
Never been a fan of those wonky set ups with bonuses that kick in at certain yard/catch benchmarksAlso the long yardage TD bonuses are kinda screwy as wellIf your dude breaks and 80 yard run for the score, he already gets 14 points...no need to give him 5 bonus points for the distance
10/15/2008 12:58:39 PM
haha, wonky, perfect word to describe it
10/15/2008 1:03:10 PM
^^ I agree...I've never liked the setup...but Im not the commishMy biggest issue with it has been that if you have a RB that rushes for 43 yards, and has another 20 receiving yards, he gets no points that day...that sucks
10/15/2008 2:18:52 PM
in one of my leagues, if the QB passes for over 399 yards, he gets 5 extra points...i have no beefs with that bonushowever running backs get a 5 point bonus when they rush for over 299 yards...which has never been done in NFL history

damn I skipped over Rhodes for Joey Fuckin Galloway on my WW since I figured Adda was gonna be back for this weeks games
10/15/2008 4:02:14 PM
I picked up Rhodes in a league where I'm struggling at RB, but I didn't get him in my league where I actually have AddaiRight when Colston comes back, Addai goes out
10/15/2008 4:11:14 PM
Looking at the sched I don't feel too bad since this coming week is his only really sexy matchup vs GBthen he plays Tennessee, New England and Pittsburgh the next three games
10/15/2008 4:16:44 PM
^agreed. But the point remains...he was most people's first round pick. It's never a good thing to lose your first rounder for 2-4 weeks.

Ok, I got Rhodes, but I had to drop my kicker to do it. Thus, who would you drop:PittmanBrad Johnson -- picked him up to replace....DelhommeKevin SmithCedric BensonSprolesI am leaning towards delhomme, but I know people are going to pick him up immediately. Obviously, smith, benson, and sproles arent viable starters, but they all get a huge bump in value if they become starters.[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 6:59 PM. Reason : .]

One of your running backsIf a qb, make it JohnsonHe has one good matchup (this week vs STL) then 2-3 tough games till Romo gets backJake has a cake schedule the next month
10/15/2008 7:03:00 PM
Willie Parker re-injured his knee by stepping in a hole on the practice field. WTF, Steelers?
10/15/2008 7:15:06 PM
I'd drop Sproles...it SEEMS like Ladainian is getting healthier and when LT is in there and healthy, Sproles just isn't a great play unless you get points for kick return YARDS^seriously??[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 8:25 PM. Reason : .]

wasnt it a steelers game where part of the turf came completely up right before a game?
10/15/2008 8:36:27 PM
I was thinking about dropping benson since the bengals look disastrous and he has the least upside, but he is more likely to become the starter.
10/15/2008 11:03:47 PM
So, I've got both Boldin AND Fitzgerald in a 12 team league. Should I keep both and hope Warner throws his ass off every Sunday, or should I use one for his high trade value?
10/15/2008 11:26:49 PM
boldin trade value, though his stock is down.
10/15/2008 11:30:35 PM
chad johnsonorbryant johnsonorbobby engramorsteve smith (nyg)This is for my 3rd WR... steve smith is a FA, not many other FA's worth a shit...do i go with chad friggin ocho cinco johnson again?
10/15/2008 11:58:06 PM
i'd say bryant johnson or bobby engram
10/16/2008 1:16:51 AM
phew...My Rhodes waiver went through right after I saw Addai out 2-4. Big pick up for a bye week.
10/16/2008 10:14:24 AM
only problem with engram is that either seneca wallace or charlie frye will be throwing to him.but ryan fitzpatrick will be throwing to ocho cinco...bryant johnson because of o'sullivan? really? [Edited on October 16, 2008 at 10:26 AM. Reason : ]
10/16/2008 10:25:08 AM
Yeah I got lucky and put in the Rhodes request sunday as soon as he went down in one league, our waivers are only three days so I don't think many people had tried for him since the news hadnt broken yet.
10/16/2008 10:36:00 AM
Pick three:Ryan Grant @ Indy(Indy has a poor rush defense)Matt Forte @ Min(Vikings D is good but Forte has been my most consistent RB)Brandon Jacobs @ SF(definite start here)Steve Slaton @ Det(Detroit has a terrible defense)Pick one:Isaac Bruce @ NYG(has been very consistent to put up double digits until last week)Marvin Harrison @ GB(he's been a no show until last week but plays a weak GB secondary)
10/16/2008 11:00:44 AM
Who should I start this week at my 2nd WR:Vincent Jackson vs. BufDwayne Bowe vs TenBernard Berrian vs Chi.Sucks having Fitzgerald on a bye this week; especially with Braylon Edwards deciding to finally start playing some football.
10/16/2008 11:47:56 AM
Bernard vs his former team... he has something to prove this game for getting cut(hoping the bears beat up on them though....GO BEARS)
10/16/2008 11:49:28 AM

too early to be thinking of trades for guys with favorable matchups for my league's postseason?
10/16/2008 12:52:11 PM
^^So you think I should sit Forte this week against the Vikings?
10/16/2008 1:09:18 PM
bench grant, Forte is the Bears Offense regardless who they playAlso, I win by listening to http://www.fftoolbox.com/index.cfm Some weekends I think I know it better than they do and I am always proven wrong. Never listen to ESPN thats for damn sure[Edited on October 16, 2008 at 1:13 PM. Reason : .]
10/16/2008 1:10:43 PM
^^^ Depends on where you are in the standings, I mean obviously if you are sitting below .500 with a bad chance of getting out, then no. Myself, I've been working on trading for the playoffs since a couple weeks ago, I just had faith my team would get me into position to make it there, right now I'm 1st in the league with a large difference in points, so I should be able to coast in.
10/16/2008 2:05:32 PM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Running back Larry Johnson will not play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, a one-game penalty for violating team rules.
10/16/2008 4:00:33 PM
I'm trading darren mcfadden & steve breaston for colstonjust making sure I'm not missing anything here as I really didn't expect the guy to accept that trade
10/16/2008 5:56:43 PM
^that's hit or miss...depends on how Colston performs coming back from injury.Roflsberger vs CinorRivers vs Buffalo
10/16/2008 6:23:15 PM
^^that's pretty solid, especially if you have enough viable RBs
10/16/2008 11:19:22 PM
Michael Turner is on a bye week. Who should I pick up for the weekend?Mewelde MooreLeRon McClainSammy Morris
10/17/2008 1:05:27 AM
pick two:Earnest Graham vs. SeaSammy Morris vs. DenJustin Fargas vs. Jetsugh, get well soon Addai
10/17/2008 8:24:51 AM
10/17/2008 9:23:04 AM
i just traded steven jackson and boldin for LT and colston. pretty pumped about that move. i have grant, forte, and maroney (if he ever gets back to form) to fill the only other rb spot and needed a bigtime threat every week, LT. i already had fitzgerald, eddie royal, roy williams (should do well in Dallas) and muhsin at wr so adding colston is hoping that he returns to form to be my #2 guy behind fitz.boldin is great, but fitz is better and i offloaded him while his value was high even though he has a mysterious injury that could linger. jackson is just questionable thanks to the sorry STL offense. i haven't lost yet and this is my only league, but i think it was a really good move, especially once the playoffs start.
10/17/2008 9:54:01 AM
damn good move, i can't believe someone went for it.Colston>boldinLT>>>>Sjax
10/17/2008 10:20:21 AM
Yeah definitely a good buy low on both of those guys. I mean Colston is a wildcard as to how effective he is, but come playoff time he should definitely be in solid form.
10/17/2008 10:28:56 AM
You must play in a league with 8-year olds.That's a ridiculous trade...haha.
10/17/2008 10:32:16 AM
I mean, I can see why the guy with Boldin and Sjax would go for it.... but then I can see the million reasons not to.
10/17/2008 10:33:52 AM
For my second RB..LenDale White @KCDerrick Ward vs SFI have Brandon Jacobs starting already, but it looks like LenDale is getting fewer carries. Ward I just have in case something happens to Jacobs, but he gets a decent amount of carries usually anyways and SF has a pretty bad run defense, although KC does have the worst in the NFL..
