Evans is not very good at all, and his foot speed is one of the last things I am concerned about when it comes to him. I don't know how it got to that, the last thing I think when looking at him is "wow he would be better if he was faster." That is probably 10th on the list of things he needs to improve. I would think that a combination of Wilson and Evans would work best. Use Wilson like a lot of teams do in spread offenses, some qb runs and draw plays, and then bring Evans in some for a more traditional offense and SOME passing. Make the defenses we play prepare for more then just 1 bad qb, at least make them prepare for a bad qb who throws and a bad qb who runs. Doesn't matter, we all know that this year the running game is going to be key. If we are going to have any success we will need to be a team that rushes the ball very well, and is in the top of the ACC in that catagory.

^^the o line and RBs will be the most important, we just need a qb to manage the game and not screw up, something that evans certainly did NOT show last year...[Edited on August 21, 2008 at 11:21 AM. Reason : ]

I thought the connection was pretty obvious that when you say you need to have a good running game it implies that your O line is playing good as well.

^^ you should listen to the audio. Eugene is fine. TOB says he's not hurting anymore than the rest of the guys. So if anything he might have a bruise or his muscles ache from all the work they've been putting in. The reason the reporter asked the question was b/c Eugene really didn't get any work in the last scrimmage. This was b/c TOB (and I'm guessing the doctors as well) was finally ready to let Brown scrimmage. So almost all of the work went to him. The reporter thought that Eugene may have been hurt since he didn't really do much in that scrimmage. I mean we've had a bunch of injuries already, so would it really surprise anyone if we had had another one by then.

8/22/2008 12:51:13 PM

8/22/2008 1:00:19 PM

objectively black
8/22/2008 1:49:31 PM
exactly
8/22/2008 1:51:26 PM
Let Evans bitch if he wants to. I wasn't an Evans fan, but I didn't hate the guy either. I think we would have seen a lot of improvement out of him this season.BUT, aside from the fact that Wilson's speed and arm strength are above Evans, the real pressing fact is that Evans is a senior. Even if we see a miraculous turn-around, we'll lose him after this year and be back to square one essentially. If Wilson can have any kind of succes, then we won't be in this kind of shithole next season (although I'm sure the QB controversy will be in full-force).p.s. I'm not sure Wilson is fully black. Could be wrong though.[Edited on August 22, 2008 at 1:59 PM. Reason : ]

^ shit! dammit
8/22/2008 2:00:30 PM
Interesting things on that depth chart- Meares Green ahead of Crouch?- No Jay Smith at WR?- Our starting FB weighs 13 lbs less than our backup RB?- Our starting RB returning kickoffs and punts?Things that make you go hmmmmmm
8/22/2008 2:21:53 PM
^^^ evans wasn't bitching...that was a joke ]
8/22/2008 2:22:16 PM
Shit ... I didn't get it. Oh well, i'd probably bitch, but that's just me.
8/22/2008 2:30:03 PM
Regardless of skill, I dont think Evans is much of the bitching type...
8/22/2008 2:34:32 PM
Evans won't complain, I really just don't think he's that kind of guy. I'm sure he's disappointed that he's not starting but I doubt he'll be a little girl about it.I'm looking forward to seeing what Wilson's got, had to have made him the starter for a reason.[Edited on August 22, 2008 at 4:03 PM.
