Just tossin' this out: What about a villian from the Superman mythos that brings Superman and Batman together? Too early?

Before you dismiss this idea, don't forget about this frame from I Am Legend:

I wouldn't want to see a Superman/Batman movie for the same reason I wouldn't want to see Robin. They've got a good thing going - "if it ain't broke..."

Superman: That goes against what makes these Batman movies great, a lack of all things supernatural. If they want to do the movie, then fine. Wait until the series needs another reboot a decade from now, just don't ruin these characters in this universe by sticking that emo version of Superman in it.

Robin: I like the idea that Batman is in it largely alone. No need for a gay sidekick.

I've heard a lot of people wanting clafyace in the next movie. The only thing I know about clayface is what I've seen on the cartoons. How would they introduce that character in this Batman universe? They've done such a good job of grounding their villains in reality, why botch it with some sort of mud creature?

I don't think they are gonna do a Superman/Batman movie anytime soon (Unless you count the JLA movie in the works). That poster in I Am Legend was just something to add to the realism of the set.

^^^ Used some shit on himself to make him look younger, it let you sculpt your face. Turned him into a clay monster. Also, the mob was involved with him too. So it could happen.

seriously, we all need to join in, then when the moment is right throw in:

"Star Trek is better than Star Wars" or vice versa

although a nerd war of that magnitude might break the internet

Wasn't there a bad guy called the puppeteer or something like that? Or the Ventriliquist. I don't entirely remember his name, but he was pretty cool villain to say the least.

The "Best and Worst Batman Villains" according to IGN, with the Ventriloquist (^) being the 3rd worst of all time

Yeah- I still liked him though.

Not as much as Bane or any of the other main bad guys. But he was definitley above Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. I also liked The Penguin, but he was the #5 worst.

Regardless- it will be interesting who they choose to head up the next movie. I really have a feeling it's going to be Bane becasue he literally just breaks Batman. And that alone is an epic tale.

I would like it if they follow the story line, in that bane just basically wears batman down, instead of just being in one large battle or something along those lines

but then you run the risk of having a 2.5 hour action movie with no story line, because batman is having to find endless criminals that bane is releasing all over the city

who knows where they'll go

Always thought it was kind of lame to judge movie success by millions of dollars instead of numbers of seats

I know saying 200 million is sexier than saying 19,845,000 tickets

but rising prices will always give the most recent movies an advantage

That's just how she looks.

And i think it's a good thing that they don't use actresses that all look like unrealistic supermodels. It gets tiring and I think deludes the masses.

the two most powerful people in the city definitely would be interested in more attractive women... they could have found a spot between the smoking hot supermodel tier and the ugly tier

and this isn't how she always looks, she's looked a lot better in other stuff she's done

I think the guy has a valid point.

Batman will certainly win more awards, but I enjoyed Iron Man just as much. Sure it was less serious and a bit campy (fire extinguisher FTW) but I think it was everything that an Iron Man movie could be.

ok just got back from seeing it after wanting to for a whole week

anyways, i loved the first 2/3 and felt like the ending was rushed and just didnt really have any real effect on me.

I hatedddd two face and how he was so quickly throw in with no real build up, didnt like it at all...didnt like Dent either tho honestly.

as for the Joker, its all been said...great job by Heath.

I think for the next they should do a black mask, catwoman theme with harley quinn as well, throw in quite a few of them...

id really LOVEEEEE to see the Riddler and think Johnny Depp would make one hell of a riddler myself and could bring that darkness to it.

as for a female, id really like to see someone dark and pretty, yet vunerable, a lot like all of the characters.

id love a riddler tho, but blackmask couldddd work, only problem is there, the main public wouldnt follow blackmask very well as opposed to Riddler, who makes sense coming in and trying to lead an uprise against Batman

I know it's considered blasphemy to in any way connect this batman world with Schumacher's batman world, but I still think Jim Carey could be an awesome riddler.

Make him a darker character and give him an outfit that looks a little less like Matthew Lesko and you've got a kick ass riddler.

For Catwoman I can see Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek or Cathrine Zeta Jones.

Harley Quinn: Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, or Naomi Watts

i actually thought about Jolie, but she seems too mainstream and not young enough

altho she could pull it off with that Beowulf voice

and Carrey, yeaaaa...problem is he already did it...I would want someone with more darkness and new, fresh

You know who would make a badass Riddler

and I also thought he would've made a good Joker because he's awesome at playing a fucking psycho

Ben Foster

Stole the show in Alpha Dog and was crazy in Hostage as well

you couldddd stop dragging on your words like a teenage girl

but Gosling could be a good choice; he's kind of in the Foster mold as a young up a comer with a dark side

I dont think it will be someone completely unknown, but someone that we wouldn't expect and might have initial doubts about, like we did with Ledger

[Edited on July 25, 2008 at 10:43 PM. Reason : I'd really LOVEEEEEE to see Jeremy Piven in the series in some capacity]

yea i agree with that, I think Gosling could pull it off, he's had some moments in movies that make me see it

and I can see the darkness in Phoenix if he was to do black mask...just makes sense for him, to me anyways.

I do wish batmans fight scenes were played better, they just lack that "action"

this movie was very nearly ruined by Christian Bale's terrible fucking batman voice. He sounded so fucking stupid 99% of the time. Why did they have to make his voice so over the top?

The only reason it didnt completely ruin it for me was ledger and just about the rest of the cast.

I don't know if this has been challenged since it was posted on TWW (or IMDb), but when I watched Dark Knight again tonight I specifically looked for this in the film, and did not see any name at all on his name badge. It was completely blank from what I could tell in the MV theatre. Only thing I saw with any name was his DENT campaign sticker. I was looking at the "badge" on his right shoulder above the campaign sticker...blank. Was it on his left and I was just looking at the wrong thing? Or am I blind and/or had too many Bad Penny's at MV? Or was it not there?

I want it to be there, b/c I'm a sucker for a cutesy references like this especially with Ledger's death following the film. That would just be too sweet of a tribute...but I didn't see it

I'm fine with Bale's Batman voice most of the time, and I appreciate that he consistently uses it when in costume, but I sometimes wish he'd tone it down a little when he's supposed to be saying something profound-ish.

"Because you were the best of us!" comes to mind.

But I do like that Bruce is so far into the Batman persona that he keeps disguising his voice even during an outburst of emotion like that.
