This is really unbelievable. No matter how shitty the Mets play week to week come Monday morning their lead is EXACTLY the same in the division... it's eerie.
8/12/2007 10:44:41 PM
^ reminds me of some of the Braves years in the 90s. No matter how shitty the Braves played, it seemed like the Mets, Phillies, Marlins could never quite close the gap enough to take over the division lead. The Mets have that luxury now of sitting on top and forcing someone to get hot enough to actually displace them.
8/13/2007 3:29:32 PM
mmmm, was at citizen's bank last night. good game, good game. that ryan howard shot was the highest i've ever seen a baseball go.

8/14/2007 10:25:31 PM
such a worthless piece of fat shit. why can we no longer find a closer worth a damn
8/14/2007 10:26:34 PM
probably the 3rd worst closer in baseball, just in front of todd jones and joe borowski
8/14/2007 10:36:08 PM
if we had a good closer....our team would be really good. We would atleast have somewhere between 7-10 more wins than we do right now
8/14/2007 11:01:12 PM
get it bobby... 1st all time in ejections
8/15/2007 12:23:26 AM
^^ Read on the AJC today that the Braves had 7 blown saves in 33 opps in the 1st half and now have 7 blown saves in 12 opps in the second half already. Losing Mike Gonzalez hurts more every fucking day. Luckily we pulled last night's game out. Hitters who leadoff an inning against fatty must be hitting atleast .500 and the OBP is probably around .750 given the walks he allows.
8/15/2007 11:34:57 AM
Guy just got escorted out for holding a "Bonds Cheated" sign up behind home plate while Barry was at the plate...pretty big sign.
8/15/2007 7:46:09 PM
^Thats some bullshit
8/15/2007 8:14:59 PM
Bobby Cox with ejection # 133
8/15/2007 8:26:44 PM
8/15/2007 8:41:53 PM
Barry finally made use of those performance enhancing drugs he's taken for something positive for the game . . . escorting Klesko to the dugout after he was thrown out of the game.
8/15/2007 8:47:39 PM
yeah, and then continues his cheating ways by homering. fucker
8/15/2007 9:17:41 PM
8/15/2007 9:46:15 PM
you cant tell me you think it'd be a good move to take a 40 year old pitcher and move him to closer for the 2nd time in his career. It's hard enough having to make that switch 1 time, but 2 times for a 40 year old pitcher with as many IP's as he has would be a horrible "risk" to take and I would not be comfortable making it with the heart of our baseball team.
8/15/2007 10:26:55 PM
^^Schuerholz has 2 more WS than you do. And moving Smoltz back to closer is a great idea for me to poop on.
8/15/2007 11:23:08 PM
How about you go ask ole Johnny S how trading for Hampton worked out. Nothing like having your highest paid player on the bench for almost 2 seasons. And sure he has made some good trades, and its lead to some championships and ONE World Series. But the fucking Marlins managed to win more World Series in the same stretch than the Braves. And with who? And who was their GM? Thats right, nobody knows or cares. The Braves have turned into a corporate team who don't care about winning, only the bottom line. They traded for Tex, I will give them that, but unless they sign him long term, and or Andruw, they are a failure.
8/16/2007 12:56:37 AM
8/16/2007 12:59:06 AM
JS does not make the ROSTER moves you fucking idiot. That was pretty obvious to everyone except morons like you I suppose.[Edited on August 16, 2007 at 1:07 AM. Reason : .]

8/16/2007 1:23:04 AM
beats me, i'm not a sagethe point is we don't have garland so your point not only moot, but also inaneyou can't solely blame JS for not making a trade, god knows what batshit crazy kenny williams wanted in return
8/16/2007 1:30:57 AM
^just the fact that he calls not resigning andruw after this season a "failure" should give you all reason to just ignore his dumbass. Andruw will never be the same again. He has too many flaws that pitchers know about now. It just won't happen. Not to mention that his defense is declining as well
8/16/2007 1:44:26 AM
Hilarious that you call for ignoring me, yet you just replied indirectly to everything that I suggested. Hilarity indeed!
8/16/2007 1:53:20 AM
^i said he should ignore you. I didnt say a word about what i should do
8/16/2007 1:54:01 AM
And because of that little bit, I win! And for this, I thank you.
8/16/2007 1:56:59 AM
RoyalFlush:Please stop posting your gay idea of moving Smoltz back to the pen as a closer and trading for John fucking Garland. It didn't happen, it won't happen, the Braves don't have anything they can trade for Garland anyway. Also why the hell are you so hung up on John fucking Garland. He is not even that important to his own team. Plus he would not be able to duplicate the results Smoltz gives the Braves and Smoltz has already said 100 times that he will not go back to closing. It wears his arm out having to get loose or pitch in 80% of the games. Face it, your idea sucked and if you were running the Braves, we would be worse than the Natspos and would have traded Escobar, Salt, Elvis, Harrison, Kelly Johnson, McCann, and Chipper to get John fucking Garland.

8/16/2007 2:18:47 PM
I just wish there was a better explanation for what Hernandez was seeing out there. I can't think of a single RH pitcher that doesn't have a pick off move exactly like what Tim was doing last night. It's damn near impossible for you to turn to throw without your leg flinching. Nothing he did I could see as being a deliberate act of deceit towards the hitter or runner. Just mind-boggling, really.
8/16/2007 4:09:41 PM
I'm not hung up on John Garland, I merely mention his name because he was the only notable SP that the Braves were interested in.
8/16/2007 4:20:06 PM
Suppose the Braves had gotten Garland at the deadline. Why would they move Smoltz to closer. They could just go Smoltz, Hudsen, Garland, James, Carlyle. Bumping James and Carlyle back to the 4 and 5 spots would benifit so much more then replacing Wickman and leaving the starting rotation the same (Thats assuming that Garland could perform like smoltz). Remember Wickman was on fire last year, and he can get it back
8/16/2007 4:38:20 PM
^^ The Braves had interest in Bronson Arroyo and Kevin Millwood as well. Garland is better than both those guys, but none of them would have made a major contribution in the playoff push.
8/16/2007 4:58:12 PM
True, I forgot you can see into the future.
8/16/2007 5:03:17 PM

8/16/2007 5:29:29 PM
geez, we really just enjoy matching the mets game for game
8/16/2007 10:21:53 PM
I would rather watch a Golden Girls marathon right now than the Mets bullpen.. pitiful performance tonight.I need liquor.
8/16/2007 10:26:32 PM
Thank God for the Mets pen and the Pirates comeback. Chuck James was throwing like a girl again last night. I only watched a couple of innings because I was so disgusted at how horrible and slow James's "fastball" looked. That dude is like Tim Wakefield. Sometimes he's really good, other times he is worse than Jose Lima.Big series this weekend for the Braves versus the D-Backs. The Braves are running into a hot team and will have to face Brandon Webb and his 33 inning scoreless streak tonight. Plus Cormier is pitching tonight as well so we will lose on Friday. Hopefully we'll rebound and get Sat and Sunday's games. Please for Mets and Phils to get swept this weekend!

What the fuck is up with that music on TBS? I can't believe that shithole channel has the NL playoffs this year...Teixeria finally starting to hit? Was hitting .246 coming in to this game.. (also, ballpark at arlington is a better hitters park than anywhere in the NL if they didn't notice)...[Edited on August 19, 2007 at 2:04 PM.
