many people might consider north carolina a mid-atlantic state, not necessarily the southeast
6/9/2009 11:28:37 PM
ITS COMING MAYBErain again
6/9/2009 11:30:13 PM
6/9/2009 11:32:08 PM
well she doesnt live directly in the north of wake county....which i guess you would consider the north edge of the county by your logic
6/9/2009 11:33:56 PM
probably the same way people call north raleigh north raleigh
6/9/2009 11:34:16 PM
i don't think you understand jmoney. that's cadwal's logic. i was mocking it.
6/9/2009 11:35:12 PM
well either way i shouldnt have been sucked into this...i feel i have failed myself
6/9/2009 11:36:10 PM
all i'm saying is you said "i'm in north raleigh and it isn't raining here like it shows on the radar" and i looked at the radar and it hadn't crossed 540 yet, which is for the most part the northern boundary of what i call raleigh. so i was like "the radar doesn't even show it raining in north raleigh yet". i was just trying to show you why someone would doubt your interpretation of the radar in that situation.lol i reckon we just have different interpretations of where raleigh's boundaries are.
6/9/2009 11:38:38 PM
i just know people in my area and "north raleigh" that have been here for 30 years have like, always called it that. so that is how i know it. because 540 is relatively new in the scheme of raleigh. so i'm just going by what it has been called ever since i've lived here. i suppose if i lived farther out i'd say bay leaf or falls lake area. but 540 seems like a logical boundary, however, people have been living here since before 540!! and it is north of raleigh (by like a mile) so it is still north raleigh to me!
6/9/2009 11:43:30 PM
cadwal, we'll just agree to disagree, like usual
6/9/2009 11:44:16 PM
fine fine(but i don't get why you'd agree to disagree to call something north of raleigh north raleigh )
6/9/2009 11:51:39 PM
virginia is north of raleighlet's call that north raleigh
6/9/2009 11:52:26 PM
you know what i mean does virginia have a raleigh address? if so then fine, call it raleigh! [Edited on June 9, 2009 at 11:56 PM. Reason : .]
6/9/2009 11:55:45 PM
to me "north of raleigh" means it's, well, north of raleighand "north raleigh" means it's in raleigh, but the northern portionand i draw my boundaries where the city draws themfor example, back home i live outside of the goldsboro city limits. when i'm talking to someone from around home, i tell them i live east of goldsboro, not in east goldsboro. or i'll say i live in eastern wayne county.[Edited on June 9, 2009 at 11:59 PM. Reason : i have a goldsboro address, but i don't technically live in goldsboro]
6/9/2009 11:58:42 PM
i get it, but its just different here. the area i live in has been called north raleigh for years and years regardless of whether it is in the city limits (which have also crept outward!). perhaps farther out like around falls lake or something people wouldn't say "i live in north raleigh." i'm just calling it what everyone else has always called it! it hasn't really ever been an issue before. a lot of schools/churches/businesses have it in their names (north raleigh blah blah blah). it is just different than where you are from, i guess. i don't make the rules!!! now that is my last comment because ppl are going to read this thread and be like "wtf why were people arguing about north raleigh for two pages"
6/10/2009 12:08:08 AM

6/18/2009 12:22:48 AM

6/18/2009 12:23:16 AM

6/18/2009 12:23:45 AM

6/18/2009 12:31:15 AM

6/18/2009 12:37:14 AM
i think it is going to skip me again. i always get skipped. i hear little rumbly distance thunder, but i always get skipped!
6/18/2009 12:38:41 AM
oh my
6/18/2009 12:38:50 AM
ever since i moved up here for college ive noticed storms often skip/split around raleigh...its quite intriguing and ive wondered about doing research on storms and possible relationship to urban heating...haha/nerd
6/18/2009 12:39:36 AM
i'm always in the middle / right near the "bad" areas. like bad shit seems to always come our way from durham or WF. but the past few storms have totally skipped me for no reason. i'm like in very close proximity because i can hear it but it never comes you should do the research pls and tell me your findings.
6/18/2009 12:41:14 AM
can't wait to move back and get my storm on...i won't see rain for here again
6/18/2009 12:41:15 AM
^ I noticed this trend as well. It always annoyed me when the "cool" storms would break up and disappear. I always looked forward to falling asleep to the sound of a thunderstorm those nights.I think I'm gonna turn my computer off tonight so a power flicker doesn't fuck up my hard drives again.
6/18/2009 12:41:17 AM
^^when are you moving back from california?^^^ i have free time right now, maybe i will do it ahah[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 12:43 AM. Reason : h]
