generally no, you cannot. They say on the back of each game box which controller you need.

smash bros brawl will use the classic (or old school gamecube) controller. I bought a wavebird the same day as the Wii for this reason.

Penny Arcade linked them, so their bandwidth probably got wanged.

everytime i go to the mii parade or plaza... my mii is the only character there

I thought other people's mii's would randomly show up and stuff? how does this happen?

i think everybody has to go to their mii plaza and say they want their mii to travel and want to allow traveling mii's on their wii. if all that is done, then i dont know why you wouldnt get some others poppin up in yours. so far, the only person i have in mine besides my own mii is ShinAntonio's.

You can actually send your Mii to others.

yea i think i sent you mine after i saw yours. the description of the mii plaza makes it sound like it should do the mii sharing automatically though so long as you have your settings to allow it.

fyi: Target will have some Wiis tommorrow morning. I would guess Walmart and BB and CC might too. Also, Target on Lynn has about 5 classic controllers out if you want one.

To see your system code: Go the Wii Message Board and then go to the Address Book. I believe the code is in there.

BTW, if anyone wants a cheap multiplayer game, Bomberman '93 on the VC supports five players.

so you're positive that i can use my gamecube controllers to play smash bros. brawl, and i don't have to by the wii classic controllers? i thought this might be the case, but i didn't know it was anything confirmed.

i read they will have adapters for the NES and SNES controllers early next year that plug in to the same ports as the game cube controllers. can anybody confirm this? or am I the only one who even cares? I want the old skool controller for punch out when it comes out... even if it is the lame Mr. Dream version.

Are you familiar with the Wario Ware games?

Quote :
"The distinctive feature of all WarioWare games is that they are collections of short, simple microgames in quick succession. Each of these microgames last about five seconds and must be completed, or else a life will be lost. For example, there is a microgame where the player must zap a spaceship; in another, Wario must collect coins in a Pac-Man-like maze. The numerous microgames are linked together randomly and steadily increase in speed and difficulty as the player progresses."

How many different mini-games are in it? It can't be that many, especially since it repeated in a 4 minute video.

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the virtual store? I was able to connect over Thanksgiving Break at my dad's house but it is giving me problems here back at school. Wiiconnect24 seems to be okay and the "test connection" doesn't seem to be giving any problems.

I went to Target this morning and stood in line for about 90 minutes. I was 14th in line when I got there at 630 and by 8 the line had grown to about 50. The manager came out right before they opened saying they had received 42 consoles. Ive been playing the wii ever since i got home!!!

So kimslackey and I now have a Wii.

I'm watching it perform system updates right now. Really easy to get the thing working and connected to the internets too.

Looks like it'll be a whole lot of fun, for sure.

The gamecube version had over 200 minigames. So, it's safe to say the wii version will have around the same.

Previous WW games had around 200 minigames in them. The reason you saw them repeat in that video is that after the boss stage (the Starfox stage in this video, which was freaking awesome), the minigames get harder. So if you repeat a minigame it'll be harder. The games generally have about 10 levels and each level has 20 or so minigames that are chosen randomly.

Side note, only one level uses material from other Nintendo games. Other levels feature more original ideas.

i went to mii parade and there are a bunch of random miis marching across my screen...who do they belong to?

also, i turned on "travel and mingle" so does that mean my mii will go on other people's console?

then there is a feature where i could "send my mii" and i sent it to a couple people on here..

what is the difference between all these things? i'm confused

complete opposite story for me this morning. Target in New Bern advertised 20 units to be released this morning, even had some people that worked at Target confirm the amount. Got there at 5:30 for the 8oclock opening. Manager came out at 7 and said they only had 13 units. I was 15 in line.

nice. if that was him, we were both wearing sandels and by 8am i couldnt feel my feet anymore. I had rushed out of the door not even thinking about putting shoes on.

I made the most awesome Mii, cant wait to parade him online.

Invite random people over and play stupid games. Makes life fun.
