i cancelled mine until i got into the 100s
1/17/2006 2:30:34 AM
i have a group with me though so i cant do that
1/17/2006 2:37:57 AM
does your point status have any effect on where your seats are? i've never gotten 300-level in 3 years of going to every game possible, i'm wondering if this points fiasco has something to do with it. i've talked to some other friends who were wrongly penalized that got 300-level seats for the first time as well
1/17/2006 9:27:06 AM
All of my friends got penalized for the GT game and we all went. What the hell is goin on. Also, i just looked and i got penalized for the App State game a long time ago when i cancelled my ticket. Now it wont let me be a group leader. What the hell is goin on?
1/17/2006 10:36:56 AM
lahyde gave an explanation of that a page or two backi would still like to see the problem be fixed on the site in a way other than someone telling me "oh it's ok, it won't count against you". I'd like for the site to show that I have 3 Attendance Points right now, because right now I'm worried that someone who has yet to attend a game all year may have an advantage over me.is there any guess at when the problem might actually be resolved?thanks
1/17/2006 10:45:49 AM
yea but now i am down to 1 point on bullshit and i cant be a group leader what can i do?[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 10:50 AM. Reason : ]
1/17/2006 10:49:02 AM
i'm down to 1 point and it's still letting me be a leader
1/17/2006 10:51:15 AM
thats weird, i have liked the online system until now, its really pissin me off
1/17/2006 10:53:01 AM
yeah, i mean i was expecting there to be flaws and bugs, but i was hoping they would be too, and be ready to do something about it.
1/17/2006 10:55:23 AM
please if anyone has 111 and would swap for a 126, or vice versa, please let me know on here or PM
1/17/2006 11:08:17 AM
ok i need explanation. i tried to claim a ticket last nite and it said error. what does that mean? and now today there are no more tickets. so i don't get this system? is it not going to be at all like it was for football? even for the big games bc i think a lottery would be better than claiming tickets esp when people have problems and i have all my points. someone please tell me why i could not claim anything last nite? thanks.[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 12:47 PM. 1/17/2006 12:45:17 PM
you should still be able to claim your ticket today, because the claiming date has been extended. Are you sure you won the ticket?
1/17/2006 12:56:34 PM
Yes but I called the ticket office and it says the server is down so who knows. If I get screwed out of another ticket and if anyone happens to have an extra one or two, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
1/17/2006 1:04:01 PM
I'm still upset that I only have 1 attendance point because of actually going to the App State and Georgia Tech game.
1/17/2006 1:07:16 PM
^dude, read the last page. Those games don't count.
1/17/2006 1:09:05 PM
I some how doubt that. and yes I've read those last few pages. what it appears to me is that if you went to the game it doesn't "count" when individuals who didn't go or didn't get tickets still have 3 points. Fuck that bullshit.
1/17/2006 1:20:18 PM
no, what it means is that your total points are not including the points from the GT and ASU games. The company is fixing the server and expects to return it by Friday, but Athletics cannot access your accounts until then. And on another note, everyone who applied for Wake tickets got them. There will be an on demand, but the claim period was extended into today (possibly tomorrow as well) to alleviate the confusion and all
1/17/2006 1:22:02 PM
if our total points are not including the GT and ASU games, then why does it still say i only have 1 point.i find it extremely difficult to believe that there would be some seperate record of me having 3 points while this one says only 1. why wouldn't what i see on my account and what athletics sees on my account map to the same record?and if they didn't give out all the tickets, why the hell did they give me 300-level? shouldn't the best seats be given out first? i'm not saying best seats go to first people to request tickets, but once the winners are determined, people/groups should be randomly selected to receive tickets and give out the best ones first. i could never understand why there were so many empty seats on the sidelines in the student sections when there were plenty more students scattered around in the "worse" sections at the earlier games this season.

The main problem I see with this system is that there's no one administrating it. lahyde is obviously doing all he can, but he can't access the computer system since it's in the home office of the motherfucking West Michigan Whitecaps. There were plenty of problems with the old system. Inconvenient pickup times, IDs not getting scanned at the RBC box office so people would get multiple sets of tickets, voucher theft, etc. etc. But at the very least, someone with hands-on access to the distribution of tickets was watching over it to make sure that a very high percentage of tickets (and quality tickets, at that) got into the hands of those who wanted them. We don't have that now.
1/17/2006 2:30:14 PM
the way i said was even more fair than giving the best seats to those who claim first.obviously the tickets are randomly assigned for each person. i say do it the opposite way. randomly assign people/groups to the tickets, starting with the best and gradually working your way to the "bad" seats. the 300 level should ALWAYS be the last tickets given out. it is absolutely RIDICULOUS to force students to sit up there if they haven't even given out all the lower-level seats yet. sure the rest of the tickets might be given out in the on-demand time period or at the gates or something, but the 300-level seats should always be given out last. who cares if there are a few rows of student seats empty up on that level? to have empty rows on the sidelines or in the endzone student sections is EMBARASSING. and it isn't because of lack of demand. i think it's a shame to leave any sideline/endzone seat empty, much less an entire row.something needs to change
1/17/2006 2:58:23 PM
1/17/2006 2:58:41 PM
your group leader is not eligible because he has point deducted.
1/17/2006 2:59:36 PM
yea the points deducted from GT and App state that aernt supposed to matter
1/17/2006 3:00:43 PM
He hasn't clicked the leader eligibility box on the student info page.
1/17/2006 3:01:13 PM
I cant be a group leader eitherand i was penalized for the newhampshire game when i cancelled my ticket
1/17/2006 3:01:47 PM
yeah, probably these mysterious point deductions that "don't count"
1/17/2006 3:01:51 PM
yes its my id and i have clicked it.
1/17/2006 3:01:52 PM
yea, apparently they are counting if i cant be a group leader.
1/17/2006 3:02:42 PM
This is why I hate NC State.Knee Jerk reactions result in haphazard ticket systems taht jew me.
1/17/2006 3:09:07 PM
all i know is that if im on the 300-level and see empty rows in the lower-level sections i am gonna be pissed off.and you know the ushers won't let you down in there even if there are empty rowsi know none of this is lahyde's fault and that he's just the messenger. who should we complain to about the system?[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 3:13 PM. 1/17/2006 3:11:05 PM
I will murder the who ever came up with the seating delegations if I see empty seats in the lower levels. That is if I can see from section 316.
1/17/2006 3:12:04 PM
^yeah no kidding
1/17/2006 3:13:39 PM
I wouldn't give a fuck if it was a hockey game, because 300s are better for them, but not a fucking basketball game.
1/17/2006 3:25:07 PM
your complaints have been passed on, but there's nothing anyone can do until athletics gets their server back. TicketReturn is hosting it all on one of their servers (obviously the whitecaps' server) until our's is repairedso...yeah, it sucks...and yeah, it doesn't seem fair, but at best it's equitable because everyone is in the same boat....no one is getting any better privaledge than you, so just waiting is all anyone can do for now...
1/17/2006 3:56:32 PM
is taht suppose to give me a warm feeling inside? Because it sure as hell isn't.
1/17/2006 4:02:51 PM
^ Come on man, Lee is taking flak for crap that isn't even "his".If you're knocking TicketReturn that's one thing, but don't knock Lee. The whole system is fubared and it sucks. I'm *Seriously* considering just not going now.Because if I cancel/get on-demand, then I may get a 100-level, but I won't be with my friends, which is boring.
1/17/2006 4:56:01 PM
yeah, it definately isn't lee's fault since he actually has no authority over the situation but is just trying to pass the student's words to the "powers that be". If you want to get pissed blame student government or ticket return. And hell this is an engineering school and how many computer science, computer/electrical engineering students graduate here each year? They should have just hired them to do it instead of some outside company that has more problems than they know what to do with. oh and I was penalized for the App State and GT games but it still allows me to be a group leader and people can sign up under me so it may be another game that you were penalized for. So I don't think that's the problem.

it's really hard to say...Athletics can't even check your account until they get the server backthis is only happening to a handful of people...only about 2 percent of the people I talk to say they're having the group leader problembut as soon as they get the server back I'll check it out for you
1/17/2006 5:57:56 PM
thanks man
1/17/2006 6:50:13 PM
I might have missed someone saying this but how are seats delegated once you have been awarded a ticket. I signed up for Wake tickets just after sign ups began and was awarded 314 seats...i'm guessing its not on a first come first serve basis rewarding the people who sign up early. The claim period is still going on...whoever thought to give out the nose bleeds first needs to rethink this strategy...it makes our fanbase look shitty when there are empty seats down low. All you LUCKY enough to have drawn lower level seats enjoy...and maybe bring me a tissue for my nose bleed haha
1/17/2006 6:52:50 PM
you are assigned a "random" seat when you winthe seat you get has nothing to do with when you claim your ticketyou could claim it at the beginning of the claim period or right before the end of the claim period and you would end up with the same seat
1/17/2006 6:55:22 PM
^ True. But I am 100% certain "SOMETHING" is up. NEVER have I seen so many folks with 300-level seats. Where are all the 100-level seaters at? I would say 75% or more of those I've heard/talked to have 300-level seats...something is up w/ the system.
1/17/2006 7:02:16 PM
the reason you have never seen so many people with 300 level seats is because we have never had so many 300 levels seats available for students...as the seasons gets under ACC play more heavily, they slowly start adding more seats for students, thus more of a chance to get a 300 level seat whereas before all of our seats were 100 level
